One of football’s brightest young stars, FC Barcelona player and 2026 World Cup winner with Spain, Lamine Yamal, and Spanish model and influencer Inés García have quickly become one of the most talked-about couples in the sport.
The two went public earlier this year, making their first official appearance together at Barcelona’s title celebrations. Since then, Inés has been by Yamal’s side throughout Spain’s World Cup run, cheering him on from the stands in his No. 19 jersey before joining him on the pitch to celebrate the team’s historic victory.

Rumors about the relationship first started after the couple was spotted together during a trip to Greece in spring 2026. “People started seeing us together when we went to Greece,” Inés explained. “I’ve known Lamine for a lot longer than that. Not quite three years, but a good deal more months than people realize, even now.”
As for how they actually met, the story is refreshingly ordinary. “Here’s the real story: social media,” she said. “I’d love to tell you some super crazy story, like I saw him at an airport, or ran into him and dropped my papers, and he helped me pick them up. Nope, nope, nope. We met on social media.”
García, based in Seville, has built a following of more than five million across Instagram and TikTok, sharing selfies, outfit photos, and beauty content. Throughout the World Cup, though, her feed shifted almost entirely toward soccer, photos of herself in the stands, posts celebrating his wins, and updates from her travels through the United States following the team, all despite having admitted, “I love traveling, but I’m terrified of flying.”
After Spain’s win over Argentina in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final, the couple celebrated together on the pitch. Inés shared a heartfelt post on her Instagram, writing, “You did it. Congratulations my love, you are the champion of the world.”
