Describing themselves as a couple in one word, they said: “Soulmates”
Katie and James’ love story started once after he messaged her on Facebook while he was in Dubai on holiday visiting his best man Jack. Katie used to be a private flight attendant, and she was working in Dubai at the time. From Katie: “It took 3 months for us to go on a first date as I kept letting him down, and luckily, on his last attempt, we finally met up and had our first date at Madison rooftop bar in London. I will always remember it being freezing (the day before NYE), and I had open-toe shoes on. James offered me his socks which I found weirdly romantic! So I ended up sitting there with his socks on, and the rest is history!”
Fast forward to their wedding day, which was beautifully captured by Rebecca Searle, photographer, and Arran Kenny, filmmaker.
“Back in 2020, we welcomed our beautiful little boy Leo, he’s brought us even closer together and we can’t imagine life without him. I think we have both seen each other in a different way since becoming parents for the better.”
The couple has been together for five years and engaged in the Maldives with the help of a butler called Eddy who was extremely helpful and not at all subtle about photographing them. Last year they exchanged their vows at Farm Street Church, Mayfair.
“We are both very relaxed and from day one we just got on so well, always laughing and both sharing the same interests, we hardly argue or disagree (we do have our moments, of course, both having annoying habits that drive each other crazy).”
For the church ceremony, the bride preferred to hair all back with a movement style by Boe Wright from BOTIAS. Oozing radiance and sophistication! Katie’s bridal look, featuring a classic and elegant dress by Emma Beaumont, left everyone awestruck.
Arran Kenny, the filmmaker, said: “The couple wanted their ideal wedding day to be romantic, relaxed, a room full of laughter and love.”
These awesome shots are the parts of his wedding film you MUST watch at the end of this page.
The sweethearts chose Claridge’s Hotel as it is a world-famous, beautiful hotel and they wanted the wow factor for them and their guests. The couple also fell in love with the decor of the two adjoining rooms and liked the fact they could have dinner in one room and then the party next door.
As her evening look, Katie opted for Hollywood by BOTIAS and a second beaded dress also designed by Emma Beaumont.
“I speak on behalf of James but I know he would agree when I say we really are best friends.”
