Corinne and Pier chose Castello di Scipione for the tension between its centuries-old architecture and their modern perspective. They envisioned something clean and minimal, but never quiet — confident, sexy, and entirely their own. Woven greenery framed the ceremony in sculptural compositions, then the evening unfolded in silver, candlelight, and a deep, unapologetic red. As the sun set, the castle shifted from restrained elegance to a charged, high-energy celebration. Film photography by Petit de la Crème and Super 8 by Arbricias added a subtle vintage touch to the day. With a strong creative team behind it, every detail aligned, and everything simply clicked.
Location: Salsomaggiore, Italy
Style: Modern, Bold, Fashion-Led
Time of planning: 1 year
Number of guests: 120
Setting: Castle
Season: Summer
Corinne is from Parma, and Pier is from Turin. They met through mutual friends while studying at university in Milan. After a year of friendship, their relationship began. Their early years were defined by movement. They lived between Canada and the United States, finding ways to see each other through overnight Greyhounds and flights. Later, they both moved to London to complete their studies. They first shared homes with friends and roommates before deciding to move in together. Travel and skiing have always shaped their story. In 2024, Pier proposed in Selva di Val Gardena in the Dolomites, a place deeply tied to their shared memories on the slopes and especially meaningful to Corinne.
Concept & Location
“We wanted a wedding that felt modern with some classic details, somehow understated and minimalistic but sexy and fun at the same time,” shared the couple. The castle gave them stone walls, arches, and layered gardens to play against. They leaned into that contrast and kept the direction sharp and intentional. “We wanted to have a ‘clean’ and sharp aesthetic, in a more classic context,” they said. The planners at LaLindi took that idea and shaped it into something cohesive and clear.
La Fiorellaia kept the florals modern without overpowering the setting. Roots and grasses were woven into textured installations that added depth instead of volume. “We wanted the event to be very authentic and natural, and mostly we wanted it to be a great party,“ shared the couple. That mix of intention and ease ran through every design choice.
Wedding Day
Bridal Morning & Fashion
Corinne has always loved fashion, so the bridal look mattered. She wanted something minimal, but not plain — structured, sharp, and still a little sexy. Her gown by Emma Victoria Payne Bridal was cut from ivory silk and built around a sculptural corset with a modern crescent neckline. The lines were clean, the fabric smooth, and the overall silhouette confident.
“I wanted a minimal but elevated dress,” shared the bride. The corset, the soft drape of the cowl neck detail, and the precision of the tailoring delivered exactly that. She styled it with blush satin YSL heels and earrings by Nina Gordon. A family heirloom choker added a personal layer, grounding the modern look with something meaningful.
For the after party, Corinne switched into a short 1990s Versace dress with an open back and paired it with golden Gianvito Rossi slides. Prada Infusion de Vanille became her scent for the night — a small detail, but very her.
Groom’s Getting Ready
Pier chose a Botta & B suit that felt elegant and contemporary. He styled it with a Hugo Boss tie and classic waistcoat, balancing tradition and modern tailoring.
Getting dressed with his best men became one of his most meaningful memories.
He later shared that merging “London ‘new friends’ with friends of a lifetime” during those hours felt especially significant. The relaxed energy before the ceremony created a strong emotional foundation for the day.
Ceremony
The ceremony unfolded in front of the ancient garden arch, where woven grasses formed a textured, architectural frame softened by fresh white blooms. The use of plaited greenery has become one of the strongest floral directions of the past year, and here it felt intentional rather than trendy.
“A cascade of floating lilies created a sense of suspended movement—like a breath accompanying the ceremony. The vegetal compositions unfolded like roots of the heart, merging naturalness with structure, emotion with restraint,” the bride added.
It was modern and not religious, and the couple chose not to include additional rituals, keeping the focus on what was truly theirs.
The exchange of wedding bands remained central. They were drawn to the meaning of the Italian word fede, derived from the Latin fides, which connects to trust. For them, it symbolized a broader promise to always support one another.
“We expected a ceremony that felt very personal and unique to us.”
They selected passages reflecting their philosophy of love and life together. The soundtrack included songs meaningful to their story, chosen in a desert island discs style. They kept the ceremony concise and intentional, including only what resonated.
Cocktail Hour
The cocktail hour unfolded in the castle gardens. Anita Catering curated a seafood station featuring oysters, shrimp, citrus accents, and seasonal ingredients. White hydrangeas formed a lush backdrop, reinforcing the green and white palette established earlier in the day.
Smaller bites were presented with attention to texture and color. Guests moved through the garden spaces, discovering different corners of the castle while reconnecting with one another.
Private Moment
Right after the ceremony, Corinne and Pier stepped away together. They describe it as a moment to breathe before portraits and festivities continued. Trusting LaLindi allowed them to remain present instead of worrying about logistics.
During their portraits in the castle courtyards and stone corridors, the contrast between architectural structure and fluid fabric became even more striking. The imagery feels intimate and cinematic, reflecting the careful eye of Petit de la Crème.
Decor & Design
The visual narrative shifted dramatically as the evening progressed. While green and white defined the ceremony, dinner introduced a bold red and silver palette. LaLindi surprised guests with a tablescape unlike anything they expected.
“Red and silver were the main characters of the table for a flower installation that felt bold and elegant at the same time,“ added the couple. Gerbera and anthurium were installed into custom silver structures created by La Fiorellaia. Metallic surfaces reflected candlelight, creating warmth and depth within the vaulted corridor.
Menus were placed at each setting with the guest’s name written in lipstick, adding a playful yet sophisticated detail. The earlier woven greenery connected seamlessly to this modern dinner setting, showing how natural textures can evolve into something graphic and contemporary.
Reception
The reception took place beneath vaulted ceilings, where long tables extended through an arched passageway. Candlelight flickered down the center, and handheld fans added movement and visual rhythm among the guests.
Music by Giulio Maddii guided the evening’s tempo. The couple’s improvised dinner entrance quickly became a highlight. The groom mentioned the spontaneous dance as one of his favorite memories of the night.
Speeches from the witnesses added emotion, and the cake cutting brought a surge of excitement. A large strawberry-topped cake stood as a vibrant focal point. Later, red lighting transformed the interior into a dynamic party setting.
