Jade and Rick love story began a decade ago at a park party, orchestrated by mutual friends. Throughout their 20s, they built a bond that led them to embark on a remarkable journey, culminating in a celebration of love on the stunning Skiathos Island, Greece.

Jade shares: “Rick proposed to me during an adventure day he had planned. We had just moved to the Sunshine Coast, Australia, and he took me horse riding and booked a fantastic room on the water in Noosa. We then took a vintage speedboat around the river and docked at a yummy restaurant for dinner. It was so special.”

The couple envisioned a relaxed atmosphere with island vibes and a classic Greek experience. The couple, assisted by a Greek-based wedding planner, meticulously crafted their dream celebration over a year. Exploring venues in 2022, Jade and Rick struggled to find the perfect fit until a serendipitous recollection of a bar from Jade’s past guided them to their ideal venue.

Skiathos Island, Greece, set the stage for Jade and Rick’s wedding, a place close to Jade’s heart as her family hails from this picturesque destination.

Jade’s wedding look radiated summer elegance. She opted for a silk Mirror Palais gown with a train for a touch of classic sophistication. Her choice of low-heeled mules from By Far complemented the simplicity of her attire. Jade did her makeup, embracing a natural look, while a simple blow wave completed her hair.

Next to Jade were her friends, who also partook in the joy of this remarkable morning with her.
Rick paid tribute to the Greek theme with a linen suit, embroidered white short-sleeve shirt, olive tree branch pocket adornment, and leather slides.
Beside Rick stood his beloved parents, helping him done his wedding suit. Their presence added a touch of familial warmth to the already magical atmosphere.
Skiathos Island, Greece, set the stage for Jade and Rick’s wedding, a place close to Jade’s heart as her family hails from this picturesque destination. The ceremony unfolded at a quaint swimming spot on the rocks, reminiscent of Jade’s childhood adventures.
To combat the sun during the outdoor ceremony, the couple provided white fans, adorned with their names in a Greek-style font, ensuring both style and practicality.
The guests gathered for the ceremony on a stone platform by the water. Rick stood among the attendees, eagerly awaiting his beloved, knowing that in a few moments, they would exchange vows of love. And then, Jade appeared, descending a staircase at the base of which her parents awaited. They escorted Jade to her groom. During the wedding ceremony, olive wreaths, held by groomsmen, hovered above their heads following tradition. It was a lovely ceremony.
The celebration continued with a boat cruise to the ancestral island of Tsougria, followed by a reception at Borzoi, a classic Greek restaurant and bar.

Sofia, the talented photographer from Quint Photography, was a constant presence beside the newlyweds, capturing the essence of their special moments. She skillfully crafted stunning shots during the island ceremony, creating timeless portraits in urban settings, and successfully conveyed the emotional energy of the beautiful Greek wedding atmosphere. Sofia’s approach to photography is marked by warmth, heartfelt moments, and elegance, making her an integral part of preserving the memories of this enchanting day.

Inspired by English artist Fee Greening, they collaborated with Australian artist Rosie Eddy to create authentic place cards and a menu easel featuring illustrations of the Greek eye, shells, sun, fish, and olive branches. The tables were adorned with simple camomile flowers, a nostalgic nod to Jade’s childhood.

The entrance of lovebirds at the wedding reception was an exceptionally joyful and emotional moment. Guests greeted them with joyous exclamations, and lively music filled the air, prompting guests and the newlyweds to join in a cheerful dance, uniting everyone in celebration.

One particularly heartwarming and touching moment unfolded when Rick and Jade shared a dance with their parents. In addition to dancing with his mother, Rick also took a turn dancing with Jade’s mother—a lovely and endearing moment.
The evening reception was filled with pleasant conversations, heartfelt congratulatory speeches from close friends and family, and, of course, dancing and merriment.

In the evening, Jade swapped her gown for a party dress from Oseree, designed for dancing the night away. The mini dress, adorned with luxurious feathers along the hem and crafted from a golden, sparkling material, added a unique charm to the bride.

They wanted an unforgettable celebration that embraced Greek traditions—boat rides, plate smashing, and dancing on tables. The inspiration for their vision was drawn from the desire to create lasting memories for their guests.

Advice from the couple:

• Plan what feels authentic to you, and don’t overthink it. Your wedding day should be about you! Enjoy the day, as it goes by so quickly.
