Here is what a Greek wedding looks like in 2026, in fifteen venues across five regions, each one built around a different kind of day. Together they cover 17th century family estates and private towers, Athens Riviera institutions with three decades of nightlife behind them, caldera terraces on Santorini, a working farm in the Cretan hills, and an entire Corfiot village that was built from scratch and then preserved.

Whether you are planning a ceremony where the Parthenon does the work for you, a reception the guests will still be describing in September, a multicultural celebration that needs a venue genuinely fluent in it, or a three day island takeover nobody has ruined yet, this is your edit.

Glyfada, Athens

Very few wedding venues sit inside 550 acres of pine forest fifteen minutes from a capital city. Golf Privé does, on the historic golf course at Glyfada. The Manor House is the colonial style mansion at the centre of it, a house that spent decades collecting international celebrities before it was stripped back and reopened in the summer of 2019. It seats 650 indoors, divides into three separate rooms, and pushes past 2,000 once the balcony and gardens are counted in.

Downstairs, the Colonial restaurant takes the welcome dinner and the lunch the day after, built on Greek produce with a designation of origin and Mediterranean cooking. The kitchen also runs a zero waste programme that has been externally audited rather than announced in a brochure, which is still unusual on this coast.

Koropi, Attica

This is the estate Athens planners name when a wedding has 500 guests and a cultural rulebook attached. Orizontes Estate has been running Arabic, American, African and Asian celebrations since 2010, which means the timings, the catering rules and the sheer guest volume are handled as the standard brief rather than as a complication. Very few venues in Attica can say that and mean it.

The setting reads closer to Palm Springs: nine acres of exotic palms, engineered waterfalls and two large pools, with a clean lined building that lets the whole thing work in February as easily as in August. Outdoors it takes up to 2,000 for cocktails, indoors around 700 when the weather turns. The airport is fifteen minutes away and the city centre is forty, which is the ideal distance for a venue you want guests to leave reluctantly.

Set along one of the most spectacular stretches of the Athens Riviera, Island Resort is one of Greece’s most iconic waterfront event destinations. Surrounded by gardens, sea views and a private coastline, the resort offers five distinctive venues, each with its own character and atmosphere, allowing celebrations of every scale and style.

From elegant seaside ceremonies and sophisticated receptions to intimate gatherings and grand destination weddings, every event is enhanced by exceptional gastronomy, impeccable service and breathtaking natural surroundings. The resort also features a private beach, a picturesque chapel overlooking the sea and a private dock, offering the unique possibility for guests to arrive by yacht. Complementing the resort experience, the Cabanas, located within Island Resort Athens Riviera, offer luxury accommodation, seamlessly combining privacy, bespoke hospitality and refined design with effortless access to the resort’s exceptional event venues, private beach and vibrant lifestyle.

Lagonisi, Attica

A rare and historic estate on the Athens Riviera, Pyrgos Melissourgou has belonged to the same family since 1836. Its 350-year old stone tower stands above Lagonisi on the coastal road to Cape Sounion. Fifteen acres of olive groves slope down to terraces and the open Aegean, offering uninterrupted sea views and some of the most photographed sunsets in Attica. The chapel of Agios Georgios sits within the grounds for your ceremony.

The layout is built for movement, with wide lawns carrying a procession straight into dinner, a swimming pool resembling a natural lake, and a permanent covered structure protects the evening under any weather conditions. The estate welcomes groups from twenty to eight hundred guests. Athens International Airport is fifteen minutes away, a major advantage for couples travelling from abroad.

Spata, Attica

This tower is built entirely from the ruins of other buildings. In 1980 George Belbas started collecting the wreckage of demolished houses around Spata: stone blocks, marble, wooden doorjambs, wellheads, old Byzantine roof tiles, and nails pulled from the tracks of the abandoned Athens to Lavrio railway. He assembled all of it on his family estate at Petreza. Seen from a distance, the broken masses and mismatched roofs of Pyrgos Petreza read as a small village rather than a venue, which is precisely the effect he was chasing.

It hosts one event at a time, always, so privacy here is the business model rather than a promise in an email. Six column free halls run to 800 square metres, the balcony adds another 400, and the garden covers 1,800. The estate makes its own wine and organic olive oil, and the chef builds the menu around what the couple actually wants to eat rather than around a package sheet.

Messinia, Peloponnese

Costa Navarino exists because a shipping magnate wanted to protect his homeland instead of selling it. Captain Vassilis Constantakopoulos envisioned the destination in Messinia with sustainability at its heart and The Romanos, is its most complete wedding proposition offering an enchanting setting for a destination wedding in Greece. Easily accessible via Kalamata International Airport or approximately a three-hour drive from Athens, it sits in Navarino Dunes with a kilometre of gold sand in front of it, ancient olive groves behind, and the Ionian doing all the colour work.

Ceremonies take place at the chapels of St Sampson in Navarino Dunes or St Eleni in Navarino Agora, followed by a celebration in the destination’s inspiring outdoor or indoor venues. Options range from landscaped gardens and golden sands overlooking the Ionian Sea to elegant indoor spaces including the Romanos gardens, The Dunes Beach, Anax Lounge or the magnificent Great Hall which can accommodate up to 1,600 guests for a cocktail reception. Every wedding can be thoughtfully tailored to reflect the couple’s individual vision and preferences, brought to life through impeccable service and meticulous attention to every detail.

Historical centre, Athens

There are Picassos on the walls and the Parthenon in the window. THE DOLLI at Acropolis occupies a 1920s mansion a few minutes’ walk from the ruins, run as a hôtel maison rather than a traditional hotel, with 46 rooms, suites and private apartments. The art collection runs from Picasso, Jean Cocteau, Modigliani and Lucio Fontana to Les Lalanne creatures and ancient Greek and Egyptian artefacts placed throughout the building.

Two settings define the celebration. The open-air pool looks directly onto the Acropolis, creating a backdrop that needs little decoration, while THE DOLLI Rooftop Restaurant opens onto views of the Parthenon, the Erechtheion and both Agoras. With its rooftop panoramas, central Athens location and intimate scale, it is made for cocktail receptions, pre-wedding gatherings, intimate weddings and private celebrations. For couples who want art, history and the city’s most unforgettable view in one address, THE DOLLI is difficult to match.

Athens Riviera

The Temple of Poseidon has stood on the headland above this resort since the fifth century BC. Cape Sounio uses it properly: beach ceremonies with the columns on the horizon, three private beaches, a pine forest and ancient ruins inside the grounds. Dinner happens at Yali Waterfront Restaurant, which puts water on very nearly every side of the table.

The practical case is just as strong as the mythological one. A winter wedding is not only possible here — oit can be truly spectacular, unlike on many of the Greek islands, where the season brings more limitations. With the airport, central Athens, and the main ferry ports all within easy reach, guests can effortlessly turn the celebration into a week-long getaway. Accommodating up to 350 guests, the venue is equally suited to grand destination weddings and intimate seaside celebrations.

Psarou Beach, Mykonos

Psarou is where the superyachts anchor, and Mykonos Blu holds one of the island’s most coveted addresses. Set directly above the beach that has become synonymous with Mykonos, the resort combines whitewashed bungalows, elegant suites and private-pool villas with uninterrupted views across the Aegean.

Ceremonies and receptions unfold at the Ocean Balcony or L’Archipel, both overlooking the sea, with dedicated wedding specialists creating bespoke menus for every couple. Equally suited to romantic proposals, elegant elopements and intimate destination weddings, the property offers an effortlessly glamorous setting for celebrations of every kind. Blending Cycladic elegance with the unmistakable allure of Mykonos, Mykonos Blu captures the island at its most iconic.

Agios Sostis, Mykonos

This is the side of Mykonos defined by deliberate discretion. Mykonos Lolita is an intimate retreat with 33 rooms and suites on a secluded private beach beyond Agios Sostis, where rooms are designed as cocoons, a small restaurant hangs dramatically from the cliffside, and two whitewashed churches sit above the deep blue Aegean. One of them becomes yours for the ceremony.

Guest numbers remain intentionally intimate, reflecting the character of the property itself. Offering complete exclusivity and accommodating weddings of up to 150 guests, Mykonos Lolita is designed for couples seeking a private, boutique celebration with a true sense of place. For those drawn to Cycladic light, an Aegean chapel and a more personal expression of the island, it offers a Mykonos experience that feels effortlessly secluded, timeless and authentically unforgettable.

Heraklion, Crete

The architectural reference here is drawn from the water palaces of the Minoans and the Venetian elegance that followed them, and Amirandes commits to the vision completely. Spread across a 70,000-square-metre beachfront estate near Heraklion, the resort unfolds through lagoons, stone columns and classical details, creating a setting where Cretan history meets contemporary luxury beneath a striking blue sky.

The suites and villas have been thoughtfully refreshed, the private beach belongs entirely to the property, and a charming chapel within the grounds means a religious ceremony can take place without leaving the resort. Couples can also exchange vows on the spectacular deck suspended above the water, while the Palm Grove and Pool Area provide dramatic settings for unforgettable receptions and bespoke celebrations. With Heraklion Airport just minutes away by car and capacity for weddings of up to 200 guests, Amirandes offers the rare combination of effortless access, grand destination scale and the intimacy of a true Cretan escape.

Adele, Rethymno, Crete

Everything on your wedding table comes from the land surrounding it. Agreco Farms is a genuine working farm across four hectares in the hills above Rethymno, created as a living example of traditional Cretan agriculture, with its own olive press, organic cultivation, vineyards, honey production and a range of authentic Cretan products that carry the taste of the island beyond the farm itself.

The taverna serves a six-course Cretan menu inspired by family recipes and prepared with ingredients grown and produced on the estate. The chapel, set within the landscape and able to host up to 200 guests, offers a beautiful setting for ceremonies surrounded by the very fields that shape the feast afterwards. A wedding here becomes a full Cretan experience, with local music, dancing and traditional kritika songs woven naturally into the celebration. For couples who want their wedding menu to tell the story of a place, Agreco Farms delivers something far beyond a meal.

Gouvia, Corfu

Somebody built an entire Corfiot village and then preserved it as a living piece of Ionian heritage. Danilia Village is a unique replica of a traditional Corfiot village, authentic, colourful and private, nestled in the verdant greenery of Corfu. With village squares, traditional cafés, a folklore museum, vineyard, olive mill, old typography and a beautiful chapel, stepping inside feels like entering a picture-perfect version of old Corfu.

Receptions here are reserved for guests of Corfu Imperial, creating an experience that feels exclusive from the moment guests arrive. The village offers a unique culinary experience, with traditional Greek cuisine prepared using fresh, organic farm produce in the village kitchens. Able to host celebrations of significant scale, Danilia Village brings together authentic surroundings, Corfiot hospitality and a setting that gives a wedding something most venues cannot recreate: the feeling of having an entire traditional village as your backdrop.

Kommeno Peninsula, Corfu

One wedding venue in Greece comes with its own private island. Corfu Imperial occupies the tip of the exclusive Kommeno peninsula, surrounded by olive groves, marble, palms, secluded beach coves and a long seafront promenade. Ceremonies can take place on Nissaki, the resort’s own island, at Yali Restaurant above the clear Ionian waters, or at Aristos.

Corfu Imperial is a destination in itself, with a collection of wedding settings spread across the peninsula, allowing couples to create celebrations that move between private islands, waterfront restaurants, gardens and grand reception spaces. The villa collection is among the strongest on Corfu, from the Medusa Estate to Villa Peninsula, with the Medusa Estate providing an exclusive private setting for wedding celebrations. The Cinema Deck adds another distinctive option for ceremonies, while the open-air cinema gives guests something memorable for the nights surrounding the wedding.
