At WedVibes, we’re always drawn to the stories behind the aesthetics—the vision boards, voice notes, and late-night Pinterest scrolls that quietly shape iconic wedding moments. So, we did what we do best: reached out to real brides who are planning weddings their way. From spontaneous proposals to guest lists made on Google Docs, these brides are rewriting the rules and curating celebrations that feel less like tradition and more like self-expression.

In this series, they open up about the moodboards they can’t stop tweaking, the TikTok trends they’re into, and the vendors who just get it. Expect real love stories, real planning highs (and lows), and plenty of inspiration for your own “main character” moment.

Meet The Couple

My name is Liva, and my fiancé is Alex, and we live in Las Vegas. Alex is an attorney, and I am a wedding planner! We love to travel, cook, and love live music, and spending time at the beach.

The Proposal

Alex and I always take an annual birthday trip to New York, but this year, we added Italy to the mix. Since we’d been designing my engagement ring a few months prior, I suspected a proposal might happen, but Alex convinced my friends and I  that it wouldn’t be on this trip. He even threw me off by gifting me a beautiful necklace prior to the engagement. On our second day in Italy, we took the train from Milan to Lake Como, planning to visit Villa del Balbianello.

After finally arriving, we were put on a private tour, which seemed unusual but not overly suspicious. As we reached a scenic lookout at the end of our tour, I noticed a beautifully set table with champagne. I was stunned but still convinced it wasn’t happening—until Alex turned me around, got down on one knee, and proposed. I was completely surprised and overwhelmed! I was also caught off guard as it was Alex’s birthday. We celebrated with champagne, took in the view, and had a private photoshoot around the villa. It was absolutely perfect—especially impressive since I’m a wedding planner and not easily surprised!

The Wedding Vision

When and where is your wedding taking place?
Alex and I are getting married in Tuscany, Italy, in October of 2026.

Describe your wedding in 3 words.
We want our wedding to feel intentional, intimate, and beautifully designed.

What are three non-negotiable elements for your big day?

Hiring a wedding planner I trust, a huge emphasis on guest experience, creating a stress-free environment for Alex and I and those around us.

Planning Process

What’s been the highlight of your planning process so far?
The highlight of my planning process was touring venues in Tuscany with my mom! We rented a car and drove through the countryside for several days, and it was such a special core memory for me. The only thing I would have changed was that Alex would be able to join us.

What’s surprised you most about wedding planning?
I haven’t been surprised by too much yet, seeing as I do know more than the average bride, from working in the industry – but I’ve loved all the support and love from my industry friends and vendors I’ve met so far in starting my own planning process!

Is there an Instagram account, TikTok trend, or aesthetic you’re secretly loving right now?
Hard to choose because there are SO many, but White Eden Weddings just produced the most magnificent wedding in France, I believe, and I’ve been fangirling over every detail.
