After investing so much time into creating the perfect seating chart, your escort card display deserves just as much attention. More than just a way to guide guests to their seats, escort cards are an opportunity to infuse personality, creativity, and even a bit of fun into your wedding day. “We really make an effort to get to know our couples and their love stories,” says Heather Balliet, founder of Amorology, a wedding planning and design studio known for their interactive and one-of-a-kind displays. “By interviewing our couples, there’s always something meaningful that jumps out at us, and we use those unique elements from their lives and brainstorm together as a team to create something that is unique and hasn’t been seen before.”

While creating it on their own might seem tempting for some couples, working with experienced pros can take the vision to the next level. “Often when people attempt to DIY these projects, the escort may not be able to withstand wind or aren’t created to a level of what they need to be for weddings. Experts know what’s logistically doable and safe,” Heather explains. “They’ve seen what works and what doesn’t—and can ensure the final result is curated for that specific couple, secure, and memorable.”

From travel-inspired moments to sentimental nods to your shared story, the possibilities are endless—especially when you treat your escort display as part of the overall design experience. “We always take into account the space we’re creating in, making sure everything feels cohesive and consistent with the overall vibe and feeling of the venue, as well as the design of the reception,” Heather of Amorology adds.

Honey I’m Home

The talented wedding planning team at Amorology turned a private love story into a sweet guest experience with this escort card display. “Coined after their nickname for each other and inspired by their inside joke of being ‘birdlike,’” explains lead planner and founder Heather, “this idea was rooted in something beautifully personal. When the couple began dating in high school, the groom playfully suggested waiting to call each other “Honey” for when they were married. On their wedding day, using the nickname “honey” for the first time as husband and wife, as well as being each other’s home, honey jars were calligraphed with guests names to also use as a take home.”
