All the world is talking about the proposal of the year – Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are officially engaged! What began with a friendship bracelet at her Eras Tour stop in Kansas City blossomed into one of pop culture’s most talked-about romances.

July 2023: The Bracelet
Travis Kelce attended Swift’s Eras Tour concert at Arrowhead Stadium with a friendship bracelet with his phone number, hoping to give it to her. But he never got the chance. On his New Heights podcast, he admitted: “I was a little butt-hurt I didn’t get to hand it to her. She didn’t want to meet me, so I took it personal.”
As it turned out, this move caught Swift’s attention. Later, she told TIME: “This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell. We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other. By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple.”
September 24, 2023: First Public Appearance
Swift attended her first Kansas City Chiefs game, sitting with Kelce’s mom, Donna Kelce, before leaving the stadium with Travis. She quickly became a regular at games, including during the Chiefs’ playoff run and Super Bowl victory. Kelce, in turn, supported her on tour, flying across the world for Eras performances.

October 14, 2023: SNL Night Out
The couple was spotted in New York City, where they both made surprise appearances on Saturday Night Live before heading to the show’s after-party hand-in-hand.

November 11, 2023: “Karma Is the Guy on the Chiefs”
During a show in Buenos Aires, Swift made their relationship Eras official by changing the lyrics of her finale song, “Karma,” to: “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs, coming straight home to me.” The crowd went wild.
January 28, 2024: The Post-Win Kiss
After the Chiefs’ AFC Championship win against the Baltimore Ravens, Swift rushed onto the field to greet Kelce with a tearful kiss – one of their first major public displays of affection.

February 11, 2024: The Super Bowl
Swift flew straight from Tokyo to Las Vegas to cheer Kelce on in Super Bowl LVIII. After the Chiefs’ overtime victory, she celebrated on the field.

In one of their most iconic moments, Kelce joined Swift on stage at Wembley Stadium, carrying her in his arms, before her performance of “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.”

September 11, 2024: VMAs
While accepting Video of the Year at the MTV Video Music Awards, Swift thanked Kelce: “Everything this man touches turns to happiness and fun and magic, so I want to thank him for adding that to our shoot.”
August 13, 2025: Hinting at Forever
Appearing on Kelce’s record-breaking New Heights podcast, Swift opened up about their love story while also promoting her upcoming album. “If this guy’s not crazy, this is sort of what I’ve been writing songs about wanting to happen to me since I was a teenager,” she said.
Swift also joked about how the podcast sparked their romance: “I owe a lot to this podcast. This podcast got me a boyfriend – ever since Travis decided to use it as his personal dating app two years ago.” Fans immediately speculated that a proposal was around the corner.
August 26, 2025: The Engagement
After nearly two years of games, tours, and love-filled moments, Kelce popped the question with an elongated cushion-cut diamond. The couple announced their engagement on Instagram with a caption that read: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
