Inside a Celebrity Stylist’s Wedding Weekend, With Ten Different Looks

Danielle, a celebrity stylist, and Brian, founder and CEO of Sync2Hire and Sherluxe Homes, met in high school. “Looking back now, we always say, ‘Can you believe we ended up with our high school crush?'” Danielle says. Even after ending up at the same university, they stayed friends, and while life took them in different directions, something always brought them back to each other. Over the past fifteen years, they crossed paths in the most unexpected places, checked in through random phone calls, and showed up for each other’s biggest moments. “We had this indescribable bond that never really went away, no matter where life took us,” she says. About two years ago, they finally got together. “It was finally our time.”

Location: Gardiner, New York, United States
Style: Earthy luxury, with a sense of restraint
Time of planning: 1 year
Number of guests: 82
Setting: Wildflower Farms
Season: Summer

The proposal came in under a year, and in true Brian fashion, he’d picked out the ring before they were even officially together, proposing within six months of dating. A month before Danielle’s thirtieth birthday, they took a trip to his family home in Delray Beach, a place especially meaningful to their story. Both love watching sunrises and sunsets together, so when Brian asked her to come downstairs to catch the sunset before dinner, she didn’t think twice.

They walked to “their spot” in the backyard, and the moment she sat down, he said, “I want to show you something.” “In that moment, I knew,” she says. He got down on one knee, and she dropped down with him. “We laughed, we cried, we talked about how we are here after all this life later.” They spent the rest of the week just the two of them, “the time of our lives.”

What was the inspiration behind your wedding?

We were married on my grandparents’ wedding anniversary, which made the date especially meaningful to our families. Having everyone stay on the property made the wedding feel like an immersive, multi-event experience.

I worked closely with Mudari Creative throughout the planning process, with the goal of creating a weekend that felt cohesive as a whole, while allowing each event to have its own distinct atmosphere and personality. The design was rooted in the natural beauty of the property, with a palette of warm neutrals, creamy ivories, natural wood, and earthy tones.

I wore 10 looks throughout the celebrations, with each one thoughtfully connected to the next. I was the first bride to wear both Sept gowns from the newly debuted collection and worked directly with Sarah to incorporate bespoke elements. I found my dress just 2 months before my wedding!

The rehearsal dinner was set back into the trees, and the focal point was a custom table runner made from sourced vintage lace collected from around the world. I really wanted the table to feel like an extension of what I was wearing, so we carried that same sense of texture, romance, and collected beauty into the look.

Brian also surprised me with a vintage car as a wedding gift, which we incorporated into the welcome party. We kept the evening unexpected, with our Maid of Honor and Best Man giving their speeches there. We ended the night outside around fire pits with s’mores and a custom photo booth.

You wore ten different outfits. Can you walk us through the story behind each one?

I wore 10 looks throughout the weekend, with each one thoughtfully connected to the next and designed to complement the setting and feel of each event. As a stylist, I definitely felt the pressure to find the “perfect” looks, but I kept coming back to what felt most like me. I spent nearly a year trying on gowns, creating a custom look, and it wasn’t until just two months before the wedding that I finally found my ceremony dress. It was absolutely worth the wait and everything I was envisioning in my head.

The bride’s weekend began with a pre-event look from Alaïa, a two-piece set styled with boots for welcoming guests to the property: “Alaïa is one of my favorite designers, and the craftsmanship is truly unmatched. I wanted something that felt a little more relaxed for welcoming guests to the property, so this two-piece set paired with boots was such a fun way to do that.”

Starting off with Chloé, her whimsical femininity made so much sense for my getting ready looks. My first one was a play on a pajama set and incorporated color.

For the rehearsal dinner, I worked with bridal designer Seline Meisler to create a completely custom four-piece look that tied directly into the design of the dinner.

Welcome Party Look was just a fun one! The second I tried it on, it reminded me so much of the florals and earthiness of Wildflower Farms. I knew I had to wear it. I could immediately picture myself running around the grassy fields in it.

The second getting-ready look was designed by Chloé. This dress was so dreamy, and I adored the open-back moment. I didn’t have anything like this in my bridal wardrobe, so I knew it would be the perfect morning look. It felt effortless, romantic, and beyond bridal.

Ceremony Look was a bespoke Sept Sept Gown No. 6 paired with bespoke sleeves and Veil No. 2. I was the first bride to wear both Sept gowns from the newly debuted collection, which was such an honor. I worked directly with Sarah, the designer, to incorporate bespoke elements into each look. I actually found my wedding dress only two months before the wedding, so it all came together at the very last minute. I had never experienced that feeling of “when you know, you know” until I tried this one on. I immediately knew it was the dress. It was such a special feeling to find something that felt so completely me.

After our first dance, I wanted to change into something with less volume, and this dress was so unique and unlike anything I had tried on before. The lace bodice was such a beautiful detail and tied back to the veil I wore for the ceremony, which made the look feel connected to the rest of my bridal wardrobe. Sarah is a master at shaping the body, and I loved how sculpted and flattering the silhouette felt while still being effortless.

For the after-party, this vintage Dolce & Gabbana look sourced by Isle of Monday was so much fun and the most “me” look of the entire weekend. I wanted something that felt cool, effortless, and a little unexpected. Wearing a tank to your after-party? Absolutely!

Could You Share More About The Groom’s Look?

I started my career working for Boss in celebrity relations, so it felt right for Brian to wear Boss throughout the weekend. His wedding band was his father’s that we resized and it holds such a nice meaning. My favorite look of his was his white tuxedo jacket that he changed into for dinner.

Could You Tell Us About The Ceremony?

The ceremony was intentionally unexpected. Rather than walking down a traditional aisle, I made a long, dramatic entrance through the trees, surprising our guests. Brian’s oldest sister officiated, and draping was woven through the trees and throughout the chairs, a big design element throughout the day. The brushy florals surrounded us and were an extension of the property. We decided to do our own vows in front of all our 82 guests, and it was the most special and favorite part of the entire weekend. Everyone was sobbing!

The ceremony felt so intentional. I took a golf cart ride with my dad to a trail where we would begin our very long walk; it wasn’t until I turned the treeline and saw Brian and our guests far in the distance that I gasped, and it all hit me. It was a feeling I will always remember. I could not stop smiling the whole way down. I was just so excited and really taking in the moment.

Could You Share How The Cocktail Hour Was?

For cocktail hour, we had a candlelit baby grand piano with draping pouring out on the great porch, which created such a beautiful atmosphere as everyone gathered. From there, we moved right into a DJ for the reception and dancing.

For the florals, we wanted to create impactful, oversized moments that felt like an extension of the dreamy landscape. We incorporated abundant, organic arrangements throughout the weekend, including florals spilling out of the baby grand piano during cocktail hour and lush arrangements paired with candlelit tables at the reception. The overall feeling was romantic, earthy, and elevated, with every detail designed to feel natural to the property while still making a statement.

How Did The Reception Come Together, And What Made The Decor So Special?

The concept started with nature, an extension of the existing property. I knew I wanted drapery to be a focus throughout each event, creating a thread that tied the weekend together and connected back to each of my looks. I loved the idea of having that continuity while still letting each event feel like its own moment.

We created two long tables with florals cascading off each end, completely candlelit, and soft draping throughout the ceiling.  I wanted the room to feel warm, romantic, and a little bit magical. I was especially excited about our custom wooden and linen menus, which were personalized with each guest’s name and also served as their seating cards. It was one of those details that felt so intentional and personal to the evening.

Could You Share Your Favorite Details From The Reception?

The food & beverages at Wildflower were exceptional. We served a four-course meal, including beet salad, steak, chicken, and mushroom risotto. For dessert, we had red velvet, vanilla funfetti, and chocolate cakes, all by Miss Macs (she has been making my birthday cakes for years). Our signature cocktails were a “Spicy Shirley” & Cucumber Mojitorita that were engraved onto beautiful vases.

Some of our favorite moments were completely unplanned. Our Maid of Honor and Best Man spontaneously played piano and harmonica together, as the entire wedding ended up singing along and dancing around the candlelit outdoor piano.

What Made The Day Unique?

For the after-party, we created “Club Shirley” in honor of my new last name, Sherlock. We changed into our after-party looks and moved into a completely different speakeasy space that felt like an entirely new world from the wedding. We transformed the space with custom neon signs, cherries throughout, and a jukebox, with custom elements, merch, and, of course, dirty Shirleys! I wanted it to feel playful, unexpected, and a little bit cheeky. It was such a fun way to end the night, and we danced until 2 a.m.!

It’s so hard to choose just one most memorable moment from the wedding day. I think it was all of the emotional moments that happened completely unplanned and unexpectedly. There is so much love surrounding you on your wedding day, from the smallest interactions to the moments you share with the people closest to you, and it’s honestly indescribable. Those are the moments I’ll remember most.

Advice from the couple:

• Wedding planning was one hell of a ride, but we truly poured our hearts into every little detail, and seeing it all come together made every moment worth it and exceeded any expectations we had. The weekend was so magical, and looking back, I wish I had taken a step back during the planning process and enjoyed it more. Everyone tells you that it goes by so quickly, but you don’t really understand it until you’re living it. My biggest advice is to soak it all in, the planning, the little moments, and especially the weekend itself.

• From a stylist’s perspective, there are so many incredible bridal designers and directions you can take when curating your looks that it can quickly become overwhelming. My biggest piece of advice is to keep coming back to what feels the most like you. When you know, you know—and the right look should give you that undeniable “wow” moment.
