Alex and Cassidy met at a mutual friend’s house in their Southern California hometown, somewhere they likely wouldn’t have been that year if it weren’t for Covid. Both were living an hour north in LA, but lockdown pulled them closer to family. “It’s funny to think we grew up just ten minutes apart, the same age, with so many mutual friends, and somehow never met until then,” Cassidy says. “We like to think it was just the right timing.” They started dating right away, and within their first year together, they moved to New York City. “Looking back, it was probably one of the riskier moves we could’ve made for the relationship that early on,” she says. “But it brought us closer than we ever expected, and honestly, it’s what made us feel unbreakable.”
Location: Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
Style: Classic & Coastal
Number of guests: 100
Time of planning: 1 year
Setting: Beach, Resort
Season: Spring
One of Cassidy’s favorite memories is the first wedding they attended together as a couple, back in 2021 at The Cape Hotel in Cabo San Lucas. “We loved everything about it: the vibes, the food, just the whole feel of the place,” she says. “We told each other that when it was our turn, we wanted it to feel just like that.” Fast forward to 2024, and they were back at The Cape, walking along the sand right out front, this time celebrating the end of their New York chapter and their move back home to Newport. In the middle of the beach, Alex nervously stopped, got down on one knee, and asked her to marry him. “Standing right there, in the same spot as 2021, thinking about everything we’d built together since, it was hard to imagine a more perfect moment.”
When it came time to plan the wedding, it wasn’t really a question. It had to be there, at the place holding all those memories. “And let’s be honest, it’s hard to be in a bad mood in Cabo, plus it’s just a quick flight from home,” she says. “Recipe for the perfect destination wedding, if you ask us.”
Welcome Party & Photography
“It might sound silly, but I took a lot of inspiration from the movie The Parent Trap,” the bride says. It shaped her dress, the photoshoots, the elegance in the event details, and mostly the music, especially the opening scene and the iconic “dress up” photoshoot scene with the little girl and her mom. “I wanted it to feel classic and clean, while also maintaining the integrity of the beachy venue that we chose,” she says. Xico Gutierrez captured the entire wedding weekend, from the first welcome night to the last dance, in photos that match the feel the couple wanted.
"This wedding reminded us why we love what we do. Creatively, we felt incredibly free throughout the entire weekend. A couple who looked this incredible, a celebration designed with so much intention, and a venue like The Cape & Acre gave us the perfect canvas to create."

Fashion
Cassidy tried on almost every dress, every style, and nearly every designer out at the time. She knew nothing about what she wanted and had no bias toward any designer either. “It became very clear after visiting the Danielle Frankel Studio in LA that I had found the perfect designer,” she says, and ultimately the perfect dress, one that felt authentic to her personal style. A slicked-back bun is “very me,” and it was exactly what she wanted from the look: a bright, clean face and a classic dress.
Her shoes were satin flats from Loeffler Randall. For the after party, she changed into Seline Meisler, from NYC, with Danielle Frankel shoes. She wore her mother’s pearl earrings to complement the ocean atmosphere, along with a simple diamond necklace Alex gave her for Christmas one year.
Alex wore a custom-made tuxedo by Andrew Paplovich for Creme Tailors in LA, a look suited to the classic, clean feel the couple wanted. He finished it with Gucci shoes.
First Look
Before the ceremony, Cassidy and Alex shared a first look, just the two of them, a quiet and wonderful time together. Right after, they took their portraits, which turned out as beautiful as the moment itself.
"Our goal was simple: when the day arrived, she wouldn't have to think about the photos for a single second. She could be fully present, celebrate with the people she loves, and trust us to quietly take care of the rest."

Ceremony
The ceremony took place on the ledge overlooking the ocean. Cassidy wanted statement florals that filled the space without blocking the view, and green-and-white arrangements did exactly that, set against dark wood chairs. The mix of vintage-romantic florals and modern chairs felt just right.
"It was unique for us to have our friends from all over the world come to celebrate with us! It’s a quick nonstop hop from SoCal but we had some friends travel in from as far as Switzerland and dozens travel in from New York. This felt incredibly unique and very special."
The Couple
Cocktail Hour & Special Moments
Cassidy and Alex took over the rooftop of The Cape for the cocktail hour, then moved to the other side for the reception. The design was meant to be interactive and fun from start to finish. It began with a traditional woman wearing a skirt full of tequila shots, then moved through a carefully selected seating chart and a family-style dinner, all in an intimate rooftop setting with saxophone and drum set entertainment.
Golden hour gave the couple a wonderful chance for photos overlooking the ocean, the warm light settling over the water behind them.
Reception
The couple chose leather-bound menu books that read like a regular bar menu, skipping bar and welcome signage altogether, and featuring two cocktails they typically drink while staying at the resort. They skipped “his and hers” wording and instead wove special pieces of their lives into more discreet details of the weekend’s design, which you’ll find in the menu books. The reception began with their first dance. To keep the party going, late-night sliders came out with trays of French fries, cigarettes, and custom matchbooks on the dance floor.
Into The Night
Among so many unforgettable moments, the couple’s favorite was when the dance floor opened up. “There is no high like finally being able to let loose and dance the night away with your new husband and closest friends and family,” Cassidy says.
Advice from the couple:
• This will most likely be the only weekend in your life when you get to hang out with all your favorite people, eat all your favorite food, drink your favorite drinks, and dance to all your favorite songs in a location entirely curated by you. It’s beyond special and worth every moment, so soak it in before it’s over!
