Soft Glam and Vintage Cars on Amalfi Coast Cliffs

Chelsea and Joe traveled to Rome and Positano, Italy, for the engagement photos of a lifetime, with Leidy and Josh Fournier as their photographers. With the Amalfi Coast as their backdrop, a vintage red Alfa Romeo as their ride, and multiple outfit changes styled to match each location, the couple created a series of elegant looks and unforgettable moments that will live on in their home, in their memories, and eventually, with their children.

While Chelsea and Joe are getting married at Greencrest Manor in Michigan, their hearts have always been drawn to Italy. “We initially dreamed of a destination wedding in Italy, but we wanted to celebrate with our closest friends and family,” Chelsea explained. Instead of changing their dream, they brought Italy into their story by traveling to the Amalfi Coast for their engagement shoot. The iconic landscapes of Amalfi and Positano gave them everything they needed: dramatic cliffs, pastel towns, and sparkling sea views that matched the timeless elegance they envisioned.

"The enchanting blend of rugged cliffs, cascading bougainvillea, and historic charm made Amalfi a truly one-of-a-kind destination for our engagement."

The couple’s vision came together with help from many sources. “First and foremost, our photographers, Josh and Leidy, were a huge influence,” Chelsea said. The Fourniers had already worked in Italy and brought expert guidance, from navigating train stations to recommending restaurants. Chelsea also looked to celebrity weddings like Sofia Richie’s and gathered ideas from Instagram. But in the end, she said, “We added our own unique twist to make everything feel truly ours.” Every outfit, pose, and backdrop reflected a refined yet modern take on destination elegance.

One of the standout visuals from the shoot was the classic red Alfa Romeo Spider, rented through Positano Vintage. The couple drove through the coastal roads, posing with the top down against steep cliffs and turquoise waters. Joe wore a light grey blazer, a white open-collar shirt, and black pants, while Chelsea paired the moment with bold sunglasses and her short white dress. The vintage car helped set the mood, giving the whole shoot a cinematic energy that matched their European dream.

Chelsea’s wardrobe was filled with sophisticated details. She wore several dresses from Club London, Revolve, and Lulus, each one carefully styled to match the setting. For the car scene, she wore a short halter dress from Club London paired with Lulus heels with bow accents. Her second look, a strapless mini with pearl-detailed mesh gloves, added a playful yet polished touch. On the boat, she changed into a one-shoulder white dress that flowed with the sea breeze. And for the final nighttime shoot on the beach, she chose a strapless tiered dress from Lulus with sparkling heels.

Her beauty look evolved alongside her wardrobe. On day one, Chelsea wore Hollywood waves tucked behind both ears. The second day started with a half-up, half-down style, later twisted into a soft updo. “Each of these styles really captured the classic, elegant vibe I was going for,” she shared. Her makeup, created by Emma Moretti, stayed consistent with a soft glam feel. “I didn’t want anything too heavy, just a refined, old-money feel that highlighted a more effortless elegance.” Pearl earrings and accessories from Untamed Petals, Revolve, and Lulus completed each look.

During the second day in Positano, the couple felt like celebrities. “Behind Leidy and the makeup team, a group of people started taking photos of us, cars were honking as they passed by, and we could really feel the excitement in the air,” Chelsea remembered. The buzz around them gave the shoot a special energy. “We figured most of the onlookers thought we had just gotten married and were sending their congratulations.” That joyful chaos became part of the story—an unexpected crowd, spontaneous cheers, and a little extra glamour on the cliffs of the Amalfi Coast.

"It felt like we brought my Pinterest board to life, and honestly, the photos turned out even better than the inspiration!"

For their boat ride along the Amalfi Coast, Chelsea changed into a one-shoulder white dress that moved beautifully with the sea breeze. The turquoise-trimmed boat set the perfect scene as the sun dipped toward the horizon. Joe wore the same light grey blazer from earlier, now styled more casually as they leaned into each other, laughing and holding hands. “The choice of Rome and Positano as the shoot locations had a major impact on the entire photoshoot,” Chelsea shared. Their quiet moments on the boat felt intimate and cinematic, captured beautifully by The Fourniers, who preserved every soft glance and golden shimmer on the water.

"We made unforgettable memories and had the best time."
