Atmosphere shapes everything. The right venue sets the rhythm of the celebration, guides the mood of the weekend, and even influences which vendors you bring in to bring the vision to life. And yet, choosing a venue today can feel like standing in front of an endless horizon. The world is full of remarkable places: islands with quiet coves, design-led retreats, mountain hideaways. In this era of abundant choice, we hope this guide becomes a clear and inspiring blueprint for couples searching for something memorable and beautifully grounded.
Manda Worthington, top wedding planner and founder of Mae&Co Creative, shared venues she considers her true gems. These locations span the globe and stand out not only for their surroundings, but for the way they shape the wedding experience from the moment guests arrive. They’re destinations worth traveling to, with or without a celebration.
One&Only Kéa Island feels almost unreal. Manda calls it “the most elevated version of summer camp you could ever dream of,” a private world of hidden coves, quiet paths, and wide terraces overlooking the Aegean. Set on one of the Cyclades’ most coveted beaches and just 45 minutes by speedboat from Athens, the resort offers cliffside villas with private pools, uninterrupted sea views, and vibrant cuisine. For weddings of 120–150 guests, it strikes an ideal balance between intimacy and luxury. It’s a place where the landscape naturally becomes part of the celebration.

Kona Village has a way of stopping you in your tracks. “Every time I’m here, I have to remind myself it’s real — it’s that picturesque. The design is thoughtful, the food is incredible, and the level of service is unmatched. It feels like stepping into a postcard, ” says Manda Worthington.
And it’s easy to see why. Spread across 81 acres along Kahuwai Bay, the resort blends classic thatched-roof hale with lava-sculpted terrain, vibrant flora, and a shoreline that feels remarkably pure. Its careful renewal preserved the spirit of hoʻokipa: warm, generous Hawaiian hospitality rooted in genuine connection. This is a place that earns a spot on any travel list.

This is Italy’s best-kept secret. Manda Worthington, owner and founder of Mae&Co Creative, describes Mezzatorre simply and perfectly: “It’s not Capri, not Amalfi. It’s quieter, more refined, and endlessly charming. Between the terraces, the thermal spa, and those iconic striped umbrellas, it’s everything you want in an Italian island wedding but without the obvious crowds.”
Set on a rocky promontory above the Gulf of Naples, the hotel’s historic watchtower, sea-facing decks, and lush Mediterranean setting create a peaceful, captivating atmosphere. Verdant landscapes and healing spring waters give the property its signature Ischia character. With 80–100 guests, a celebration here is balanced and chic: intimate in size, generous in experience.

Manda describes Amanemu as being all about experience, noting that the architecture is stunning, the food is exceptional, and the guest journey is truly one of a kind. She loves how it feels less like hosting an event and more like shaping a weekend where design, culture, and hospitality come together seamlessly. Tucked beside Ago Bay and surrounded by the forested hills of Ise-Shima, the retreat draws inspiration from traditional ryokan living. Mineral-rich hot springs, quiet woodland paths, and views of a calm, open coastline create a rhythm that invites you to slow down. Amanemu is a sanctuary of restorative peace, deeply connected to Japan’s landscape.

Complete seclusion and harmony with nature meet exceptional service at Yazz Collective. Hidden inside a private cove and surrounded by lush cliffs, it’s the kind of place where days naturally slow down and everything feels close to the water. Manda shares that arriving here by boat sets the tone right away, and everything about it feels special: from the unreal water to the endless activities woven into the landscape. The resort blends modern design with a relaxed, barefoot spirit. A wedding at Yazz Collective carries that rare mix of privacy, beauty, and atmosphere that’s hard to find anywhere else.

La Residencia carries that soft, organic energy that Deià is known for — mountains, light, and a timeless calm that settles over everything. “It always feels like a dream,” adds planner Manda Worthington of Mae&Co Creative, noting how perfectly it suits weddings of 80–100 guests.
For centuries, the estate has drawn writers, painters, and musicians, shaping its enduring bohemian spirit. Today, terraced gardens, resident artists, and views of the Tramuntana mountains create a setting that feels both artistic and grounded. Candle-lit dinners, swims framed by mountain peaks, and the quiet charm of the village all add to its appeal.

“San Miguel is one of my favorite cities in the world,” Manda shares, adding that she loves how the celebration naturally spills into the streets and energy of San Miguel. For her, Casa de Sierra Nevada is not just a venue but a full-immersion experience where art, food, music, and vibrant culture shape the entire experience. The hotel is composed of six historic 17th- and 18th-century houses with courtyards, terraces, gardens, and water-filled corners dotted with blooming flowerpots. Stucco walls, tiled baths, and carved ceilings preserve its heritage while blending with modern comforts. A destination that lets the city’s magic become part of the celebration.
