Taylor and Sam met while studying at the University of Wyoming. Shortly after meeting, Taylor went to study abroad in Europe, but that didn’t stop Sam from asking her out. Their first date was unforgettable—they spontaneously met in Iceland while traveling! What stands out about Taylor and Sam’s relationship is how much fun they have together. Now living in Houston, they love traveling and spending time outdoors.

When they started planning their wedding, Taylor and Sam knew they wanted an intimate celebration that truly felt like them. They chose Sam’s family’s beautiful home in Colorado as the venue. Their goal was a relaxed day where they felt at home with their friends and family but also upscale and stylish. They wanted to highlight the natural beauty of the mountains and the charm of Sam’s family home. Inspired by the minimal and modern style of Iceland, this aesthetic was reflected in their outfits and decor. Their photographer, Haley Hawn, beautifully captured the cozy atmosphere and these thoughtful touches. She used both digital and film photography to perfectly showcase the essence of Taylor and Sam’s special day.

The entire wedding morning was filled with love, happiness, and a sense of calm before the beautiful ceremony that awaited.

Taylor’s bridal look was simple yet elegant, perfectly complementing the intimate and stylish nature of the celebration. She wore a sleek, satin dress draped beautifully, enhancing her natural beauty. Taylor’s hair, styled in loose waves, framed her face softly, while her minimal makeup highlighted her features perfectly, giving her a radiant and natural glow. Her bouquet, a mix of soft pink and white roses with delicate greenery, added a touch of romance.

As Taylor opened a special gift, her face lit up with a warm smile, showing her joy and appreciation. Her bridesmaids, dressed in blush pink dresses, surrounded her with laughter and support, making the morning even more memorable.

Taylor and Sam’s wedding ceremony took place in a beautiful backyard near a river, surrounded by nature. The couple exchanged vows under a canopy of trees, creating an intimate atmosphere. Emotions were high as they held hands and looked into each other’s eyes, reflecting their deep love and commitment. The couple’s friends and family watched as they exchanged their vows, sharing in the heartfelt moment.

After the vows, the newlyweds sealed their marriage with a kiss, surrounded by the natural beauty of the Colorado landscape. The photographer, Haley Hawn, expertly captured the genuine emotions and picturesque setting, preserving the memories of this special day forever.

Taylor and Sam’s time together in the mountains was magical. Surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the high peaks, their love seemed to blend perfectly with the serene, picturesque environment. The rugged terrain, the tranquil lakes, and the expansive sky created a stunning backdrop for their special moments.

Taylor and Sam’s reception space was a beautiful reflection of their minimalist style and personal touch as they DIY’d most of their decor. The tables were adorned with simple yet elegant floral arrangements in delicate glass vases, creating a soft, inviting atmosphere.

Guests were greeted with chic cocktail tables dressed in white linens, perfectly placed for mingling and enjoying the fresh mountain air. The relaxed vibe of the reception was further emphasized by their choice of food – a taco truck, a fun nod to their home in Texas, which brought a casual and enjoyable element to the celebration. The overall feeling was warmth and intimacy, with friends and family gathering to celebrate in a space that truly felt like home.

Taylor and Sam’s reception was a beautiful blend of elegance and heartfelt touches. The cake, adorned with delicate floral designs, took center stage, surrounded by cupcakes lovingly made by Taylor’s sister, a talented baker from Denver. The atmosphere was warm and joyful, filled with laughter and love as guests celebrated. Their heartfelt speeches, given from atop a cozy fireplace, added a personal touch to the evening, creating a sense of connection.

The evening perfectly reflected Taylor and Sam’s unique style and deep love for each other. It blended DIY elements with a minimalist aesthetic that made everything look effortlessly chic. From the backyard ceremony near a river to their intimate reception and a group shot of Brennivín together as a nod to Iceland, every part of their day was full of joy and intention!

Advice from the couple:

•  We were a bit reluctant to spend the time and money we did, but it was well worth seeing so much of our family and friends having such a fun time with us. Investing in them was incredibly valuable.

In terms of strict investments in vendors, catering, decor, music, etc…we can’t pass up the photography, as it’s the one tangible investment that keeps the day alive forever.
