Charlotte, a model and content creator, met Kieffer, a professional footballer who currently plays for AFC Bournemouth and Wales, in their hometown of Devon. Charlotte was 17 and working as a waitress in a local restaurant, and Kieffer was 20, working in the gym opposite.

When the restaurant’s printer broke ahead of the Sunday lunch service, Charlotte was sent to the gym to print off the menus there. As she got to the reception, no one was around, but she found a very bored Kieffer who was so engrossed in bouncing a ball off the wall he didn’t even notice her standing in the doorway until he heard her laughing. From there, Kieffer started visiting the restaurant more, and Charlotte began to go to the gym more. They went on a few dates and hit it off immediately, and now, fast forward 10 years, the couple couldn’t be more in love, so they tied the knot in an intimate London ceremony before their main wedding in Rome.

With it being an abroad wedding in Italy, Charlotte and Kieffer had to get married in England to make the marriage legal. They chose to have a chic editorial city wedding in London to make it official.

Thus, on the 10th year of being together, they got legally married in May in London at the Old Marylebone Town Hall in front of their immediate families before heading to Rome in June to get married and celebrate their love in front of 100 of their nearest and dearest friends and family. This iconic venue provided the perfect backdrop for their intimate ceremony, blending timeless elegance with the vibrant energy of London.

Stepping in front of Charlotte Wise‘s camera lens is an invitation to be part of something truly exceptional. Hailing from London, she is renowned for her distinctive editorial yet feminine approach to photography. Charlotte and Kieffer’s wedding photographs featured moments on the bustling streets of London that looked straight out of a Fashion Week runway or a high-end fashion commercial.

I love editorial black-and-white photography, and our photographer, Charlotte Wise, really captured the type of images we wanted from the day. We wanted it to feel very cool, and we loved the images of couples with sunglasses crossing the road and looking a bit more natural and effortlessly chic.

The bride wore a simple yet modern white strapless mini dress, highlighted by a bespoke satin bow belt. She had long admired her Sophia Webster heels and iconic “Wifey for Lifey” clutch and finally wore them on her special day. Charlotte’s hair cascaded in a 90s supermodel style, with a voluminous blowout and striking highlights, perfectly completing her look. As for the wedding bouquet, the bride opted for a simple, timeless bunch of peonies, her favorite flowers.

Kieffer looked smart and stylish in a Zegna suit, complemented by Santoni shoes and Ray-Ban sunglasses. Their beloved dog, Bella, adorned with a matching white bow, perfectly complemented Charlotte’s vibe. Having Bella there was especially meaningful for the couple since she couldn’t attend their wedding in Italy, so she was a big part of the day.

The lovebirds’ ceremony unfolded in a light-filled room framed by a stunningly intricate fireplace. This elegant space provided a relaxed atmosphere for their intimate gathering, attended by their families and dog Bella. As the couple read their vows, Bella unpromptedly lay at their feet, adding a heartwarming touch to the moment. Her presence sweetly highlighted the bond that united their family, making the occasion even more special and memorable.

We wanted our London legal ceremony to be a vibe and something we would look back at and remember. I loved this day, and it really showed that you don't need to do anything extravagant and over the top for it to look chic and editorial.

Opting for a private setting for their wedding, Charlotte and Kieffer ensured they had ample time to cherish each other’s company. With their families by their side, they basked in the moment’s joy without the burden of unnecessary worry or stress. This intimate setting allowed them to savor every precious moment together.

Advice from the couple:

• If you’re having a legal ceremony in England before your destination wedding, we highly recommend making it special, hiring a photographer, and having fun with it! It’s a great opportunity to do something a bit different to your destination wedding, and it doesn’t have to be over the top; we absolutely love the photos from our legal ceremony. They felt so cool and effortless and are some of my favorite images.

Make it special, as it’s still a big moment!
