Katie and Mike are both from Florida and share a passion for fitness. They met at the gym, and after a workout class, Katie followed Mike on Instagram. Mike quickly responded, and their modern-day love story began. Mike intended to propose at a waterfront pier in Tampa, but a children’s festival changed his plans. Instead, he found a quiet spot along the water to propose. Katie was so surprised she thought he was joking, but she joyfully accepted. They celebrated engagement with their closest family and friends at a nearby rooftop bar. Katie and Mike said that they married their best friend and couldn’t be happier.

The couple’s main wedding wish was to have an unforgettable night celebrating with their family and friends. “We knew if there were good drinks, food, and music that this would not be hard to achieve,” laughed Katie.

Their wedding vision was inspired by Katie’s gown, which was reminiscent of Grace Kelly’s iconic style. This set the tone for a regal and elegant event.

On the morning of the wedding, Katie and her bridesmaids enjoyed a relaxed start in matching white robes from Voir, toasting with champagne and sharing laughs. Katie’s bridal look was stunning: her Anne Barge gown featured all-over sequined floral embroidery and a detachable train. She complemented the intricate dress with a simple but elegant updo and classic pink-toned makeup. Her accessories included rented 8.5-carat diamond earrings, adding a touch of glamour.

For the ceremony, Mike was dressed in a classic black tuxedo, matching the wedding’s elegant theme, highlighting his sophisticated style.

Before the ceremony, the couple shared the first look and took a walk around the hotel’s grounds. The photographer, Austin Trenholm, did an exceptional job capturing the essence of the day. His ability to seize both the grandeur of the event and the intimate moments between the couple and their guests was remarkable. The ceremony took place at the Vinoy St. Pete resort. A three-string quartet played as Katie walked down the aisle, creating a timeless and romantic atmosphere. The couple exchanged vows under a stunning white floral arch at the sunset, with the cityscape of St. Petersburg providing a breathtaking backdrop.

The reception continued the classic and elegant theme. The hall was adorned with white roses and gold accents, creating a sophisticated ambiance. The table settings were flawless, with gold-rimmed plates and candles adding a warm glow. “We wanted to look back at their wedding pictures in 20 years and still love the concept,” explained the bride.

Dinner was a delightful affair, with guests enjoying exquisite dishes and heartfelt toasts. The cake cutting was another memorable moment, featuring a stunning white cake adorned with roses.

As the evening progressed, Katie changed into a simple slip dress by Galia Lahav for the evening, adding tulle feather gloves for a playful touch. The DJ, James King, handed out glow sticks and played Katie and Mike’s favorite EDM hits. The energy was infectious, with even the older guests joining in the fun, dancing to the beats of Tiesto, Avicii, and Zedd.
