A Wedding Where Heritage Danced with Floral Romance

Featured Members

Crystele and Roni’s wedding was a heartfelt reflection of their shared vision — elegant, romantic, and thoughtfully crafted down to the smallest detail. Inspired by a stunning European celebration they once stumbled upon online, the couple fell in love with the idea of an elevated garden party and gradually shaped their dream day around it. Without a planner, they embraced the creative process themselves — curating mood boards, meeting with vendors, and fine-tuning every decorative element. The result was a celebration that felt both deeply personal and beautifully refined.

Location: Montreal, Quebec, Canada
Style: Glamorous, romantic, modern vintage
Time of planning: 1,5 years
Number of guests: 180
Setting: Ceremony – church, reception – gold club ballroom
Season: Early fall

Crystele and Roni’s love story blossomed in the digital age but has always felt timeless. From their very first date — wandering the leafy streets of Plateau Mont-Royal, savoring ice cream and easy conversation — they sensed something rare unfolding. Their connection grew naturally, rooted in laughter, shared dreams, and the joy of simply being together. Fast forward to a sun-drenched afternoon in June, when Roni turned their backyard into a secret garden and orchestrated the proposal Crystele had always dreamed of. With flowers in full bloom and the delicate notes of a harp floating through the air, he asked — and she said yes — surrounded by love, beauty, and the quiet magic that has always defined them.

Bride's Look

Crystele was the vision of modern romance on her wedding day, wearing the Catalina gown by Galia Lahav — a dream dress she found at White Montreal. With delicate floral appliqués, a graceful overskirt, and a matching veil, the gown struck the perfect balance between timeless elegance and whimsical femininity. She wore the overskirt for the ceremony, then revealed a sleeker silhouette for the nighttime celebration, offering two stunning looks in one.

The bride’s Jimmy Choo Love 85 pumps, shimmering with crystal embellishments, added just the right touch of subtle glamour and were as comfortable as they were radiant. Makeup by Nadia Blouin gave Crystele a naturally elevated glow, with soft shimmered lids, a smoked black liner, and a rosy nude lip, while Mireille Louka Assi at Salon Christopher crafted two flawless hairstyles: a half-up, half-down look for the church and a sleek ponytail tied with an ivory silk bow for the reception.

The wedding day was woven with deep-rooted tradition, where dancing and music played a central role in setting the tone. From the very start, the bride was surrounded by the vibrant, electric energy of her loved ones. As the drums echoed through the air and joyful rhythms filled the morning light, she danced her way into the day — radiant, emotional, and ready for all the beauty to come.

Groom's Fashion

Roni wore a striking ivory tuxedo jacket accented with black contrast trim along the lapels. Paired with a crisp white dress shirt with black buttons, classic black trousers, and a bold butterfly silk bowtie, his look was sharp, sophisticated, and effortlessly cool. Polished black patent leather dress shoes completed the ensemble, all carefully selected from Manzotti. Adding a deeply personal touch, he wore the Seiko Presage Classic watch gifted to him by Crystele that very morning.

Captured mid-motion, Roni made his way to the ceremony in style, standing tall in the back of a vintage convertible, grinning from ear to ear. With his groomsmen by his side and the sun pouring down, the moment was filled with energy, laughter, and anticipation. Surrounded by joy and loved ones, Roni looked every bit the part of a groom ready to meet his bride — dashing, elated, and completely in the moment.

Ceremony

The ceremony took place inside the awe-inspiring L’Église de la Visitation de la Bienheureuse-Vierge-Marie — Montreal’s oldest church — where ornate ceilings and gilded architecture offered a majestic backdrop for Crystele and Roni’s vows. The floral decor added a charming softness to the grandeur of the space. Lush arrangements in shades of blush, ivory, lavender, and dusty blue lined the aisle and framed the altar, creating a garden-like atmosphere beneath the church’s painted dome.

The ceremony was nothing short of magical — a moment suspended in time within the golden glow of the historic church. A last-minute addition, the choir and live musicians filled the space with angelic harmonies that brought the setting to life. The wedding party walked down the aisle to ‘Fly’ by Ludovico Einaudi, followed by Crystele — radiant in her gown — entering arm in arm with her father to ‘Turning Page’ by Sleeping at Last. As she walked past cascading florals and misty-eyed guests, Roni stood waiting, visibly moved, with a smile that said everything.

"Walking down the aisle at the church with my dad, surrounded by all our loved ones, and seeing Roni waiting for me at the end was incredibly special. It was a moment I had dreamed of since I was a little girl and experiencing it in real life felt completely surreal."

The couple exchanged vows beneath the soaring, painted dome, their hands entwined as they spoke words only for each other. As Crystele and Roni were announced husband and wife, joy erupted as they exited to ‘This Will Be’ by Natalie Cole, an upbeat anthem that captured their love and the celebration to come.

Private Moment

The couple stole a quiet moment together, once the setting sun started to cast a golden glow over the emerald-green lawns. Bathed in warm light, Crystele and Roni looked absolutely magical, savoring the stillness and joy of just being together before the evening unfolded.

By their side was Maison Bastien, whose artistry went far beyond capturing images — they crafted a visual love letter to the day. Blending both digital and film, they embraced the couple’s vibrant, dance-filled celebration with a cinematic eye, turning every joyful moment into a luminous memory. From the carefully chosen music to the seamless sequence of shots, every detail was perfectly orchestrated to tell the story of Crystele and Roni’s wedding with elegance, emotion, and heart.

"Kristina and Jean-Philippe from Maison Bastien had incredible energy and were such a joy to be around on our special day."

Cocktail Hour

Crystele and Roni’s cocktail hour was a true feast for the senses — elegant, abundant, and undeniably memorable. Guests were welcomed into a golden-hour setting filled with the smooth sounds of a live saxophonist, setting a relaxed and joyful tone.

The spread, curated by Restaurant Solémer, was nothing short of spectacular: artisanal Lebanese finger food, a live Saj station serving fresh “Lebanese pizzas,” delicate salmon sashimi, shrimp cocktail, and freshly shucked oysters. Beautifully presented and endlessly flowing, the food left a lasting impression — many guests later said it was their favorite part of the evening.

Decor & Setting

The reception at Club de Golf Métropolitain d’Anjou was the perfect blend of elegance and personal touches, held in a stunning family-owned venue known for its picturesque gardens and gourmet Italian cuisine. The design was a harmonious fusion of lush romance and modern refinement. Working with Diva Location, Crystele created distinct tablescapes for the round and rectangular tables. The round tables were draped in luxurious moss-sage velvet, adding rich texture and depth, while the rectangular tables featured blush pink chairs with gold hardware and clear tabletops that let the floral arrangements and crystal candle holders shine.

The floral artistry was nothing short of breathtaking, thanks to Fleurs des Jardins, the couple’s trusted family florist of over 20 years. One of Crystele’s favorite blooms, the panicle hydrangea, inspired much of the floral design with its dreamy hues of white, pink, and lime green. For the round tables, the florist created natural, organic centerpieces with trunk-like bases of branches topped with clouds of panicle hydrangeas — evoking the feel of an enchanted garden.

Displayed beautifully on gleaming gold shelves, the guest favors added another thoughtful layer to the decor. “Our guests absolutely loved the favors!” Crystele shared. “I carefully selected a variety of hand-blown glass accessories, all inspired by our wedding’s color palette — pitchers, candles, mushroom candle lamps, carafes, bowls, vases, and vintage teacups.”

Reception

The couple made an unforgettable entrance, fully embracing their cultural roots with a zaffeh that brought the room to life. As they stepped through cascading sparklers and swirling smoke, hands raised and beaming with joy, they were surrounded by the electrifying rhythm of traditional Lebanese drumming, courtesy of Zaffetna Entertainment

The energy was contagious — guests cheered, clapped, and joined in the celebration as the couple danced their way into the night. The atmosphere remained electric as DaFusionBand took over for the first part of the reception, keeping the dance floor packed with friends and family celebrating love, heritage, and the pure magic of the moment.

Even amidst the endless, contagious dancing and high-energy celebration, there were moments of stillness that felt just as special. Crystele and Roni took their seats at their beautifully decorated sweetheart table — surrounded by cascading florals, glowing candlelight, and the soft golden ambiance of the room — and paused to soak it all in.

As they listened to heartfelt speeches and emotional toasts from loved ones, laughter and tears flowed in equal measure. These quieter moments offered a tender contrast to the joyful chaos of the dance floor, allowing the couple to reflect on the love that surrounded them and the joy of beginning their new chapter together.

Crystele and Roni stood side by side, radiant and playful as they sliced into a showstopping creation by Pâtisserie Dolci Più. The couple opted for a round Italian-style wedding cake — an impressive 26-inch beauty made of soft vanilla sponge, layered with rich pistachio and hazelnut cream, and crowned with a vibrant medley of fresh berries. “Not only did it look stunning, but it was so delicious,” Crystele shared.

The couple’s first dance was pure magic — equal parts heartfelt and joyfully over-the-top in the best way. Embracing a bit of playful cheesiness, they chose ‘A Sky Full of Stars’ by Coldplay, and the atmosphere that unfolded felt straight out of a dream. The lights dimmed, the dance floor was swept in a cloud of soft dry ice, and guests’ light-up bracelets sparkled like constellations. As the music swelled to its peak, Roni lifted Crystele high into the air just as golden sparklers ignited and star poppers burst overhead. The room erupted in cheers, and for a dazzling moment, it truly felt like the stars had aligned just for them.

At some point during the celebration, Crystele and Roni slipped away for a quiet moment together under the night sky. Their twilight shoot — just the two of them — felt incredibly fun, intimate, and carefree. It offered a much-needed pause from the whirlwind of the day, allowing them to soak in everything that had just unfolded. With the stars above and the buzz of celebration in the distance, it was a beautifully serene chapter in a night filled with magic.

"At one point, Roni playfully lifted me onto his shoulders like a football and ran around the golf courtyard, making for some unforgettable moments. The photos turned out stunning, capturing the joy and spontaneity of that special time together."

Advice from the couple:

Start planning at least 1.5 years in advance to give yourself enough time to research and book the best vendors.

Don’t underestimate the importance of lighting and sound — it makes all the difference in setting the ambiance for both the cocktail hour and reception. Marco from Entertainment Stars exceeded our expectations.

For us, hiring a wedding planner didn’t feel necessary — we loved being hands-on throughout the entire process. However, I highly recommend having a day-of coordinator. Kimberlee from Lee Montreal was incredible at coordinating with vendors in the week leading up to the wedding, preparing a detailed schedule, and setting everything up on the big day. It took a huge weight off our shoulders, allowing us to fully enjoy our special day without any stress.
