Number of guests: 200
Setting: Ceremony – church, reception – mansion
Season: Spring
Ruthanne and Evan share a bond rooted in intention, faith, and ease. Their relationship grew around shared values and meaningful rituals, including regular visits to the Cathedral of the Incarnation, where they later chose to exchange vows. Rather than centering their day on spectacle, they envisioned a celebration that honored their story with timeless elegance and emotional depth—a reflection of the way they love: grounded, joyful, and quietly powerful.
Bridal Look
Ruthanne got ready surrounded by her bridesmaids, slipping into a structured ivory gown from Saint Bridal that felt both architectural and effortless. The dress featured a corset bodice with clean lines and visible seaming that sculpted her silhouette with precision. A sheer scarf detail wrapped around her shoulders like a whisper, and later, a cathedral-length veil with lace edging added a delicate layer for the ceremony.
Her accessories were understated and elegant—white pointed-toe heels with bows, a single strand of pearls, and classic drop earrings. Her bouquet was a round cluster of ivory roses with long satin ribbons, mirroring the simplicity and softness woven through the day.
Instead of matching gowns, Ruthanne’s bridesmaids wore a curated mix of colors and silhouettes—blush, bronze, navy, sage, florals, and pale blue. From strapless to off-shoulder, the variation felt modern but cohesive. Some carried white hydrangea bouquets, while others held pale roses, each tied with ribbon. Their dresses mirrored the joyful mood of the morning—warm air, shared laughter, and the kind of anticipation that builds slowly and beautifully.
Groom's Morning
Evan spent the morning on a sunny rooftop with his groomsmen, sharing beers and laughter in sharp black tuxedos. His look was classic and polished—a single-breasted black jacket, white shirt, black bow tie, and a boutonnière of ivory roses. Relaxed and confident, he carried the same calm energy from that rooftop toast all the way to the altar, where his quiet smile said everything as he waited for Ruthanne.
Ceremony
The ceremony took place at the Cathedral of the Incarnation, a space that held deep meaning for Ruthanne and Evan. Sunlight streamed through high stained glass windows, casting rainbow reflections onto the floor as Ruthanne walked down the aisle with her father. The Italian-inspired architecture, arched ceilings, classical sculptures, and gilded details surrounded the couple in quiet grandeur. With over two hundred guests filling the pews, the church felt full but reverent, intimate despite its scale.
As the priest spoke, the couple sat side by side at the altar, beneath the towering crucifix and marble statues. The atmosphere remained sacred but warm. When Ruthanne and Evan shared their first kiss as husband and wife, the room broke into applause, and they turned to walk back down the aisle hand-in-hand. The light, the music, and the emotional presence of the space created a ceremony that felt cinematic and personal all at once.
"The sunlight streaming into the cathedral during the ceremony, casting soft rainbows onto the floor, created an unforgettable, almost surreal atmosphere."

Private Moment
Before the reception began, Ruthanne and Evan shared a quiet moment together inside Riverwood Mansion, just the two of them, away from the crowd. In the softness of a sunlit room, they sat across from one another, shared a quiet dance, and the energy was calm and unforced. Their rings were newly placed, her veil still draped, and their hands gently resting together—this pause let them take in the weight of what just happened.
Photographer Sammy McKenzie captured the emotional charge and the lightness of that time with a blend of digital clarity and film texture. The film frames brought softness to the shadows and depth to the colors, while the digital shots caught the in-between glances and gestures with perfect timing. Nothing about the images felt posed or interrupted—just Ruthanne and Evan, present and still glowing from the vows they’d just exchanged.
"The overall feel leaned into soft, romantic tones, natural light, and timeless elegance."

Cocktail Hour
The cocktail hour at the mansion unfolded across candlelit rooms and vintage wallpapered halls, where chandeliers sparkled above the hum of conversation. Guests mingled with cocktails in hand, gathered around high-top tables, or paused to study the seating chart pinned against damask-patterned boards. The room felt lively, warm, and full of anticipation for what was still to come.
Details softened the space and gave it character—tall wax candles in cast-iron holders, gilded frames, and layered lighting that flickered against the old walls. Guests moved between rooms, balancing drinks and laughter, wrapped in velvet and silk. It was a cocktail hour that felt like a party already in motion, grounded in atmosphere and thoughtfully layered design.
"Back at Riverwood Mansion, the celebration continued with vintage details, a bustling cocktail hour, and a live band that filled the dance floor."

Reception
The reception space was draped in soft white fabric, with chandeliers and string lights casting a warm glow over the room. Round tables were dressed in white linen and topped with green-and-white floral china, tall water glasses, and floating candles. Centerpieces featured towering arrangements of hydrangeas, orchids, magnolia leaves, and greenery, bringing structure and freshness to each setting. Long banquet tables created rhythm and symmetry in the room, styled with low white florals, glass pillar candles, and foliage runners that wove down the middle like a quiet thread.
Dinner was served by the in-house catering team at Riverwood Mansion, setting a seamless tone for the evening. Heartfelt toasts followed—some lighthearted, others emotional, and every word landed with warmth and laughter. When Ruthanne and Evan took to the dance floor for their first dance, the room erupted. Guests twirled napkins above their heads, cheering them on as they kicked off the celebration. The shift from dinner to dancing felt instant, natural, alive, and completely theirs.
"The band kept energy levels high, and the vibe was so electric that navigating through the dance floor became a challenge for the photographer."

"Build in time to breathe. Whether it’s scheduling a portrait break between ceremony and reception or finishing photos before cocktail hour, it’s worth prioritizing presence over posing."

Later in the evening, the couple gathered around a textured, tiered white cake placed on an ornate gold stand. Together, they cut into the cake, smiling wide under soft lighting and the exposed brick walls of the venue. The scene felt celebratory and sweet enough to mark the moment before the dancing began again.
Dance Floor
As night fell, Top Tier Band lit up the tent with a high-energy performance that kept the dance floor completely packed. Ruthanne changed into a short version of her gown—structured, modern, and perfect for movement—and rejoined Evan for one last round of dancing, drinks, and cheers with friends. The music pulsed, lights swirled, and guests gathered tight around the couple, singing and raising silver cups in celebration.
When it was time to leave, they stepped outside into the crisp night air and slipped into a vintage black car for their send-off. It was an ending that felt joyful and full of motion.

"The grand sparkler exit and their vintage getaway car sealed the storybook ending."
