Under the Mexican sun, surrounded by friends who had flown in from across continents, Arsema and Yohanes celebrated a day that felt both effortless and deeply intentional. Set on the lush coastline of Punta Mita, their wedding unfolded as a refined fusion of cultures: part French garden dream, part modern seaside escape. Behind the seamless experience was The Wedding Mexico, known for blending European aesthetics with the relaxed rhythm of the tropics. Together, they built a celebration that was modern, structured, and true to their style.

Time of planning: 1 year
Number of guests: 107
Setting: Beach, Garden
Season: Spring
Arsema and Yohanes met seven years ago at a friend’s going-away barbecue in Seattle. After brief introduction they discovered how naturally they understood each other and never really drifted apart after that.
Years later, while celebrating Arsema’s graduation on a family trip to Cabo San Lucas, Yohanes proposed on the beach. It was quiet, just the two of them, before their friends and family joined in the celebration. Since then, they’ve built a relationship grounded in mutual respect and joy: steady, thoughtful, and real. And that same feeling became the foundation of their wedding day.
Vision of the Day
Arsema and Yohanes wanted their wedding to feel natural, sincere, beautiful, but without excess. With The Wedding Mexico, they built the idea around the elegance of a French summer garden, adapted to the coast of Mexico.
They chose Punta Mita, one of the country’s most exclusive destinations, known for its mix of ocean, gardens, and privacy. The venue, Tizate Sea Garden, offered a rare view of Banderas Bay: a green space that opens right to the sea, filled with soft light from morning to sunset. May, part of the dry season, made it all feel golden and calm.
The decor was simple and refined: white flowers, lots of greenery, natural fabrics, and textures instead of heavy arrangements. It followed nature-inspired trend, where design looks effortless but thoughtful. Here, it wasn’t the decor that made the setting feel luxurious, it was the light, the air, and the sense of space.
Bride's Morning & Fashion
Arsema’s started with the details that made the morning feel personal. Her Tony Bianco heels, clean, sculptural, and practical enough for the garden, stood beside a bottle of Diptyque Do Son, her chosen scent for the day. Light floral with a hint of sea breeze, it perfectly mirrored the coastal air drifting in through the open balcony.
For beauty, Marina Medina created a refined, luminous look: bronzed skin, light contour, a touch of golden shimmer on the lids, and a nude lip. The bride’s hair was polished yet soft: the front sleekly pinned away from her face, opening her features, while the back fell in bouncy waves that moved with her.
Her gown from White Rose Wedding in Istanbul was a study in craftsmanship — a mermaid silhouette with a detachable overskirt, hand-finished with pearls, sequins, and beading. The lace-trimmed veil introduced softness to the architectural form. It was a perfect blend of Western couture lines and Eastern artistry.
Groom's Fashion
Yohanes’ look bridged legacy and modernity, merging French tailoring with East African symbols. The tuxedo, cut in the spirit of the 1960s, featured wide lapels and cropped trousers that framed a clean silhouette, polished but not conventional.
Gold ran through the details: engraved cufflinks and bracelets. His fragrance, a bespoke blend of Arab notes made in honor of his uncle, carried warmth and depth, softening the formality of the suit.
First Look & Vows
Before the ceremony began, Arsema and Yohanes met in the reception zone for their first look. The scene felt both cinematic and deeply tender: her dress catching the light, his antisipation as he turned to see her.
After the first look, they exchanged private vows. It was less about formality and more about grounding and taking a moment to remember what the day was really about before it unfolded into celebration.
Ceremony
The ceremony took place at Tizate Sea Garden, a venue that feels almost designed for light. A manicured lawn opens directly to the horizon, where the green of the garden fades into the blue of Banderas Bay. The setup followed a principle of minimalism: white columns, clean lines, and florals by Tropical Flowers in soft shades of ivory and green. Nothing competed with the view; everything framed it.
The architecture of space: open air, sea breeze, and golden light did the work that heavy decor never could. When Arsema walked down the aisle, the light shifted slightly, turning the whole setting into a living frame.
It was a perfect example of the “slow ceremony” trend redefining destination weddings: less about spectacle, more about presence. There was space to breathe, to look, to feel, and that, more than any arrangement, made it beautiful.
Moments Together
After the ceremony, Arsema and Yohanes slipped away for a few quiet minutes. The photographer, Arely Wedding Photo, captured this part of the day with signature restraint: soft focus, natural daylight, and frames untouched by direction. Nothing about these images feels staged; they move like small fragments of a memory.
The couple walked through the garden, still in their ceremony looks, exchanging glances and laughter. The formality of the vows giving way to ease. This is where the story turns from ceremony to celebration: the light softens, the air cools, and everything that follows feels spontaneous.
It’s the essence of “unfiltered love stories”: photography that doesn’t dramatize love but simply records it, as it is: quiet, joyful, and completely real.
Decor
The reception design followed the same refined rhythm as the rest of the day: elegant, measured, and full of air. The team from The Wedding Mexico and Tropical Flowers built a space that felt like an extension of the landscape rather than a transformation of it. Long tables were covered in white linen, accented with gold-rimmed details and soft candlelight.
Hydrangeas became the centerpiece of the design, the season’s most talked-about flower, and not by accident. Their rounded shape and natural volume gave structure to the tables without overwhelming them. Choosing green hydrangeas instead of the classic white proved to be a fresh decision: they added depth and kept the palette from looking too polished. In daylight, their tone shifted from mint to olive, creating texture and movement across the setting.
Every detail continued this logic of restraint. Sage napkins, matte stationery with minimalist typography, and table numbers on clean white stock replaced the expected shimmer. Even the seating chart, printed on crisp fabric, followed the same visual language, white on white, clear and understated. The result was a setting that looked current yet timeless, where design didn’t compete with nature but simply complemented it.
Reception
Guests were greeted with personalized cocktails: the groom’s hibiscus mezcalita and the bride’s mojito, two flavors, two moods. Dinner by Gout Catering by Terranova continued this theme: refined, seasonal, designed to be shared.
The couple’s first dance unfolded under a canopy of lights. Hundreds of tiny bulbs stretched above the dance floor, reflecting softly off Arsema’s gown.Yohanes led with an easy confidence; she followed, smiling the entire time.
As the night deepened, the tone shifted from dinner to dance. The warm glow and the sound turned the garden into an open-air lounge. The dance floor never emptied, the music moved effortlessly from soul to modern rhythms, laughter filling every pause.
After dinner, the couple cut their cake by Charme Repostería. It was a minimal white design with floral accents that mirrored the day’s aesthetic: refined, simple, and elegant. And then, without announcement, the sky lit up. Fireworks rose over the garden, their reflections caught in the water below. It was a finale that felt in rhythm with the evening: luminous, celebratory, and full of quiet joy.
