In the lush surroundings of Costa Smeralda on Sardinia’s island, Denise and Paul celebrated their union in a stunning private garden overlooking the beach. The couple, who met at a birthday party in Boston, embarked on a beautiful journey that took them from Taiwan to New York and finally to the picturesque shores of Sardinia. Paul, an engineer of Italian American descent, and Denise, a Taiwanese event planner, shared a deep connection that culminated in a romantic proposal on Turks and Caicos island.

Sara Carboni, their wedding planner, played a essential role in bringing their dream wedding to life. Denise, appreciating Sara’s efforts, remarked, “Sara and her team created our dream wedding. She found us the perfect exclusive venue which were not offered by any other wedding planners in the area.”

The planning process was a clear reflection of their shared vision, focusing on a theme of glamour and romance, using a palette of pastel shades to create an atmosphere reminiscent of clouds floating in the air. Sara herself explained the floral and color choices, “For this decorative arrangement, we opted for a palette of pastel shades ranging from white to pale pink. Our primary objective was to create an atmosphere of lightness and softness, inspired by the delicacy of clouds that seem to float in the air.” The use of gypsophila in the floral arrangements emphasized the theme of ethereal beauty and softness.

The morning of the wedding saw Denise in a breathtaking gown by Ines Di Santo, complemented by accessories from Maria Elena Headpieces and jewels from Simonian Jewels, stepping into shoes by Saint Laurent and Badgley Mischka. Her look was a perfect blend of elegance and glamour, capturing the essence of the wedding theme.

Paul matched her elegance in a custom suit by Alan David with Versace shoes, each element carefully chosen to reflect their unique styles and the importance of the day.

Paul’s first look at Denise was a standout moment, captured perfectly by the photographer Kirandira Photography. As Denise walked towards him, you could see the excitement and love on Paul’s face—a genuine, joyful reaction that really stood out in the photos. Their smiles said it all, making it clear just how much this day meant to both of them.

Their dream was to exchange vows in front of the crystal-clear, turquoise waters of Sardinia. Sara shared, “The ceremony took place on the lawn in front of the sea, with the bridesmaids and groomsmen accompanied by the sound of violins. It was like a postcard come to life.”

The reception, held in an spacious garden of a splendid estate overlooking the Maddalena archipelago in Sardinia. “Every detail was built, the marquee was used for the reception and the party while the aperitif took place outside in the garden,” described Sara. The evening was filled with lots of entertainment, including acrobats and performers, enhancing the celebratory atmosphere and their first dance was to “You are the Reason,” a perfect opening to the night of celebration.

After the ceremony, the couple strolled to the seaside, capturing their first moments as newlyweds.

The evening was filled with personal touches and surprises, including a gift box for guests featuring Taiwanese treats and beauty products. “Many gifts, one of these was a box that contained gifts from its origins, therefore Taiwanese, with typical sweets, lotus flowers, beauty products,” noted Denise.

The highlight of the evening was the dinner and the activities that followed. “The toast took place with an acrobat who poured champagne for Denise and Paul. The cake was a white and minimal American-style tiered cake surrounded by gisophila and orchids,” Sara detailed. The cocktails were specially crafted to include myrtle berries, a nod to the local Sardinian flavor.

Reflecting on their wedding, Denise praised Sara Carboni’s comprehensive approach: “I am a wedding planner myself, so I am very detail-oriented, and Sara still exceeded all my expectations. She has a beautiful eye for design and caters to all her clients’ needs.” Paul and Denise now consider Sara and her team part of their family: “We can’t wait to come back to Sardinia to keep celebrating life milestones and we hope Sara can keep helping us plan them as well!”
