A Romantic Garden Wedding at a French Château

Location: Aix-en-Provence, Provence, France
Setting: Сhâteau
Wedding season: Fall
The number of guests: 50
How long did the couple plan the event: 6 months
Wedding theme/style: Elegant, outdoor, garden, warm, casual.

Sandrine and Boris, a couple in love, decided to celebrate their wedding with their nearest and dearest in the south of France. They hired the renowned planner Louisiane, founder of the agency Un Jardin de Lumières, a team of professionals with extensive experience in wedding planning and creating truly unique events.

For the couple, neither of whom was on their first marriage and both having experienced grand weddings before, it was important that their wedding was intimate, elegant, and sophisticated. They wanted to incorporate the colors of Provence, as their estate in Provence is Sandrine and Boris’s favorite retreat. Therefore, its beauty and charm became the source of inspiration for their wedding.

Sandrine chose two outfits for the wedding: an exquisite white jumpsuit with lace detailing for the ceremony and a romantic silk dress in a pistachio shade for the reception. Her hairstyle and makeup were kept as natural as possible, enhancing her beauty and creating an elegant yet effortless look.

Boris chose a light, lavender-hued suit for the wedding. His lapel, adorned with a boutonniere of vivid flowers that perfectly matched the bride’s bouquet, added a charming touch to his appearance.

The ceremony, attended by close friends and family of the couple, was a beautiful moment where they exchanged rings and vows, becoming husband and wife. This event left no one indifferent among the attendees. After the ceremony, the newlyweds headed to the reception in a beautiful vintage convertible.

Before the reception, the newlyweds took considerable time to be alone, savoring the beautiful moments that had just occurred. Meanwhile, the photographer captured stunning portraits of the couple.

Before the cocktail hour, Sabrina changed her outfit, and the photographer Sébastien Boudot took a series of beautiful portraits of them in the golden rays of the setting sun.

The cocktail hour unfolded in a relaxed and warm atmosphere, with the bartender offering guests exquisite cocktails. A jazz band performing beautiful songs created a cozy, special ambiance conducive to enjoyable relaxation and conversation.

The couple selected a delightful Château d’Alphéran nestled in the heart of the countryside for their wedding celebration. Their vision was to cultivate a relaxed, joyful, and festive atmosphere reminiscent of the southern regions. A significant aspect of the wedding’s overall design was the florist’s contribution, which aimed to present a novel, revisited “country-style” wedding aesthetic.

The bride desired to authentically capture the essence of wild Provence through the floral arrangements. This led to the innovative concept of designing table runners in two distinct styles: one featured modern soliflores to achieve a sophisticated contemporary look, while the other utilized floral runners with a base of plant moss, creating the illusion of flowers springing from the earth.

The reception took place in the cozy courtyard of the château. The couple aimed to create a laid-back and friendly atmosphere. So, against a seating plan, they decided to allow the guests to choose their seats and get food from the caterer whenever they wished, essentially offering complete freedom of choice. The guests contributed to the joyous occasion by dressing up in unicorn costumes, bringing genuine fun and laughter.

During the dinner, a band entertained the bride, groom, and guests, setting the stage for a vibrant evening. Later, the DJ took over, officially kicking off the dance party in the château’s orangery, creating an incredible atmosphere. In honor of Boris’s Jewish heritage, the guests participated in one of the Jewish wedding traditions, lifting the newlyweds on chairs during the dance, adding a meaningful and joyous element to the celebration.

The highlight of the evening was the cake-cutting ceremony, but instead of a traditional cake, the couple chose a croquembouche, making this moment uniquely memorable and distinctive.
