A Riviera Maya Destination Wedding with Metropolitan Taste

Casandra Films shot Esthela and Eduardo’s Riviera Maya wedding with the kind of crisp, flashy edge that made the whole day feel way cooler than the usual beach setup. At Grand Palladium Riviera Maya, they took their very personal Cancun love story and turned it into destination wedding with metropolitan taste that felt super clean and dialed-in, with an olive-green suit, and an oceanfront ceremony.

Location: Riviera Maya, Quintano Roo, Mexico
Style: Classic, Elegant, Minimal
Time of planning: 8 months
Number of guests: 120
Setting: Beachfront
Season: Fall

The couple first met while working at Zara. Esthela had moved from Honduras and later went on to study, while Eduardo stayed in Monterrey, so life pulled them in different directions and they lost touch, staying only as distant social media mutuals. Years later, they found their way back to each other through Instagram, and this time the timing finally worked.

What started as catching up quickly turned into a steady relationship, with Cancun becoming one of the biggest places in their story, first through early trips together, then as the place where Eduardo asked Esthela to move in and start building a home with him. He later proposed during a family Christmas dinner on Esthela’s mother’s terrace, surrounded by candles, red roses, both families, and their dog, Cooper, turning an intimate moment into a full celebration.

Bride's Morning & Fashion

Esthela knew exactly where she wanted to land with her bridal look: clean, elegant, and just the right amount of princess. She had always pictured herself in a strapless A-line gown in a soft champagne off-white, and the second she tried on the one, it was over, she was crying and could already see the whole wedding day in it.

She kept the accessories and hair subtle, with just enough shine to catch the light without pulling focus, went for natural makeup that simply sharpened and framed her features, and finished everything with a cathedral-length veil that gave the gown its full moment. Her bouquet, a tight cluster of white roses with a hint of baby’s breath, tied the whole thing back to the floral story of the day and kept the bridal styling feeling crisp, classic, and fully locked in.

Groom’s Fashion

Eduardo knew from the start he did not want the usual beach groom look, so he skipped sky blue, beige, and navy and went for a sharp green suit instead. It felt polished, different, and way more personal, which instantly made the whole look more interesting.

He kept the rest of the styling just as intentional, choosing modern dark brown shoes with tassel details, a matching belt, and a watch that meant a lot to him because it was the first one he had ever bought for himself.

Ceremony

Set on the beach, the ceremony was timed it close to sunset for that soft breeze, golden light, and actually comfortable weather. They kept the setup super clean with a white petal aisle, a floral arch, and sheer white draping.

Even the guest details felt thought through in a stylish way, with white paper fans and umbrellas that worked as both practical touches and part of the whole look. A live violinist played throughout, and Casandra Films captured the whole thing on film in a way that made every part of it land even harder.

Alongside the civil ceremony and witnesses, they exchanged handwritten vows and wedding bands, with their parents joining them in the processional and Esthela finally getting the walk down the aisle she had always pictured.

Both of them described the moment as surreal. “When I saw him, I just wanted to run towards him,” Esthela recalls, while Eduardo shares that the most unforgettable second was “the exact instant I turned around and saw her,” adding, “She is the perfect woman I chose to spend the rest of my life with. She looks stunning.

By the time they were standing together, they were shaking with nerves, crying, and trying to take it all in, and judging by the guests’ reaction, they were not the only ones. Friends and family kept telling them afterwards how emotional it was, and how the whole ceremony had them in tears too.

Reception

Set in an oceanfront space, reception was all round tables dressed in white linens, Tiffany white chairs, and candlelit centerpieces with white roses and baby’s breath floating in water vases. One of the chicest details was in the place setting itself: clear plates with a black rim, topped with crisp white menus tied with oversized sage-green bows that also worked as name cards.

Before dinner, the newlyweds raised a toast with their guests using the same champagne glasses that had doubled as the seating chart earlier, which was one of those smart little details that made the whole setup feel even more personal. Instead of a traditional cake, they went with a dessert table that guests kept talking about, and music stayed at the center of the night from start to finish.

Their first dance became even more emotional with Esthela’s sister singing Elvis Presley’s Can’t Help Falling in Love, before the soundtrack shifted into a more high-energy mix built around reggaeton, plus songs from Honduras, the U.S., Taiwan, and Monterrey. So guests from every corner of their world could hear a little bit of home.

Then the whole thing flipped into full party mode. The white LED dance floor gave way to multicolored lights, each table had a designated “captain” in charge of shots and keeping the energy up, and the dance floor filled with foam light sticks, LED crowns, glowing necklaces, and personalized cups with custom stickers. It had all the polished details of a beautifully edited destination wedding, but knew exactly when to loosen up, which is probably why the night felt just as fun as it looked.

Advice from the couple:

Invest in your team. Hire the best wedding planners you can, just like we did. They are worth their weight in gold. Also, do not compromise on photography and video, it was worth every penny, and we are so grateful to have our day preserved so beautifully by the best team.

• Remember the heart of the day. It’s easy to stress, but trust that everything will come together. No matter what small things don’t go exactly to plan, the day is perfect because it’s filled with the people who love you. The most important thing is the love you have for each other; that feeling translates to your guests and makes the entire celebration magical.

Don’t forget to enjoy it at 200%. Live in every single second because it truly goes by in the blink of an eye.
