A Medici villa in Tuscany, a Renaissance-inspired celebration, and two people who approach everything they do with presence and intention. Maddie and Braxton’s wedding weekend at Tenuta di Artimino felt like stepping into another time, shaped from start to finish by Petit Bouquet Weddings.
Location: Tenuta di Artimino, Tuscany, Italy
Style: Poetic, vintage-inspired yet modern
Time of planning: Around 10 months
Number of guests: Around 100
Setting: Villa
Season: Late May
Maddie and Braxton met five years ago at an outdoor yoga class in Texas, right after the famous Snowpocalypse. A chance encounter that grew quickly into something deeper, shaped by presence, intention, and a shared way of moving through the world.
Braxton proposed against the waves and sunsets of Malibu, and the two have been building a life together with the same mindfulness that brought them together in the first place. Maddie is an entrepreneur and clinical herbalist whose brand is dedicated to helping women live in harmony with their hormones and cycles, a philosophy of awareness and well-being that shapes everything they do.
Planning & Welcome Night
The inspiration was the Renaissance, and at a Medici villa in Tuscany, it didn’t need much convincing. Delicate, ethereal florals echoed the countryside around them, vintage-inspired touches sat comfortably alongside something more modern, and the welcome party spilled out into the countryside in true Italian style. Maddie arrived in a handmade dress made by a friend’s mother, a detail that said everything about the kind of weekend this was going to be.
Petit Bouquet Weddings shaped every detail around a single idea: that the wedding should feel like a natural extension of the place, the history, and the two people at the center of it. Every choice was made with that in mind, and the weekend that emerged felt like it had always been meant to happen exactly this way.
Bride's Fashion
Maddie’s wedding day gown combined youthful freshness with Renaissance-inspired elegance, its wide flowing sleeves and minimalist aesthetic drawing from the timeless purity of classical painting. Clean, understated, and deeply personal. She wore sky-blue shoes as her something blue, kept her hair and makeup natural, and carried a bouquet that felt like it had been gathered from the Tuscan countryside around her.
Rather than a traditional first look with Braxton, Maddie chose something more personal. She exchanged handwritten letters with her family in a quiet, intimate moment before the ceremony, just the people who had known her longest, before the day truly began.
Groom's Fashion
Braxton wore a vintage Gucci tuxedo, a choice that balanced classic elegance with personal flair and felt completely right. Vintage suspenders and cufflinks added character, and his boutonniere tied the look back to the setting around him. For Braxton, the outfit was never just about fashion. It was about feeling authentic and connected to Maddie and the day itself.
Ceremony
The ceremony took place in front of the villa’s iconic red door, a striking symbol of the history surrounding them. Maddie walked down the aisle with both her parents by her side, to the soft notes of a live string quartet. The ceremony opened with a meditation led by their dear friend Lance, grounding the moment before it began.
Their friend Chase, one of Maddie’s closest college friends who had become equally close to Braxton, officiated with words that, as Maddie puts it, “felt like home.” The two shared handwritten love stories and vows, “laughing and crying through every word.” Their grandmothers carried the rings, a quiet and deeply moving symbol of generational love. And when Chase asked them to turn and face their guests, Maddie says, “it felt like heaven on earth. Time slowed, and all we could feel was love.”
The florals and colors were soft, delicate, and true to the Tuscan landscape, never excessive. Everything was chosen with intention, guided by one principle above all else: emotion. “A moment we’ll carry with us, always,” Maddie says. Nothing more was needed.
Visual Inspiration
Maddie and Braxton had always been drawn to old-timey, romantic, vintage visuals, the kind that feel like a still from a classic romance film. Intimate, natural, and quietly beautiful. It was a quality many describe as central to their connection itself, and it became the visual thread that Pasalic, their photographer and videographer, followed throughout the entire weekend.
From quiet moments between dinner tables to serene shots in the meadow, the images carry a sense of stillness and emotion that feels completely true to the two of them. Timeless and deeply personal, each frame a reflection of the authenticity at the heart of their bond.
Reception Decor
The reception took place directly in front of the Medici villa, one of the most iconic backdrops in all of Tuscany. As the sun went down, the ancient walls, chandeliers, tables, and guests were all gilded in the same warm golden light. Maddie and Braxton sat at the center of a long banquet table with the landscape stretching out behind them, romantic and authentically Tuscan in every direction.
The florals and décor stayed true to the surroundings, simple arrangements in soft tones that echoed the countryside without competing with it. The tablescape balanced classical Renaissance elegance with clean, modern lines, in quiet conversation with the villa behind it. Nothing excessive, nothing out of place. Everything exactly as it should have been.
One of the most personal touches of the reception was a table holding their audio guest book alongside a selection of the love letters Maddie and Braxton had exchanged over the years. “One of my favorite touches,” Maddie says. It gave guests a window into their story, words written long before the wedding day that said everything about the depth of what the two of them share.
Reception
The couple’s entrance was, without warning, their first dance. Nobody saw it coming. Descending the villa’s iconic staircase, Maddie and Braxton moved into a choreographed dance filled with grace, tenderness, and sweeping lifts, accompanied by a live saxophone. Cinematic and completely unexpected, it set the tone for an evening nobody would forget.
Speeches followed, bringing waves of emotion. “We were showered with love through heartfelt speeches from my dad, older brother, and sister,” Maddie says. “Endless laughter, endless tears, endless love.” A fitting end to a day where feeling always came first.
Throughout the celebration, personalized matchboxes, signature drinks, and custom napkins reflected the same attention to detail that ran through every part of the weekend. And yet no single moment stood out above the rest. There were so many quiet glances, heartfelt embraces, spontaneous laughter, and tears shared between those who had traveled far to be there. A day made unforgettable through a constellation of deeply felt moments.
