A Mountain Meadow Celebration with Wildflowers and Western Flair

Amanda and Jacob’s wedding was a deeply personal celebration set in the mountains of Snowmass, Colorado. Their August weekend brought together family history, laid-back elegance, and a setting that felt like home. Documented with a thoughtful, unobtrusive lens by Kara Moore, every frame captured the emotion and rhythm of the day, not staged or overdone, but honest and full of feeling.

Location: Colorado, United States
Style: Intimate, Boho, Western
Time of planning: 1 year
Number of guests: 85
Setting: Country Club
Season: Summer

Amanda and Jacob first met in high school. Years later, after time apart, they reconnected—this time for good. Jacob proposed after a horseback ride near Pyramid Peak, a quiet moment that mirrored their shared love of nature and simplicity. Planning their wedding, they returned to a place that had always meant something: Snowmass Village, where Jacob’s parents were once married.

Getting Ready & Fashion

Amanda got ready with calm confidence. Her lace dress by La Perle from Calla Blanche featured a high neck, long sleeves, and subtle volume through the skirt—a silhouette that felt classic but entirely her own. She paired it with Betsy Johnson heels and the soft, powdery scent of Chanel Chance. Her hair and makeup, styled by Emily Wright of Wright Management Artists, leaned natural and fresh: a soft updo, flushed cheeks, and defined lashes.

Her bouquet by Juniper Flowers was anything but minimal: full of color, texture, and movement, a loose composition that nodded to the wildflowers found around the valley.

Jacob wore a custom blue suit with a paisley vest, ostrich boots, and a mother-of-pearl bolo tie—a nod to the Western mood that threaded through the day. His boutonniere echoed Amanda’s florals, tying together their looks without trying too hard.

First Look

Before the ceremony, the couple took a quiet moment together in an open field. No audience, no pressure. Just the two of them, taking in what the day meant.

Kara Moore approached these moments with an eye for atmosphere—letting the landscape speak, and the connection between Amanda and Jacob take center stage. It wasn’t about orchestrating emotion, it was about preserving it.

Ceremony

Set against the peaks at The Snowmass Club, the ceremony took place on the wedding lawn framed by a sprawling floral arch. The arch exploded with color and movement: zinnias, dahlias, cosmos, and climbing greenery arranged to feel as if they’d grown there naturally.

Guests arrived to the sound of live strings and a welcome drink in hand. Jacob’s brother officiated, and Amanda and Jacob wrote their own vows. Just as they said “I do,” the sun broke through after a week of rain. It was one of those unscripted moments no one forgets.

Cocktail Hour

Under umbrellas and soft afternoon light, guests sipped signature cocktails and mingled along the edge of the lawn. Custom napkins featured the couple’s dogs, Ernie and Maggie, a light-hearted detail that drew smiles and sparked conversation.

The relaxed, free-flowing atmosphere was exactly what Amanda and Jacob envisioned, thanks in large part to Alpine Luxury Events, who helped shape a timeline that felt natural rather than rigid. No forced transitions, no stress, just people connecting over drinks, mountains in the background, and the hum of a really good afternoon.

Private Moment

As the sun dipped lower, Amanda and Jacob slipped away for a moment alone. Kara documented it all with a quiet sensitivity. Her photographs from this part of the day don’t lean on drama or grandeur—they’re about presence. You can feel how deeply these two were in it, together.

Reception & Decor

The reception took place under a clear-top tent on the deck at Three Peaks Lodge. Premier Party Rental outfitted the space with wooden cross-back chairs and crisp linens, while Juniper Flowers brought in low, painterly arrangements that felt plucked from the surrounding hills. Dahlias, ranunculus, and golden rudbeckia added pops of late-summer color to each table.

String lights crisscrossed the ceiling, and disco balls hung from antler chandeliers. The vibe: mountain lodge meets retro dance party.

The toasts were personal and moving. Jacob’s parents spoke with warmth and humor, and the couple thanked guests with genuine appreciation. Amanda and Jacob shared their first dance to “At Last” by Etta James under a canopy of twinkling lights.

Later, slices of wedding cake, made by D’Elissious Cake Studioand decorated with fresh flowers, were passed around. Then came the pizza, late-night cigars, and a packed dance floor, thanks to DJ Shazam Bangles. Amanda swapped her veil for a mirrorball cowboy hat, and the energy shifted from sentimental to electric.

There was no big reveal or dramatic moment, just a flow of thoughtful details and good energy from start to finish. Amanda and Jacob created a celebration that didn’t chase trends or try to impress. It felt honest, connected, and entirely theirs.
