A Hedonistic Italian Wedding Built Around Food, Wine, and Mood

Captured by February 30th Stories, Chiara and Enrico’s wedding at Borgo di Camporsevoli felt like Catholic-core meets Italian summer table culture. The whole day was built on contrast: the ritual side came through in the lace, the church, and the religious restraint of the ceremony, while the more hedonistic side showed up in the welcome dinner, with very grounded, very delicious kind of Italian table energy.

Location: Tuscany, Italy
Style: Family-style, Personal, Natural
Time of planning: 10 months
Number of guests:40
Setting: Borgo
Season: Summer

Chiara and Enrico first met at work, where friendship came first and the relationship grew from there. Enrico proposed at home in winter, by the Christmas tree, and they later marked the beginning of their engagement with a trip to Venice. From the start, they knew they wanted the wedding to feel personal, so they planned a relaxed weekend centered on their closest people and the kind of atmosphere where everyone could actually spend time together, all captured on film by Ghirardello Films.

Welcome Day

The welcome dinner set the tone right away. Long tables dressed in striped linens, tomato-red accents throughout, candles, fresh bread, and wine constantly being poured gave it that very specific relaxed, generous air and appetite. Later in the evening, sparkers brought in a more playful shift, giving the whole night that easy summer-party feeling.

It also helped that Chiara and Enrico kept their looks for the welcome day incredibly simple. She wore an easy, comfortable dress that felt completely right for the setting, while he went with a T-shirt and a much more relaxed look than the formality of the wedding day. That choice made the whole thing feel even more grounded. It was just a very good-looking way to start the weekend, built around taste, ease, and people actually enjoying themselves.

Bride's Morning & Fashion

Chiara had a very clear vision of how she wanted to look on the wedding day, and that vision became the starting point for the entire celebration. Her Anna Spose gown was custom-made through a long and detailed process, with lace becoming the key element not only of her bridal look but of the whole wedding concept.

She chose Narciso Rodriguez as her fragrance, and her pearl earrings were a gift from her mother, which made them one of the most personal parts of the look. Hair and makeup were done by Giorgia Bedin.

She had always wanted peonies in her bouquet, and Cin Cin Flora Studio managed to include them even though they were out of season, which made that detail especially emotional for her. One of the most meaningful moments of the day was her first look with her father.

Groom’s Fashion

Enrico’s look was classic, understated, and very intentional: a Loro Piana smoking jacket, Henderson shoes, and Hermès details. Just a clean, refined take on formalwear that fit the tone of the wedding perfectly.

Ceremony

The ceremony took place in the small church inside Borgo di Camporsevoli, so it was intimate by scale from the start. It was officiated by Chiara’s cousin, Father Gabriele, which made it feel even more personal and tied it directly to family and faith. The lovebirds describe the ceremony as quiet, sincere, and non-performative, something centered on presence.

“Being united by a family member in the presence of God gave the ceremony a depth that felt delicate, spiritual and profoundly human."

With only 40 guests, the ceremony naturally felt closer and more personal. One of the most memorable moments came when Chiara entered the church and met Enrico’s eyes, and that feeling carried through to their exit, when they walked back out hand in hand as husband and wife, greeted with applause instead of anything staged like soap bubbles, which made the moment feel even more real and sweet.

Cocktail Hour

The cocktail hour kept that same sense of intention. The food and drinks were clearly thought through, not just added in as a transition between the ceremony and dinner, and everything sat naturally within the setting. Rough stone, faded walls, shutters, gravel, old rugs, darkened wood, church plaster, street lamps, and simple tableware all made it feel like the wedding had been built into the rhythm of the place.

Moments Together

After the ceremony, Chiara and Enrico had a quieter moment near the church, where the photos felt slower and more intimate. By the time the reception started, the whole thing switched up, and the images got much faster, livelier, and more flash-led, matching the energy of the night.

The moments together felt very aligned with the way February 30th Stories approach photography. Their work is all about observing and letting things unfold naturally. You can see that in how the newlyweds are captured, without heavy posing, just small interactions, glances, movement.

Reception

The reception design followed a very clear logic set by the bride’s look. Oltre Studio translated the lace of Chiara’s dress directly into the space through lighter, more diffused floral arrangements, soft dusty tones, and warm Tuscan colors that felt natural and tactile.

Clouds of hydrangeas and clusters of grapes were used instead of anything too structured, while overhead strings of warm lights added that slightly imperfect, lived-in glow. It all read as an extension of the place itself, with the borgo’s stone, textures, and age doing half the work.

As the evening unfolded, the mood shifted into something much more relaxed and social. There were signature cocktails, speeches, and a first dance, but it never felt overly programmed. Chiara tossed the bouquet, and instead of a traditional cake, they cut into a crisp mille-feuille, which kept the tone light and a bit unexpected.

Advice from the couple:

• Focus on what feels true to them instead of trying to meet expectations.

• It is important to work with a planner who understands you and can guide the process in a calm and supportive way.
