A Glam New Year’s Eve Wedding in the Vineyard of Sonoma

Location: Sonoma, California
Setting: Barn
Wedding season: Winter
How long did the couple plan the event: 1.5 years
The number of guests: 75
Wedding theme/style: Glam, festive, modern.

In the heart of Brooklyn’s cityscape, NYC, Stuart and Scott’s love story began on a spontaneous night out, a mere two days after Scott had moved to the city. Their first trip as a couple was to charming Sonoma, CA, and this small town that stole their hearts. Surrounded by picturesque vibes and the allure of wineries, the decision was made — Sonoma would be the canvas for their dreamy wedding.

Choosing the magic of New Year’s Eve as their wedding date, Stuart and Scott collaborated with the incredible planner, Stephanie at Viva L’Event. As it was a holiday destination wedding, they wanted to create an unforgettable celebration that would stay in the memories of their guests. As the venue for their winter wedding they chose The Barn at Harrow Cellars, nestled in a vineyard.

The bride wore a Romona Keveza dress with an asymmetrical bodice complemented by a tender pearl bodysuit crafted by Alison Webb. A custom-made veil adorned with lace from her mother’s wedding gown and heels by Renee Caovilla completed her elegant ensemble. Orchids delicately nestled in the baby’s breath bridal bouquet added a touch of grace.

Scott, the groom, created a simple yet sophisticated look — a white blazer paired with a classic black bow tie. He made it more comfortable and closer to his personality by choosing sneakers over shoes.

Before the heartfelt ceremony unfolded, the couple had a divinely beautiful first look among this idyllic nature that is Sonoma’s calling card. They then enjoyed a picturesque photo session in the vineyard under the soothing shade of a willow tree. The talented Marylou of All Bliss Photography skillfully captured the vibrant, soulful photos. Known for her knack for infusing style and cinematic allure into wedding shots, her captivating use of colors and composition always impresses.

The ceremony unfolded in an intimate circular setting, creating a unique space where Stuart and Scott stood at the center, surrounded by their loved ones. The circular design prompted the creation of a statement floral piece — clouds of baby’s breath interwoven with disco balls — hanging above as witnesses to the beautiful kiss that concluded the ceremony.

The ethereal baby’s breath seamlessly extended to the table settings, where candles radiated an intimate glow, reminiscent of the magic of New Year’s Eve.

The reception kicked off with the couple’s dance and a delightful cake tasting, setting the stage for an evening filled with festive touches, delectable cuisine, an ice cream truck, and an open bar.

As evening fell, Stuart changed into a stylish ensemble — blazer, top, and pants by Nadine Merabi, paired with Nike sneakers for a touch of comfort and flair.

At midnight, instead of the traditional sparkler sendoff, guests were gifted individual confetti cannons. A serendipitous accident occurred as streamers caught in the floral display overhead, creating a whimsical cascade that became the backdrop for a night of dancing.

All Bliss Photography captured not only the breathtaking shots of the entire wedding but also the moments that radiated sheer joy.

Advice from the couple:

• Holiday weddings can be controversial, but if you’re going to do it, embrace the theme. Although our wedding was the reason for the gathering, we didn’t want to lose sight of the fact that the day meant something else to our guests as well. We hoped to create a magical night they would remember for years to come.
