Todd and Kaitlyn met in a cupcake shop eight years ago. Their love story began in Denver, Colorado, and blossomed through their shared adventures across the globe, from Thailand to Saint Martin. But they always knew that their marriage would take place in the country they both cherished—France. The couple adores its culture and beautiful architecture.
Their journey to the dream wedding started with an unexpected proposal in Portugal. Kaitlyn booked their wine tour, keeping all the details under wraps. However, when Todd sets his mind on something, he’s unstoppable. He found this tour, emailed the tour guide, and planned the engagement by having one of their stops be a lookout over the Douro Valley, where he popped the question.
The surprise completely caught Kaitlyn off guard. Todd arranged for a photographer and had champagne ready, turning the moment into a full-fledged photo session to commemorate the celebration. A delightful touch was having their adorable dog, Miley, present for the occasion!
The historic Chateau de Courtomer, a picturesque backdrop for the celebration, set the stage for a wedding that seamlessly blended classic elegance with French charm. The couple chose the chateau for its cultural richness, stunning architecture, and dog-friendly atmosphere — a perfect fit for their beloved pup, Miley. Furthermore, the venue offered a three-day stay, creating a special experience for them alongside their closest friends and family.
The bride wore an a-line classic silk gown by Eva Lendel, embodying timeless elegance. Her minimal and classic makeup accentuated her natural beauty, while a custom cathedral pearl veil completed the look. The choice to wear her hair down added a touch of sophistication to her ensemble.
The groom opted for a classic black suit, a crisp white shirt, and no tie. His effortlessly chic ensemble perfectly complemented the French aesthetic wedding.
Against the majestic backdrop of the Chateau, Todd and Kaitlyn exchanged vows in front of a beautiful round arch adorned with white flowers. Amidst the presence of family, friends, and their furry companion, the couple signed their marriage certificate, with Miley leaving her unique mark with a paw print.
While guests relished a delightful cocktail hour with a summer vibe in the estate garden, the couple, accompanied by Miley, ventured into a beautiful photo session around the estate’s perimeter.
Miley, the couple’s beloved dog, joined them for a captivating photo session across the expansive territory of the Chateau. The resulting images exude a timeless romantic charm, reminiscent of love stories from the 1800s.
The reception unfolded with a stylish table setting arranged by the dedicated planners from Sofia’s Weddings and Events. The dusty blue and white color scheme prevailed, capturing the essence of French country chic and mirroring the overall theme of the wedding inspired by the beautiful chateau itself and its vibe. The dinner took place on a long table in front of the estate, adorned with flowers and numerous candles lining its length. The gorgeous flowers, with pops of blue, added a beautiful touch to the setting.
Warm words were shared, creating a cozy and close-knit atmosphere as everyone gathered around one long table in front of the Chateau.
The evening came and Kaitlyn changed into a second dress, adding a new layer of sophistication to the celebration.
The warm glow from the mansion’s windows served as a romantic backdrop as the couple cut their wedding cake, concluding the festivities on a sweet note.
Sofia’s Weddings and Events managed to create the every girl’s dream wedding: chic, classic and elegant day that we all secretly wish looking through bridal magazines or watching romantic movies. From the photo session in green fields with long gown and couple’s little friend, concluding with charming evening with warm lights of Chateau – this day is a majestic work of wedding planner.
Advice from couple:
• Try not to stress about every single detail. Everything will come together as it’s supposed to; I was stressed about choosing cutlery and flowers and worried about changing my mind every day. Trust the process. If you can, get a wedding planner to help calm you down when you’re overwhelmed. I had one of the best and couldn’t have planned the wedding so quickly without her!
