Sahand and Rose met on Feeld — “a divine app for curious folk,” as they like to say. It was lockdown, and everything had to be done differently. With the world paused, their connection grew slowly, deliciously. Hours of voice notes, watching films together from separate homes, then staying up late to talk about them — their relationship bloomed in quiet, tender ways. When restrictions eased, they became each other’s bubble, crossing London for cozy weekends filled with walks, tea, and the feeling of home in one another.
Location: Essex, UK
Style: DIY, Saltburn, Garden Wedding
Number of guests: 140
Setting: Backyard wedding
Season: Spring
The proposal was straight out of a dream: a sun-soaked day on still Greek waters after hours of wine and laughter. Sahand slipped into the sea, grinning up with a sparkle in his eye — and with an ancient Persian ring tied to his swim trunks, he asked simply: “Will you?” The wedding was just as heartwarming. Held at the bride’s family home, with a ceremony in the abandoned church next door and a garden party to follow, it was a joyful merging of cultures, families, and personal style — honest, vibrant, and completely their own.
Bride's Morning & Fashion
Rose wore a stunning Monique Lhuillier dress she scored at a Browns Bride sample sale — a find she never expected. “Sahand had actually found the link and sent me off to the appointment,” she said, and it turned out to be a perfect match. Though the gown had a small blue stain near the hem, it only added charm: “They gave me a further discount because of it — this became my something blue!”
"My footwear was always going to have to be about comfort as I am usually a barefoot lady, my dad suggested I wear Crocs, chuckling."
Rose, The Bride
Rose knew exactly what she wanted for her wedding look — and, more importantly, what she didn’t. “I didn’t want to get a makeup artist as I always think you end up looking like someone else,” she shared. Instead, she put the budget toward new makeup and called in her close friend Storm to get ready together, just the two of them.
The look was intentionally simple: a delicate line over the eyes, a fresh, dewy finish — though, as Rose laughed, “waking up with two fat spots on my face that morning meant some intense coverage was needed there. Bloody typical!”
Groom's Fashion
Sahand couldn’t shake the image of a dazzling, bejeweled suit he’d seen from Bode in New York — “I couldn’t get it out of my mind.” After searching high and low, he found an Italian suit by Canali, crafted in a luxurious silk-linen blend: “linen for breathability and silk for a touch of elegance.”
Still, the vision wasn’t complete. After weeks of research, Sahand tracked down Bode’s exact jewel supplier and ordered the same colors and quantities. On a trip to Sweden, he brought the suit and crystals to his mom, who “worked tirelessly for hours, days, and weeks” hand-sewing over 200 stones into the lining. He finished the look with Bode’s ballet-inspired black leather lace-up pumps and his mom’s light pink pearl necklace — the perfect match for the pink gems threaded through his one-of-a-kind suit.
Ceremony
The ceremony was a true fusion of cultures — a Persian altar set inside a traditional, long-retired Anglo church. “We had cousins rubbing sugar above our heads, singing hymns, reciting Rumi poetry, and feeding each other honey,” they recalled. The symbolism, the blending of rituals, the love in the room — it moved everyone, especially “both our grandmothers, the most traditional on each side,” who were brought to tears by the way their cherished customs came together so seamlessly.
Sahand remembers one moment with perfect clarity: “I felt immense pride as I watched my niece and nephew confidently walk into the church as page boys and girls, smiling at everyone and holding the order of service under their arms.” But nothing compared to what came next — “Then she walked in, and the world stopped, and at that moment, all I felt was: This is everything I ever want it to be.”
"Standing at the altar and looking back at all our most beloved friends and family, Sahand’s hand in mine, it was magic."

Cocktail Hour
Right after the ceremony, the newlyweds stepped into the sunshine and wandered through the gardens, hand in hand. It was a rare, quiet moment to soak it all in before the celebrations began.
"The Richters are true visionaries. We chose them not only for their incredible energy but for their infectious sense of humor, tenderness, and heart—qualities that shine through in every photograph."

Special Touches
The wedding was a true labor of love, led by Rose’s creative vision and brought to life by family and friends — especially when it came to the flowers. “We took an all-hands-on-deck approach—natural, unpretentious, with a hint of hobbity-ness,” she shared. Loved ones arrived with foxgloves, daisies, and love-in-a-mist from gardens and farms, while the floral team was “my mum, her best friends, all the bonkers aunts, and friends with babies on their hips.” It was, as Rose perfectly put it, “deliciously chaotic” — and filled with heart.
The food was a true highlight, catered by Rose’s childhood friend from Kochi Kitchen. Though he’d never made Persian food before, he embraced the challenge of feeding 140 guests. “From the start, we knew Persian food was non-negotiable,” Rose said. After tasting Archie’s cooking, it was clear he was the one. He brought Persian flavors to a garden in Essex — even Sahand’s grandmother was impressed. Dessert? Rose’s granny made the perfect carrot cake, topped with garden daisies, and Little Moons mochis added a modern, playful touch.
Dinner & Party
Dinner was a love story in itself—a vibrant Persian-inspired feast that brought two cultures together on every plate. There was no first dance in the traditional sense; instead, Rose and Sahand dove straight into a whirlwind of Persian dance music, surrounded by their family in what Rose described as “a wild wind of love and chaos.”
The music was unforgettable. Rose’s friends, the incredibly magnetic S.O.L Collective, brought the tent to life with their electrifying energy. Later, Robbie Enriques took over with a brilliantly unhinged set blending Persian beats and ’90s nostalgia. The dance floor turned into joyful chaos—barefoot dancing, a spinning disco ball, and Rose’s little nephew confidently leading the crowd in full Persian flair.
And just when the night couldn’t get any better? A perfectly timed 1:30 a.m. McDonald’s drop: cheeseburgers with extra pickles and chicken nuggets, lovingly arranged by Rose’s dad and brothers.
"They went above and beyond, delivering an incredible album and a breathtaking video. The Richters are artists!"
