Red Bows, Cherry Cake and a View of Sacré-Cœur

Set high above the Paris rooftops in Montmartre, this wedding editorial reimagines the city’s romance through a modern, cinematic lens. With Hotel Rochechouart’s Art Deco charm as its backdrop, planner Angie Maraval brought together an extraordinary creative team to craft a celebration that feels intimate, stylish, and unapologetically Parisian — where soft morning rituals give way to rooftop vows, long-table lunches, and a club-lit night that ends with heels in hand and champagne still flowing.

Bridal Morning

The day began with softness and light. Estelle, wrapped in a feather-trimmed robe by L’Atelier du Peignoir Paris, stood on the balcony of the hotel as morning poured across the rooftops of Montmartre. Her earrings, a sculptural drop design, caught the light gently, and her makeup played with peach tones and luminous skin. Hair stylist pulled her dark hair into a soft updo, letting the robe’s delicate sleeves and feathered cuffs remain the focal point.

"The bride and her closest friends enjoy a relaxed morning, wrapped in soft robes, indulging in a breakfast in bed spread of fresh French pastries and fruit.”

Her bridal look reflected everything this editorial stands for—modernity with texture, minimalism with impact. The gown by Camille Marguet featured a high halter neckline and clean silhouette – that the kind of dress that speaks softly but leaves a strong impression. She paired it with jewelry by Celinni Paris, and every detail of her look honored the aesthetic direction: Parisian chic, elevated without trying too hard.

The bridesmaids wore satin gowns and coordinated robes in blush tones. In the morning, they gathered on the bed for champagne and laughter, their looks relaxed and feminine. Each carried a textured handbag by Nimette Paris, adding a playful accent to their otherwise minimalist styling.

Ceremony

The rooftop ceremony unfolded in golden light, with the domes of the Sacré-Cœur rising in soft focus just beyond the glass balustrade. Nina from Nino Studio Floral created two sculptural garden-style arrangements, anchoring the altar space with unruly spring textures. Yellow eremurus, soft tulips, and deep plum fritillaries spilled from woven pedestals, blurring the line between urban setting and botanical poetry.

"Against the backdrop of Sacré-Cœur and the city’s landscapes, they exchange vows in an intimate, heartfelt moment.”

The layout remained intentionally intimate. Guests sat close, forming a semi-circle around Estelle and Younes as they exchanged vows beneath the open sky. After their kiss, the space filled with applause and laughter. The couple walked back through their loved ones, hand in hand, calla lilies in her hand and sunlight on her dress.

Decor & Flowers

The reception combined vintage architecture with directional styling. A long table ran through the center of the space, dressed in white linen and layered with deep burgundy dahlias, orange ranunculus, and sculptural calla lilies placed in low glass vessels and small black blocks. Candles in varying heights brought warmth, while napkins were folded with care and finished with red satin bows bearing each guest’s name. It was romantic and passionate, rooted in bold contrast, tailored detail, and that signature Parisian balance between softness and strength.

Reception

The newlyweds made their entrance to a chorus of applause, hand in hand, and faces lit with laughter. Guests raised glasses in celebration as Estelle and Younes took their seats for a relaxed, elegant dinner. The meal unfolded slowly—French courses, thoughtful pairings, and warm conversation punctuated by the occasional clink of cutlery and laughter between friends. At the long table, toasts flowed easily. Each one brought more warmth, more joy, a sense that this wasn’t just a shoot—it felt like a wedding that had already happened, one that everyone was grateful to be part of.

Created by Leri Mon Chéri, the tiered cake was playful and bold, decorated with piped garlands and bright red cherries. Estelle and Younes sliced into it together, laughing as they fed each other with gold dessert knives. The moment felt spontaneous, real—cheered on by guests who had already slipped into the comfort of the evening.

After Party

For the evening celebration, Estelle changed into a flirty mini dress with a cascade of white fringe and a matching textured headband. The look felt playful and bold—designed to dance in.

Before the party picked up, she with Younes and took a few quiet moments with Pattie of Pattie Fellowes Photography. Those shots felt different: raw, a little mischievous, cinematic. Like the night had already started, but the best part was still coming.

Downstairs, the mood had shifted. The hotel’s club was glowing in warm red and gold light, candles flickering between signature cocktails and martini glasses, while a champagne tower waited in the center like a sculpture. The bar backdrop was dramatic, and the florals echoed the ceremony—spring tones tucked into the corners, this time with a touch more edge.

The guests embraced the mood too. Gowns turned into satin slips and sequins, heels returned, and the atmosphere became electric. Estelle and Younes poured champagne together as laughter bubbled around them. The tower overflowed, and the dance floor followed. It was the kind of party that didn’t need direction. It found its rhythm on its own—with music, movement, and that unspoken understanding that some nights in Paris really are meant to last.

"As the DJ plays the perfect song, hands lift glasses for one final toast, and the celebration carries on, because in Paris, some nights should never end: La fête à Paris.”

"With the help of an exceptional team of vendors, we brought to life a unique Parisian wedding editorial, just minutes from the Sacré-Cœur.”
