The Mount Without, with its soaring ceilings and beautifully worn textures, became the perfect location for a wedding editorial that blends modern style with timeless romance. The idea was simple: to create something that feels both elevated and intimate. A little moody, a little soft, and full of thoughtful details that tell a love story without words.
From the very beginning, the intention was to create something that felt deeply considered—curated yet organic, minimal yet rich with emotion. Inspired by the quiet elegance of sculptural florals, soft candlelight, and a few unexpected twists, the concept was designed to feel curated but not overly styled. Natural, artistic, and totally unforgettable, captured on video by Ross Kerr Films.
Planning & Concept
The creative direction and planning were led by the incredibly talented Amanda Whiston Events, whose eye for detail and love for clean, intentional design brought this shoot to life. They drew inspiration from art, architecture, and the venue itself—especially its raw textures and haunting beauty. The goal was to create a setting that felt effortless and editorial all at once.
With concept and planning by Amanda Whiston Events and photography by Rebecca Kerr Photography, every detail was captured with intention and care. It reminds us that weddings don’t have to be big or bold to be unforgettable. Sometimes, it’s the quiet details that leave the biggest impression.
Fashion Choices
When it came to bridal style, the looks were all about balance: classic silhouettes with modern details. Gowns from Watters and Jeune Bridal, from The Ivory Edit, offered two distinct vibes. One, a dramatic silk satin gown with voluminous sleeves and an open back, felt right at home in the grand setting. The other, a pleated corset dress, was delicate and timeless—perfect under the glow of candlelight.
Accessories were kept minimal and meaningful: delicate lace veils from Richard Designs, heirloom-inspired jewelry by Moon and Sixpence, and sculptural rings by Rachel Muscat London. Hair by Katrina Kelly was sleek and pulled back to let the textures of the dresses shine, while Makeup by ZK kept skin luminous, eyes soft, and the overall beauty look editorial, not overdone.
Ceremony
When it came to the ceremony design, Katie Olivier Blooms delivered something truly poetic. Florals cascaded gently down the venue’s ancient steps, mingling with pools of candlelight in a way that felt almost sacred.
Using a palette of creamy whites and soft textures—orchids, baby’s breath, and hydrangeas—the team leaned into both movement and stillness, creating arrangements that felt like they were growing from the space itself.
Reception & Details
The reception setup leaned into softness and texture. Instead of standard chairs, there were fabric-draped cubes that added a modern, sculptural feel. The tableware was artisanal and earthy, while the stationery by Lucy McSpirit Design had this perfectly imperfect, hand-finished look that tied everything back to the venue’s aged beauty.
One of the most striking elements? A sculptural cake by Anna Lewis Cakes, with delicate sugar ruffles cascading in waves like petals in motion. Soft blush tones peeked through the layers, giving the whole thing a romantic, sculptural vibe. It wasn’t just dessert—it was a centerpiece.
And for a playful, interactive touch? A martini tower alongside an olive structure, plus French fries served on vintage silver trays. These little moments added personality without taking away from the elevated feel—proof that luxury can (and should) be fun and personal.

"My work is heavily tailored and focused on detail, adding detail to everything we do in our designs, communication, guest experience, and planning, and creating an editorial shoot that embodies this is such a wonderful feeling and achievement.”
