Immanuel and Tricia’s story is one of timing and connection, two people whose paths crossed, drifted, and found their way back to each other. Grounded in faith and shared values, their love grew naturally and effortlessly. Before the wedding, they wanted to capture that feeling, the calm, the joy, the excitement, in a pre-wedding shoot with photographer Morii Space, turning a simple moment into something timeless and beautifully real.
The couple wanted to move away from the typical outdoor pre-wedding shoots often seen in Singapore, choosing instead a modern space that brought a fresh, contemporary twist to an oriental-inspired concept. “To us, the main purpose for the pre-wedding shoot was to have some photos of us to feature on our wedding day,” they shared.
Planning & Location
The pre-wedding styled shoot, planned by the team at The Genuine Vows, took six months from planning to execution. During this time, the team collaborated closely on designing the moodboard, coordinating with vendors, pitching ideas to the venue, and bringing the entire vision to life. Jiak Kim House served as the perfect setting, a modern Asian restaurant carved from a 1920s riverside warehouse, with high ceilings, exposed trusses, and custom rattan details, once home to Singapore’s iconic Zouk.
Style
When the team was approached to style this pre-wedding shoot, the designer got to work creating pieces that perfectly fit the concept. Tricia’s first look was timeless and elegant, with a mermaid gown by Glisten Couture featuring a sweetheart neckline, organza and satin drapes, a thigh-high slit, and a detachable statement bow. Her makeup and hair by Vic Hwang were fresh and glowing, while her black-and-white lily bouquet by Sanwraps completed the look beautifully.
The groom wore a sleek black tuxedo by Seamless Bespoke, keeping the look modern and effortless. Together, the couple and all the curated details brought the vision to life, creating an intimate, stylish, and contemporary pre-wedding shoot.
Every Detail Tells a Story
The Genuine Vows built the shoot concept around the beauty of contrast. To bridge the “modern” and the “oriental,” the team chose a timeless color palette of deep emerald, ivory, and burgundy. Phalaenopsis orchids, burgundy calla lilies, and a lush fruit still life of grapes, figs, and pears echoed the styling moodboard. It took effort to find the perfect shade of calla lilies, but it was worth it to complete the palette. Candlelight and warm hues softened the geometry and shadows of the space, infusing it with a quiet romance.
The team at Kekki Cake designed a modern and elegant cake that blended texture with artistry, something fresh and unexpected for the couple. Drawing inspiration from the shoot’s color palette and floral choices, they incorporated the trending dome-flower cake style, adding delicate wafer-paper detailing for dimension. The cake felt both fashion-forward and deeply personal, reflecting the couple’s individuality and the shoot’s aesthetic.
"Having a trusty team of vendors come together to bring the moodboard to life was exciting and creatively inspiring. Even though it's their first shoot as a couple, being able to capture their chemistry and tell their love story was satisfying."

Where Modern Meets Oriental
The oriental storytelling shines through in Tricia’s unique dark teal Cheongsam, a traditional gown reimagined with a modern twist. Crafted in elegant emerald teal satin, the design is sleek and refined, offering a contemporary take on classic oriental aesthetics. For the groom’s second look, inspiration was drawn from the sophistication of old Shanghai, reinterpreted through a modern lens to complement the shoot’s oriental concept.
The entire pre-wedding shoot was beautifully captured by Morii Space, who created a relaxed and intimate atmosphere, allowing the couple to feel completely at ease during their first shoot together. The images are effortlessly elegant, full of personality, and truly reflective of the couple’s style.
"We felt the luxe theme while keeping it fun, really suited our vibe! All vendors were so nice to work with, which made the entire experience so enjoyable."
