A Chic City Elopement with Retro Convertible and Vintage Glam

Inspired by the allure of classic cinema and the grace of timeless fashion icons, the “Rendez-vous” shoot by Shotlife Studio brings a contemporary twist to vintage elegance. Photographers Lusine and Jacob, the creative duo behind the studio, captured this elopement-style editorial with a modern-vintage flair, steering clear of traditional poses to create a series of spontaneous and intimate moments that tell a captivating story of romance and sophistication.

“From the beginning, we wanted to evoke a lifestyle aesthetic,” shares Lusine and Jacob. The result is a visually stunning narrative that feels both authentic and fabulously chic, reminiscent of the glamour of icons like Sophia Loren and Brigitte Bardot.

“The goal was to blend the natural interactions of the couple with the chic styling and scenic backdrop, steering away from traditional, posed setups.”

The stunning bride, Ana, a model and influencer, showcased a captivating custom couture mini-dress by Valencienne. The one-shoulder silhouette featured bold floral accents along the hemline, adding a playful yet sophisticated touch to the look. Complementing the dress was a matching veil that added an ethereal quality to the ensemble. She paired her gown with delicate white lace stockings and classic gloves, channeling a retro aesthetic that felt both nostalgic and refreshingly modern.

Ana’s hair was styled in voluminous, soft waves, a nod to the iconic Brigitte Bardot, while her makeup, done by Blushxbalm, featured a soft, romantic palette that accentuated her natural beauty. The overall look was a harmonious blend of vintage charm and contemporary elegance, making her a true vision of modern-vintage glamour.

Dima, the groom, kept his look simple yet stylish, perfectly complementing the bride’s chic ensemble. He donned a classic black suit with a white shirt, exuding effortless sophistication. Opting for a relaxed and modern vibe, he paired his suit with white sneakers, adding a touch of casual elegance to his outfit. The contrast of his laid-back style against the bride’s glamorous look created a balanced dynamic that reflected the shoot’s theme of blending old-world charm with contemporary sensibilities.

The shoot took place in various locations around Toronto, including a coastal spot with breathtaking views of the lake. The couple’s natural chemistry was the centerpiece of the shoot, with each shot capturing their authentic interactions and playful energy. This approach resulted in a series of images that felt genuine and lived-in, like a glimpse into a beautiful love story unfolding in real-time.

“We wanted the couple to feel at ease and for their connection to shine through.”

One of the most striking elements of the shoot was the inclusion of a vintage red Fiat convertible provided by Sophie Fiat and Nordic Tipis Canada. The car’s distinct European elegance perfectly matched the shoot’s aesthetic, serving as both a stylish prop and a symbol of the couple’s journey. Instead of static poses, the couple interacted naturally with the car, leaning into the doors, sharing smiles, and creating scenes that felt like a chic European getaway.

The floral design, a delicate bouquet of Lily of the Valley by Fleur du Solenn, added a quaint charm to the shoot, enhancing the overall theme of timeless romance. The choice of flowers, with their subtle elegance and nostalgic connotations, perfectly complemented the bride’s look and the vintage vibe of the shoot.

With its thoughtful design elements, picturesque locations, and a story that feels both nostalgic and current, it stands as an inspiration for couples looking to create their own unique love story.
