At WedVibes, we’re always drawn to the stories behind the aesthetics—the vision boards, voice notes, and late-night Pinterest scrolls that quietly shape iconic wedding moments. So, we did what we do best: reached out to real brides who are planning weddings their way. From spontaneous proposals to guest lists made on Google Docs, these brides are rewriting the rules and curating celebrations that feel less like tradition and more like self-expression.

In this series, they open up about the moodboards they can’t stop tweaking, the TikTok trends they’re into, and the vendors who just get it. Expect real love stories, real planning highs (and lows), and plenty of inspiration for your own “main character” moment.

Meet The Couple

Agnese and Gaetano are both Italian, originally from the Amalfi Coast, and have been living in London for nearly 13 years. They moved there at a young age to pursue their dream careers and are now both part of the wedding industry, Agnese as a sustainable bridal designer and Gaetano as an international videographer. In their free time, they enjoy spending time with their cat Annamaria (who, as they like to say, is Italian too), cooking, and going on nature walks.

How did you meet?

We met in Italy. Growing up in a small village on the Amalfi Coast, we were aware of each other through mutual friends, but it wasn’t until one friend properly introduced us that we connected.

The Proposal

We were on a work-and-leisure trip to Volterra in Tuscany, one of our favorite places in Italy. After dinner one evening, we returned to our B&B, where there was a pergola lit with fairy lights overlooking the vineyards. The proposal was simple, intimate, and deeply personal, just like us. We’ve never been drawn to big public gestures, so having that quiet, magical moment to ourselves in a place we love meant everything.

The Wedding Vision

1. When and where is your wedding taking place?

July 2027 at Castello di Limatola in southern Italy.

2. Describe your wedding in 3 words.

Dark, Romantic, Medieval.

3. What are three non-negotiable elements for your big day?

Music: Music is a huge part of our lives, and we want the day to feel full of energy and joy. We love many different genres and want to celebrate that.

Food: As Italians from the south, food is central to who we are. We want to honor our heritage while also incorporating flavors and dishes we’ve discovered through our travels.

The atmosphere: We’re working with our incredible planner and friend, Ester Chianelli, to bring our creative and artistic vision to life and ensure the day’s overall feeling is exactly right.

Planning Process

1. What’s been the highlight of your planning process so far?

Finding our dream venue has been a major highlight. We always knew we wanted a castle, but it was important for us to stay connected to our home region. Castello di Limatola exceeded every expectation, and we fall in love with it more each day. Choosing Jack Stocker as our photographer was another special moment. We know he will capture everything beautifully. For Agnese, designing her own wedding dress is also incredibly meaningful. It will be challenging, but deeply emotional.

2. What’s surprised you most about wedding planning?

Working in the wedding industry, we thought we understood it well. We didn’t. There is so much more behind the scenes than we ever realized. Experiencing it from the other side has completely changed our perspective. It has given us an even deeper respect for every supplier involved and made us truly appreciate our colleagues in the industry who bring these moments to life.

3. Is there an Instagram account, TikTok trend, or aesthetic you’re secretly loving right now?

We’re not particularly drawn to trends, especially since working in the industry has made us quite immune to them. Instead, we’re inspired by what naturally resonates with us. Agnese leans towards a more mystical and witchy aesthetic, while Gaetano draws inspiration from cinema and art.

4. What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone just starting their planning journey?

Celebrate yourselves authentically and create a day that genuinely reflects who you are.
