The Designer
Nardos Imam was born and raised in Eritrea, where the rhythmic hum of her mother’s sewing machine ignited her passion for the fashion industry. Upon relocating to the United States, she pursued her dreams by studying costume design at El Centro College in Dallas, Texas. After graduating, she became the in-house designer at Stanley Korshak, building a loyal following of customers drawn to her impeccable fit, eye for color, and unique architectural designs. In 2012, Nardos embarked on her entrepreneurial journey and launched her own fashion house, Nardos Couture.

“My inspiration can best be articulated through the fusion of American fashion from the Gilded Age with a contemporary twist. During that time, women used fashion not only as a form of expression but also as a reflection of their beliefs.”

The designer skillfully integrates the elegance of this Age with cues from opulent aesthetics while incorporating vibrant colors inspired by the exotic birds found in fine art. The result is a visual knockout! On the runway, lush green hues intertwine with coral tulle, textured jackets, playful tweed, geometric patterns, sheer fabrics, sculptural rosettes, and cascading ruffles.
