Phosphilic is Natasha and Rey, a husband-and-wife photography duo. Both were born and raised on the island of Puerto Rico. They met when they were students, and a huge part of the beginnings of their relationship was finding hidden spots around the island to photograph and enjoying many nights in the historical city of Old San Juan taking photos of each little corner and door they would find. These experiences and their backgrounds in philosophy, psychology, and music shaped their journey as wedding photographers. Photography was a serendipity thing for them, but it's been six years since wedding photography became their life project.
They believe that wedding photography represents the freedom that love provides to the human experience. Their goal with photography is to capture those things that are transitory yet permanent in life, turning each fleeting moment into poetic memories.
Their style takes inspiration from cinematography, literature, poems, and their own experience with love and family. They like to describe their style as a documentary but intentionally. They document weddings as they unfold by being intentional with each shot they take during the day.
Their editing style seeks to be true to tones to catch the authenticity of the day, but they also bring a lot of black and white into their editing, letting the images feel timeless.wo
They've traveled the world documenting couples in places like Italy, the USA, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Spain, Iceland, and Puerto Rico. They are bilingual, speaking Spanish as a first language and English as their second. This has allowed them to connect with different cultures and backgrounds around the world and serve their couples no matter their language or background.
Their work has been seen in world-renowned magazines and blogs like Green Wedding Shoes, British Vogue, Muna Luchi Brides, Junebug, Insider Magazine, and more. Still, their biggest pride is knowing these photos will accompany the lives of many through their journey of life. The thought of their couples sharing these images with generations to come is their fuel and a gift they want to share with others.
