Ginger and Joey’s 6 years journey from college sweethearts to life partners took a turn with a surprise proposal in Seattle. Joey chose a scenic waterfront spot near their apartment for the big moment, with Ginger’s brother capturing it all from his hiding spot. The day continued with celebrations at their favorite restaurant, surrounded by friends who were in on the surprise.
Shortly after, the couple started planning their wedding over a year in advance. Ginger highlighted, “I am a planner by nature but Bliss Events worked well with me to coordinate everything I wanted! After one call that they understood our vision and were the right planners for us.” She was particularly impressed with their ability to select the perfect vendors to bring their vision to life. Couple appreciated the opportunity to be involved in the planning process without feeling rushed, making her long-held wedding dreams a reality.
Ginger and Joey chose Nobu Los Cabos as their venue, because it was a meaningful spot for them, echoing their first vacation together and symbolizing their journey’s progression. The venue’s reputation for contemporary, elevated experiences promised the perfect backdrop for their celebration: “We wanted a modern chic yet romantic vibe for our wedding. The stunning minimal architecture of the Nobu venue with the dramatic ocean landscape as our backdrop was a visual focus, so this allowed the decor elements to be kept clean and “relatively” simple.” – Ginger shared.
Ginger spend morning in preparations for the day, surrounded by her bridesmaids and the serene ocean view. “Getting ready with my best friends was so special. We had the corner suite overlooking the pool and ocean and it was the perfect setting to kick off the festivities as we got hair and makeup done.”
Her dress was a masterpiece of simplicity and elegance, a Katherine Tash silk satin gown she fell in love with at first try. Customized it with a longer train and a lower back and paired with statement diamond earrings, it was the embodiment of her vision for a modern, chic bridal look.
The bridesmaids complemented her in shades of pale blue silk dresses – soft hues of the wedding’s palette.
Joey was dressing with his groomsmen, the mood was light, filled with laughter. They chose a classic look – a black three-piece suits with white shirts and bow ties.
“The first look with Joey was definitely one of my favorite moments. Joey always makes me feel at ease and seeing him after not seeing him all morning, and not spending the night prior together, made me realize just how in love with him I am! He was just trying to make me laugh the whole time we were taking pictures, which is just so him, he makes everyone, including me, laugh 24/7!” – shared the bride.
The ceremony itself was a reflection of their relationship — intimate and filled with genuine emotions. Joey’s best friend officiated, adding a personal touch that made the ceremony uniquely theirs. They exchanged vows under a dreamy 8-foot-tall floral arch with the ocean as a backdrop. “Normally I am super nervous about public speaking, but I felt completely calm. I was so excited it was finally happening. The entire setting of the wedding just felt so peaceful. It felt amazing seeing everything come together.” – Ginger said.
The design of the reception featured a striking glossed checkerboard dance floor, white florals, and artisan salad plates in various designs, adding pops of color and whimsy. “The Dance floor, for example, was a fun late addition,” Bonnie noted, highlighting how they balanced glam with their classic, neutral aesthetic.
“Although colorful flowers are trending, I wanted mainly white flowers for a timeless look. And we added lots of different kinds of flowers to give variety.” – added Ginger.
The couple added a lot of entertaining details for their guests: “Our take-a-shot and take-a-seat tequila shot reception seating chart was also a huge hit. Also we had film cameras floating around the reception so guests could capture their own photos. And we had a vintage black telephone that served as our audio guestbook.”
For the reception the bride changed her look for a customized couture Berta gown was gorgeous with sheer details and intricate lace that fused contemporary fashion with traditional elegance: “I wasn’t planning on a fancy reception dress, but the second I saw the couture Berta Privee dresses, I was in love.” – commented Ginger.
The evening started with the first dance of newlyweds to “Until I Found You”, which was choreographed and practiced for months. The dinner was a delicious 3-course-plated meal from Nobu: “It was so special having hundred of our favorite, closest people there with us, and the whole dinner felt out of a dream.” – couple said.
“We wanted to make sure there were memorable and authentic experiences throughout the night. From design details to cold fireworks and a champagne tower, this wedding was a hit for the guests, and Ginger’s many followers.” – shared the wedding planner.
Couple was dancing the night away with our friends and family: “Joey carefully curated the music and we got so many compliments on our song choices. There wasn’t one that you didn’t want to dance to!”
