Halle and Joel, a lovely couple from Missouri, wanted their wedding to be a blend of chic, modern, whimsical, and classic. Halle aimed for a fusion of California It-Girl flair with Midwest charm to reflect her personal style on her special day. Thanks to the dedicated planners at LZ Event Co and the hard work of their vendors, Halle and Joel were able to bring their dream wedding to life and create a truly magical day for themselves and their guests.
Halle aimed for an elegant and chic wedding look, choosing a minimalist yet stunning makeup and a wavy hairstyle. She picked the gorgeous Isla Gown from Ines di Santo, a gorgeous one-shoulder dress with a swooping drape across the back, leaving it slightly open. The dress was incredibly clean and chic, giving her the effortless bridal look she was dreaming of. She paired the look with silky heels and an organza ribbon wrapped around her ankles. Lastly, her ballet-length veil was adorned with mini pearls glistening from the sunlight.
When the bridesmaids first saw Halle in her wedding dress, they were moved to tears and couldn’t contain their emotions. It was a wonderful wedding morning filled with lots of love.
Joel had a great time getting ready for the wedding day ahead, eagerly anticipating the moment he would see his wife-to-be, Halle, in her stunning wedding gown.
The lovebirds had a sweet moment during their first look before the ceremony. They looked into each other’s eyes, feeling the love and excitement for the day ahead.
Halle had planned one more special first look – with her beloved grandfather, one of her closest family members. When he first looked at her, tears welled up in his eyes. He was overjoyed to be a part of their celebration.
The couple’s ceremony was truly memorable and heartwarming. When it came time to select an officiant, there was no doubt that Halle’s grandfather, Randy, was the perfect choice. Halle and her grandfather share a special and close bond, so there was no one else she wanted to officiate their ceremony. Throughout the service, family members read selected passages, including a recording from Joel’s grandfather, who couldn’t make it. With Halle’s grandpa leading the ceremony, there wasn’t a dry eye in the room during this heartfelt moment.
The newlyweds cherished the moments spent with their loved ones, captured by the photographer Anne Tenkhoff. Anne’s documentary style of photography mixed with film truly gave that effortless and in-the-moment look that Halle and Joel were looking for.
The talented team at LZ Event Co meticulously organized the reception space, with the florist Blooms by Morgan creating the perfect floral arrangements for Halle & Joel’s wedding day. Originally planning for a neutral monochromatic look, Halle switched to vibrant spring tones a month before the wedding, a decision that truly paid off. Morgan used a mix of garden roses, lisianthus, sweetpea, clematis, ranunculus, delphinium, and larkspur to create stunning garden-inspired floral arrangements. She also opted for clear ribbed glass candle holders with sandstone tapers and tall greenery tree-like arrangements to complement the venue’s neutral tones.
The couple also treated their guests to a dessert bar featuring treats from Sugar & Slice Bakery on Main, including cake pops, brownies, cookies, bars, and more. Additionally, they set up an audio guest book for guests to share warm wishes for the couple to enjoy later.
Halle and Joel had a truly wonderful celebration with their loved ones by their side. As a surprise to all of their guests and wedding party, the couple chose “Leather and Lace” by Stevie Nicks as their first dance song, which they enjoyed together throughout their relationship. The newlyweds were overjoyed to have everyone there celebrating their love.
It’s no secret that this couple loves sweets! Halle and Joel’s three-tiered wedding cake was originally a simple, modern design with colorful flowers. However, two weeks before the wedding, Halle saw her planner’s Instagram post showcasing a cake with thin, vertical, textured lines and had to make a last-minute change! The new modern cake became a stunning focal point in the venue.
After their private last dance, the newlyweds had a fun and spontaneous flash-photo style photoshoot upstairs in the bridal lounge with their photographer as Halle changed into her second look of the evening. This fun, sultry-style shoot was a very fun way for the pair to kick off the afterparty, where they went to a local dive bar to celebrate their marriage and ring in the Mother of the Bride’s birthday as the clock struck midnight.
