Halloween falls on Saturday, October 31 this year, so there’s no excuse to phone it in. Dressing up as a pair raises the stakes even more. Celebrities have been proving that for years, from Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner as Gomez and Morticia Addams to Kendall and Kylie Jenner as Batman Forever villains. We rounded up our favorite couples costume ideas, the makeup to finish them, and plenty of inspo from people who take this holiday very seriously.

Couples Costumes Worth Copying
Now, if you’re the couple who lives for horror movies and wants a costume with some bite, film is a good place to start here too. The classics still work: witches, skeletons, the undead. Frankenstein’s monster and his Bride get recreated year after year. Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker took their version for a ride in an orange ’72 Chevy in 2022. Beetlejuice and Lydia are another favorite, with his striped suit and her red wedding dress. Scary can also mean something else entirely. A pair of plague doctors in beaked masks looks eerie without a drop of fake blood. So does a UFO and the astronaut it came for.
The most fun costumes are often the unexpected ones. Celebrity moments, viral memes and even politicians are fair game. In 2024, couples all over the internet dressed as Lana Del Rey and her new husband, alligator tour guide Jeremy Dufrene: a white dress and veil for her, camo and an inflatable gator for him. Lana even left a comment on one couple’s version. Lady Gaga is another endless source, with almost every era worth copying. For something fresh this year, look to Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show. One of you goes as Bad Bunny, the other as one of the dancing sugarcane bushes that turned out to be real people.
And if you’d rather show up as something nobody has done yet, 2026 has plenty to work with. Sophie and Benedict from the new season of Bridgerton come with a built-in masquerade: a silver gown for her, a black mask for him. Hannah and Garrett from Off Campus are an easy pick for fans of the show. Andy Sachs from The Devil Wears Prada 2 works as a duo, with a friend playing Miranda. Horror fans can go as Nikki from Obsession. Our favorite, though, is Emma and Charlie from The Drama. Zendaya and Robert Pattinson play a couple whose wedding week goes off the rails, so a bridal gown and a bottle in hand for her plus a bloody nose for him tells the whole story.

Makeup to Match
Animal print is everywhere right now, and Halloween makeup is following along. Bambi freckles, tiger stripes and zebra lines are all over social media, with no shortage of tutorials to copy. They work well for couples too, since two matching animals instantly read as a set. Horror looks have their own range. Some take ten minutes and a little face paint. Others go full movie set, with prosthetics and fake wounds that take hours to apply. We kept our picks on the easier side. Each one looks great in photos and is simple enough to recreate at home.
