“Blue Mars,” created by Vow & Vision, is a contemporary-styled wedding shoot exploring the tension between bold color, futuristic design, and the raw beauty of an unexpected landscape. The vision was to build a wedding concept that felt futuristic, avant-garde, and unexpected while still holding onto real elegance, photographed by Ivory Rose Photography. The core inspiration came from the relationship between color, texture, and environment, a pull toward combining an almost futuristic palette with natural, industrial materials.
The contrast ran through everything: vibrant blue against reflective silver surfaces, raw stone textures set against desert-like surroundings, building a visual language that felt modern, artistic, and entirely apart from traditional wedding aesthetics. Von Schönstein‘s stationery captured that same tension perfectly, carrying the palette and the mood straight through to the smallest details.
Blue Mars
The location was one of the most important creative decisions behind this shoot. Instead of choosing a traditional wedding venue, the team selected an active concrete company in Austria, a place nobody would typically imagine hosting a wedding, or any kind of extraordinary event at all.
With no natural desert landscapes anywhere nearby, this environment made it possible to create the feeling of another world without ever leaving the country. Raw architecture and natural textures shaped the entire concept from there, the landscape becoming more than scenery, an active part of the story itself. “We wanted to create something that felt like a glimpse into a possible future of wedding design, where creativity, architecture, and nature come together in unexpected ways.”
Bridal Style in Silver and Blue
The bridal look centered on modern simplicity, layered with unexpected details. A sculptural white bustier paired with a silver skirt formed the foundation, creating a clean, contemporary silhouette that felt both elegant and avant-garde.
Styling carried the metallic theme forward, a sleek updo incorporating silver elements, paired with modern silver eye makeup by Theresa Scheffl
that created a striking contrast against the model’s brown eyes. The look came together with vibrant blue shoes and a bridal bouquet unlike any other, delicate flowers attached to silver chains. What stood out most was the balance between timeless bridal elements and the unexpected accents woven throughout: the softness of the white top, the reflective silver textures, and small but powerful touches of blue that tied the whole concept together.
A Landscape Set in Mirror and Bloom
Set in a concrete and gravel pit in Austria during an intense summer day, with temperatures reaching 35°C, the shoot transformed an industrial environment into a surreal wedding setting. The goal was to challenge traditional ideas of where a wedding can take place and build an atmosphere that felt almost otherworldly. Sandra Wimmer, who handled organization and design, started with a striking color combination: an intense, expressive blue paired with modern silver and reflective mirror elements. The blue became the defining visual thread, set against metallic textures, clean shapes, and the raw landscape surrounding it all.
For the floral design, larkspur, calla lilies, and anthuriums were chosen for shapes that complemented the modern aesthetic, with some flowers sprayed silver to connect directly with the metallic elements throughout. Instead of traditional arrangements, Ulrike Siegl-Kospach placed the flowers in flat mirror trays filled with sand, creating the illusion that they were growing straight out of the desert landscape toward the blue sky above, tying both environments together inevitably.
Silver table linens, bold blue chairs, and mirrored elements built out the futuristic atmosphere, and the stationery, by Von Schönstein, carried that same visual language straight through. Place settings used mirror surfaces, and the menus took on a unique cone shape with embossed details on silver cardstock, finished on the outside in blue and personalized with each guest’s name. The rest of the suite continued in mirror cardstock, embossing, and subtle blue accents, tying the paper details, styling, and environment into one cohesive story.
A Shared Vision
For the team, the most exciting part of a wedding is never following a predefined formula, it’s discovering new possibilities through collaboration. Bringing together planning, floral design, photography, content creation, and stationery creates concepts where every discipline shapes the next, each decision feeding into the one after it.
This shoot reflects exactly that approach: a shared vision brought to life through a handful of different creative perspectives working in tandem.
