Ten years in, Carolina and Maarten still had things to say — out loud, in a place worthy of it, with all four of their children beside them. They chose Neuendorf House in Mallorca for two days of celebration built around a single idea: Siempre Amor. From the bride’s sculptural headpiece to the cross-shaped dinner tables set against terracotta walls, every detail reflected a couple with an exceptional eye and the charisma to carry it through. The photography and film were by their own studio, LUX Visual Storytellers, the team they built together.

Carolina and Maarten are the founders of LUX Visual Storytellers, an award-winning studio for destination wedding photography and film. For years, they’ve lived inside the most intimate moments of other people’s love stories, building a visual language from the inside out. After a decade of marriage, four children, and more weddings than they could count, they wanted to say it again — deliberately, with the people who’d been there from the beginning. “We wanted it deeper, more intentional,” Carolina says. “Surrounded by our children, a handful of our closest team members, and the family and friends who’ve walked every step with us.” A quiet, two-day gathering on Mallorca.
Concept & Inspiration
Black and mirror. Minimalism with a quiet edge of drama. Those were the visual anchors from the start. Finding a venue to match took months — the space had to be striking, peaceful enough for an inner circle, and open enough for four energetic kids to move freely. Then they found Neuendorf House. “The effortless monumental minimalism delivered the calm we were craving,” Carolina says, “while the open, sun-drenched spaces gave us room to dream big.” Ancient olive and almond trees surrounded the property; the soaring terracotta walls and vast sky made every corner feel cinematic and still.
MAEV Weddings translated that vision into something cohesive. The team balanced understated ceremony details with layered textures and vibrant accents for the desert night. Every element was considered but never overworked.
Music was personal from the start — Maarten is a musician, and the playlists the couple curated were chosen to move the weekend from one mood to the next.
Day One
Bridal Fashion & Morning
For the ceremony, Carolina wore the Lirio dress by Cortana — found at the beloved Mallorca boutique Wild at Heart Bridal. Bias-cut Italian silk georgette, it moved with every step. “Minimalist and so comfortable,” she says, “non-negotiable after four kids.”
She finished the look with Jimmy Choo silver pumps, a pearl nautilus shell clutch, and a silver-and-pearl headpiece with drop earrings. Hair and makeup were done by Yuliya Muah.
Groom's Getting Ready
Maarten wore a bespoke black suit by Belgian atelier Café Costume, paired with shoes by Chris Vos Original. The children were dressed to complement the day: the girls in gowns from Lissikids, the boys in Zara.
Ceremony
The ceremony took place at the entrance of Neuendorf House, open to the Mallorcan sky. A mirrored runway runner printed with “Siempre Amor” marked the path, flanked by raw sandstone blocks topped with white orchids. At the narrow doorway, mirror columns dressed in orchids and trailing amaranthus framed a simple podium, with the family seated directly in front.
Each of the four children walked in with a parent. Maarten led the two girls to “Opéra Sirocco,” the soundtrack from their favorite film. Carolina walked with the two boys to Max Richter’s “Sarajevo.”
The children stayed beside their parents for the entirety of the ceremony. Little Gia wandered off mid-vow to hand out hugs. Dantes teared up during the words and folded into a cuddle. Malena beamed as she passed her mother the ring.
"Raw, tender, real, and full with emotions and laughter!"
The Couple
Larissa of Merveil led the ceremony, weaving in stories and anecdotes she’d gathered from friends and family. She made it feel like the whole story, not only the vows. Members of the LUX team rotated across the two days so each could experience the celebration as a guest — present in the moments, not only behind a lens.
Cocktail Hour
After the ceremony, guests moved under the ancient olive trees for cocktails. Long draped tables held vintage silver trays at varying heights: artisanal cheeses, cured hams, ripe figs, cherries, and clusters of dark red grapes. The spread was by Organichefs, whose approach to local, biological ingredients ran through the entire menu — back-to-basics cooking elevated through care for flavor and texture.
Decor & Design
In the central courtyard, the dinner tables were set in a dramatic cross formation — a quiet symbol of connection, and a continuation of the mirrored geometry running through the day. Warm linen draped the tables, layered with mirror runners, black lava stones, white orchids, and tall black candles. Crystal glassware caught the flicker of black votives; spherical gold-toned chandeliers anchored the center of the space.
As evening settled, projections of shimmering water moved across the high terracotta walls, casting a calm glow over dinner. Menus arrived on black silk with silver calligraphy; place cards were handwritten by Assia Luckerath on natural capiz shells. Graphic design throughout the weekend was by Scarabar; lighting and sound by Panela!.
Reception
Dinner moved through a menu built on local, seasonal produce — honest in the best sense, with the same spirit as the cocktail hour that preceded it. As plates were cleared, “Yumeiji’s Theme” from In the Mood for Love drifted through the courtyard. At each place setting, a handwritten thank-you letter from Carolina and Maarten waited for every guest. “Watching people read them, tears in their eyes, was one of the night’s softest, most unforgettable moments,” Carolina says.
Later, the music shifted and the dancing began. Carolina had changed into a fringed ivory party dress, all movement and energy as the evening opened up. Birds of Paradise closed the night with a set that matched the intimacy of the space — warm, easy, and exactly right.
Day TWO
Brunch
Where Day One ran on black and mirror, Day Two arrived in white and red. Brunch was conceived by Otro Cantar and Silke, with Monsieur Lapin’s playful sketches covering the white linen tablecloths in red ink: wine glasses, utensils, and the words “Siempre Amor” scattered across the surface in loose, joyful lines. At the center of each table, woven lanterns spilled over with heirloom tomatoes, dark grapes, and strands of red currants. A single tomato marked each place.
The menu was built around the children’s favorites: Malena’s tomato obsession got its due, and the boys and Gia had their fill of red fruit. The afternoon that followed had no agenda — pool, the clay tennis court, long hours in the Mallorcan light.
Carolina wore a black mini halter dress by Meshki with earrings by Ab Ellie; Maarten was in a bespoke ivory suit from Café Costume, a clean shift from the night before.
Baptism Ceremony
As the afternoon cooled, guests gathered poolside for the baptism of Carolina and Maarten’s four children. Larissa of Merveil returned to lead the ceremony, which unfolded in runway formation with the family at its center.
Parents and godparents took turns sharing readings; each child signed their baptism certificate. Then they stepped into the pool, and the guests raised red water pistols. Laughter filled the courtyard.
The day ended the way Carolina and Maarten had always pictured it: pizza on the rooftop as the sun dropped over the Mallorcan hills.
"Intimate, cinematic, warm, and profoundly peaceful. Exactly the celebration we'd dreamed of — love, family, and connection in their truest form."
