Jessica and Brett have a truly modern love story, as they met online during Brett’s busy time as a medical resident. They clicked immediately, spending as much time together as Brett’s schedule allowed. Several months later, Brett confidently declared to his dad and step-mom that he had found the woman he would marry.
About a year after they first matched online, Brett proposed to Jessica on Christmas Day, making the holiday memorable. They quickly started planning their wedding, choosing a destination event to make it more intimate and unique.
The couple swiftly delved into wedding planning. Wanting to make the most of this big moment, Jessica and Brett decided to turn their wedding into more than just a day-long celebration. They planned a week-long gathering including welcome party and catamaran adventure in the ocean, making it a chance for all their loved ones to enjoy a vacation together.
Jacie Marguerite, the couple’s photographer, captured the essence of their day, making each moment unforgettable.
The bride had a clear vision – she aimed for an old-world feel. Initially considering venues in Italy, she discovered Flora Farms, a serene farm near San Jose del Cabo, and instantly fell for its centerpiece mission-style barn.
This venue became the main inspiration for her color palette. She envisioned vibrant, bright flowers from the surrounding farms and fresh fruits from nearby vegetable gardens. The farm’s natural beauty and peaceful setting made it an idyllic backdrop for their vivid summer wedding.
On her wedding day, Emma looked stunning in her Galia Lahav dress, embodying elegance and grace. Complementing her exquisite gown were romantic Bella Belle Shoes, her mother’s diamond bracelet as her borrowed piece, and a special pinky ring from Brett, her something blue.
Brett, the groom, chose the blue suit paired with a white shirt. The suit’s hue echoed the color of the ocean and exuded a harmonious blend of modern elegance and classic charm. His look was completed with polished brown leather shoes and a matching watch, adding a touch of sleek elegance.
Their first look was the most memorable and intimate moment of the day. Emma’s surprised Brett: “I wanted to honor Brett’s mom on our wedding day. She passed when Brett was 12 years old from breast cancer. With his sister’s help, I got an excerpt from her journal, where she wrote, “Please remember how much I love you. – Mom”. I found someone who hand-stitched the writing onto a patch, where his sister then took pieces of lace from the mom’s wedding dress and stitched them on the patch. I could then give that to Brett at our first look – where it had an adhesive to place on the inside of his jacket so he could have a piece of his mom on his wedding day. Whenever I think back to it, it is a moment that I can’t help but cry. I never met Brett’s mom, but I do know the son she raised and how tender his heart is. It is a moment that Brett and I will never forget.”
Set under the warm Mexican sun, the wedding ceremony was a beautiful blend of emotion and tradition. Brett, accompanied by his father and step-mom, walked down the aisle, and then, Emma, glowing with happiness, was led by her father towards the arch as a violin and cello music accompanied their walk. The bright pink and fuchsia flowers adorning the arch added a vibrant splash of color to this moment, enhancing the ceremony’s beauty and charm.
Following the ceremony, the cocktail hour was a lively and joyous part of the celebration. Guests mingled, enjoying the beautiful surroundings of Flora Farms.
Emma and Brett took a moment to themselves during the celebration, walking through the sunflower gardens. This private time allowed them to reflect on their journey together and the new chapter they were beginning. Surrounded by nature, they shared thoughts, dreams, and quiet laughter. Meanwhile, their photographer, Jacie Marguerite, worked magic, capturing this beautiful day’s essence. Her lens painted a canvas of colors and tenderness, keeping the day’s special moments.
The reception was a burst of colors and joy. Set in front of the farm’s brick barn, the tables were decorated with Pina’s vivid flowers and fruits, echoing the lively spirit of Mexico. It was the bride’s ideas, the farm inspired her, their gardens and mission – she wanted to honor the property and everything it stood for.
Maracas and cigars as gifts for guests brought a unique and personal touch to the event. ‘The vendor Bells & Whistles did custom maracas for each of my guests that I was able to have at each place setting as their “name tag”. It was such a fun addition bringing in some local culture.” – Jessica says.
As the evening set in, fairy lights cast a cozy glow over the venue, creating a magical atmosphere for the first dance. The candles on the tables were a truly art pieces warming the night. The vendor helped Jessica achieve the exact “vintage blue” color that she had in mind: “They sent me over four samples of blue’s until we landed on the right one!” – she shared.
The celebration concluded with the Kilometro Band playing into the night, a fitting end to a day filled with love and laughter. The energy and joy of the dance floor were unstoppable, as guests celebrated Emma and Brett’s union.

And the way she portrayed the gentle sunlight added a romantic touch to the couple’s personal photos.
