China and Hong Kong are beginning to draw attention as serious players on the global wedding map. For a long time, the region remained relatively closed to international couples, but today it is opening up through the work of a new generation of wedding planners. These creatives know how to work with scale, detail, and context, turning dramatic landscapes, urban settings, and cultural references into thoughtful celebrations. The local vendor scene continues to grow fast, setting a high bar for production and aesthetics. To highlight this shift, we gathered five wedding planners in China and Hong Kong whose work shows just how compelling and visually strong weddings in this region can be.

Her background allows her to move naturally between cultures, languages, and locations while working closely with both local teams and international couples. Chic & Co has planned weddings worldwide, including projects in Bhutan and at Angkor Wat. The team approaches every destination as a blank canvas, guided by the couple’s vision and the character of the place.

Sugar Ting stands out in China’s wedding scene for her instinctive, design-led approach and strong visual language. With a background in design and an active presence on Chinese social platforms, she has built a large following drawn to her thoughtful, nature-driven work. Sugar was among the first planners to bring outdoor weddings into unexpected settings, working with deserts, lakes, glaciers, and remote islands as integral parts of the concept. Her Chinese-inspired weddings blend traditional references with Western styling inside historic gardens and heritage locations. Clients often refer to her as Dream Weaver Sugar, drawn to the layered, almost cinematic quality of her celebrations.
