In 2019, Savannah and Christian met for the first time in Prague. Nearly six years later, they returned to the city not as visitors, but as bride and groom. What unfolded was a wedding that combined the grandeur of a Gothic church with the intimacy of personal traditions: a black-and-white celebration lit by hundreds of candles, with Basque songs filling the night and a choreographed first dance that set the tone for an unforgettable evening.
Bringing their vision to life was Andrea of Exclusive Weddings in Prague, who seamlessly translated the couple’s dreams into a wedding that was equal parts classic, chic, and personal. “Every detail was handled with such care, creativity, and precision,” shared Savannah and Christian. “She truly made the day even better than we imagined.”

The proposal came as a complete surprise. On July 21, 2023, in Cary, North Carolina, Christian asked Savannah to marry him in front of her family and her beloved godfather. “I kept repeating ‘What are you doing?!’ in shock, before I finally said ‘Yes!’,” Savannah recalls with a laugh.
When it came to choosing a wedding destination, there was no hesitation. “Prague was the only place that made sense,” the couple said. They wanted their guests to fall in love with the city just as they once had, and they did.
Bride's Morning & Fashion
Surrounded by her bridesmaids in matching silk pajamas, Savannah’s morning carried an effortless sense of intimacy and joy. There was no rush, just the quiet anticipation of the day ahead and the warmth of shared moments.
Savannah’s bridal look reflected everything she envisioned for herself: chic, elegant, and timeless. She wore an Ines Di Santo gown from The Bridal Finery, customized with soft draped sleeves that made the silhouette entirely her own. A ten-foot mantilla lace veil trailed behind her, adding a dramatic yet classic touch, while a pearl choker necklace gave her look a sense of bold refinement. Her shoes by Betsey Johnson and a spritz of Chanel Chance completed the ensemble with understated femininity.
The bouquet, crafted by INSPIRITO flowers, held seasonal blooms and small charms in honor of Savannah’s late father. Makeup artist Alina Vagner created a polished yet radiant look, perfectly aligning with Savannah’s vision. Captured by Photo by Blanchett, every detail of this morning became part of the story that set the tone for the rest of the celebration.
Groom's Fashion
Christian chose an off-white dinner jacket tailored for a refined, modern look. His boutonniere added a fresh accent, and his cufflinks, once belonging to his grandfather, gave the outfit a deeply personal touch.
The jacket was paired with black trousers, a bow tie, and polished shoes, creating a clean silhouette. His look balanced elegance and individuality, complementing Savannah’s timeless bridal style. Especially striking was the contrast with his groomsmen, all dressed in black tuxedos.
Ceremony
Savannah and Christian exchanged vows at St. Thomas Church, a 14th-century Gothic landmark in the heart of Prague. The couple wanted the natural grandeur of the space to speak for itself. The frescoed ceilings, gilded altars, and sculptural details created an atmosphere so rich that only a handful of flowers and candles were needed to complete it.
Savannah and Christian chose a traditional ceremony, blending timeless beauty with personal meaning. When they exited the church, they walked under a Basque-inspired flower arch, a tribute to Christian’s heritage that became one of the most moving symbols of the day.
Cocktail Hour & Moments Together
After the ceremony, the lovebirds stepped into a different rhythm of the day. Leaving the grandeur of St. Thomas Church behind, they wandered through Prague’s gardens and historic streets, capturing portraits that blended timeless architecture with their modern elegance.
Captured in soft natural light, the images highlight contrasts: the elegance of Savannah’s mantilla veil against the geometry of baroque statues, the intimacy of close-up frames paired with wide garden vistas.
The couple posed against fountains, archways, and cobblestone alleys, with a vintage car waiting just outside to carry them further into the city. Among the most memorable moments was their stop at a small local bistro, where they toasted with Czech beer.
Reception & Decor
The raw texture of the historic walls contrasted beautifully with the reception refined styling by Exclusive Weddings in Prague. The design was anchored in a black-and-white palette, softened by seasonal florals.
Long banquet tables were dressed in black linen, accented with white plates and satin ribbons carrying each guest’s name. Tall glass candelabras by Drastiche Event Design rose dramatically over the tables, their flickering light mirrored in rows of crystal glassware. The custom dinner menu balanced modern layout with classical typography.

The evening’s centerpiece moments began on the bold black-and-white checkered dance floor. Savannah and Christian opened the night with a choreographed first dance to “Baby I’m Yours” by Arctic Monkeys. Under the glow of stage lights and surrounded by florals, their movements blended elegance with playfulness, setting the tone for the celebration that followed. Guests watched as tradition met personality, applauding the couple’s rhythm and chemistry.
Later, attention turned to a two-tiered cake by Pavlína Loučková. Layers of strawberries, Baileys, and chocolate were hidden beneath a minimalist white design, tied with a single black ribbon. Just like the rest of the wedding, it was a balance of timeless form and unexpected detail. The couple cut into it together, and it was a sweet prelude to the night’s dancing and Basque traditions that would soon take over the floor.
The evening unfolded with toasts from bride’s sister and maid of honor Sophia, her brother Reny, and groom’s best man José. These heartfelt moments were beautifully preserved on film by Primetime Video: the pauses, the reactions, and the warmth that defined this part of the evening.
Entertainment wove seamlessly into the evening. Violinists reimagined modern songs in a Bridgerton-inspired style, filling the church with a classical sound. Then came one of the most unforgettable highlights: live Basque singing during dinner, honoring Christian’s heritage with an atmosphere both intimate and powerful. Later, traditional Basque dances drew everyone onto the floor, forming circles of rhythm and joy that blurred the line between performers and guests.
As the night deepened, the energy only grew. DJ Jan Meruna transformed the centuries-old church into a modern celebration. Guests sang, cheered, and danced shoulder to shoulder, candles flickering along the vaulted walls as if echoing the beat.
It was the most perfect night of our lives. We feel incredibly lucky to have come back and gotten married where it all began, surrounded by the people we love most. Every moment felt meaningful, joyful, and full of love. We couldn’t have been more thrilled with how the evening unfolded, if we could, we’d relive it again and again.
