Christina and Albion envisioned a wedding that would stand the test of time, a celebration they could look back on years from now and still feel every bit as in love with. Their dream was to create a day that felt both intimate and grand, centered around the warmth of their closest family and friends. From a romantic garden ceremony to a candlelit reception filled with cultural touches and breathtaking decor, their wedding was a true reflection of their love story, sophisticated, joyful, and utterly unforgettable.

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Style: Timeless, elegant, classic
Time of planning: 9 months
Number of guests: 130
Setting: Ceremony – private estate, reception – ballroom
Season: Summer

Christina and Albion’s story began during their very first year at university. From the moment they met, there was an undeniable connection. Fast forward almost 10 years later, the couple embarked on their first trip together to Italy. While in Florence, they visited the iconic Piazzale Michelangelo, a place renowned for its breathtaking views of the city. As the sun dipped below the horizon, Albion led Christina to a quiet, hidden corner of the piazzale. With the city lights beginning to twinkle beneath them, he got down on one knee and asked her to spend forever by his side.

Bride's Look

Christina wore a custom fit-and-flare gown by the Australian designer Sophia Tolli. True to her vision, the bride had the dress made strapless and transformed the neckline into a flattering sweetheart cut. She added delicate, detachable lace sleeves, an element she had always dreamed of having in her wedding dress. The gown flowed into a glamorous 100-inch train, creating a breathtaking silhouette with every step she took. The veil, light and ethereal, trailed behind her, adding a dreamlike feel to each moment. For the shoes, Christina opted for crystal-embellished Badgley Mischka heels

Makeup by Dea achieved a flawlessly radiant look, featuring the perfect balance of bronzer and blush for a sun-kissed glow. The Hair by Marina Lima styled Christina’s hair in romantic half-up, half-down waves with soft curls cascading over her shoulders. A classic bouquet of white ranunculus and baby’s-breath by Babylon Décor & Floral was a graceful and minimal arrangement that tied together the look.

Groom's Fashion

Albion wore a sleek black tuxedo by Horst, tailored for a sharp and refined silhouette. A classic black bow tie and pocket square added a touch of old-world charm. His boutonniere, a single white rose accented with baby’s-breath, subtly mirrored Christina’s bouquet and tied his look into the floral theme of the day.

Ceremony

For their wedding ceremony, Christina and Albion’s chose Parkwood Estate. The enchanting resemblance to European gardens caught the couple’s eyes instantly. With its manicured grounds, elegant stone architecture, and a stunning central fountain, the estate offered a perfect setting.

Guests were greeted by a sleek welcome sign featuring elegant font. Just beneath it was a neatly arranged basket with white parasols, both practical and stylish, offering shade to guests under the afternoon sun. Rows of white chairs formed a simple yet graceful seating arrangement, allowing the natural beauty of the surroundings to shine.

Rather than a typical aisle entrance, Christina made a dramatic solo appearance at the top of the grand estate stairs, emerging to the beautiful orchestral version of ‘Young and Beautiful’ by Lana Del Rey. She then joined her parents, and together they walked towards their guests. Albion stood waiting at the base of the stairs, his eyes fixed on his bride full of admiration.

The unconventional bridal entrance captivated everyone present. Guests were especially moved by the perfectly timed first kiss, which aligned with the beat drop of ‘Love Me Like You Do’ by Ellie Goulding, an unforgettable moment that felt straight out of a movie. With the backdrop of the estate’s lush gardens and picturesque views, it was a ceremony that celebrated their love and shared sense of style. Our ceremony felt like it was out of a fairytale,” Christina recalls.

Private Moment

The couple stole away for a few quiet moments, wandering hand in hand through the sunlit garden pathways of the estate. A gentle breeze danced through the air, catching the bride’s delicate veil. Surrounded by the beauty of the venue and wrapped in the joy of the moment, they took in their first steps as husband and wife.

Shotlife Studio was by the couple’s side throughout the entire day, capturing the true essence of their love story. With a stunning mix of both color and black-and-white images, the photographers documented the elegance and luxury of the celebration, while also reflecting its heartfelt and joyful spirit. Every frame showcased not just the visual beauty of the day, but the emotion and energy that made it unforgettable. “They went above and beyond our expectations and delivered amazing photos that we will cherish forever,” Christina admits.

"I especially loved how they chose to keep their day intimate, carving out quiet moments just for the two of them. I was there to document it, of course, but it truly felt like they were in their own world — away from the noise and energy of the day, simply soaking in their connection."

Reception

Christina and Albion chose The Crystal Fountain Event Venue for their reception. With soaring ceilings, grand crystal chandeliers, and a soft, neutral color palette, the venue offered the luxurious yet classic atmosphere they envisioned. Inside the reception hall, round guest tables were adorned with white floral arrangements, baby’s-breath, and soft candlelight, while the long family tables overflowed with florals and a mix of tall and low candles for a romantic ambiance. The head table, seated atop a raised stage, was the breathtaking centerpiece.

Every detail was thoughtfully chosen to reflect the elegance and authenticity of their love story. Despite the scale and beauty of the event, the planning process felt surprisingly effortless, guided by their shared desire to keep things meaningful, and true to who they are. “We had a private room reveal of our reception before the guests entered and it truly was a special moment to see how after all our planning everything came together so perfectly and seeing our dream turn into a reality,” the bride recalls.

The reception began with a romantic first dance that captivated everyone in the room. All eyes were on Christina and Albion as they moved together. Beneath the sparkling crystal chandelier and surrounded by the warm glow of candlelight, the moment felt nothing short of cinematic, a perfect beginning to an unforgettable evening.

The wedding cake by Velvet Lane Cakes was an elegant, three-tier dessert decorated with intricate baroque-inspired piping. It was displayed on a clear table surrounded by candles, perfectly complementing the romantic and luxurious ambiance of the reception.

The celebration was brought to life with a vibrant mix of entertainment. A live singer, saxophonist, clarinetist, drummers, and a keyboard player from Mehmet Shemshedini & Band set the stage for traditional Albanian music, creating an electric atmosphere. Andi Dasi kept the energy high throughout the night, spinning the couple’s favorite modern hits and nostalgic throwbacks.

"Our Albanian and Italian backgrounds blended perfectly for the most epic party: live music, traditional and modern dancing, standing on the drums and chairs."

Advice from the couple:
