What do you think makes Allyssa Helm Beauty and Co. stand out from other beauty teams?
We like to think of ourselves as a one-stop shop for bridal beauty. We do both hair and makeup, which makes it easy for brides to have everything in one place. Our signature style is all about natural glam—think fresh, effortless beauty. We want each client to feel like their best self on their wedding day, and we work closely with each bride to create a look that truly represents them, whether it’s more natural or a bit glam.
What bridal styles or looks does the team love creating? What is it about these styles that feel so special to your team?
We absolutely love creating a glowing makeup look paired with polished yet effortless hair. There’s something so timeless about a soft, fresh complexion with a bit of a glow. It’s the perfect balance of looking put-together while still feeling natural. We think it’s so important for brides to feel like themselves but with a touch of bridal magic.
What current trends in bridal beauty are you most excited about?
We’re really loving the trend of brown eyeliner—it’s softer than black and still makes a statement. Fresh, glowing skin is always a favorite of ours, and we’re also seeing a lot of straight hair in a big blowout look coming back in a big way. It’s sleek and modern, and it pairs beautifully with that natural glam look.
What's the most unexpected but totally successful color combo your team has used in makeup? What inspired that choice?
We once used a deep burgundy lip with a soft, warm copper eyeshadow for a bride who wanted something a little bolder. It was unexpected for a bridal look, but it worked because it complemented her skin tone and personality. We always love it when a bride is willing to take a small risk with color, and it turns out even more gorgeous than we imagined.

Do you have any go-to tips for brides to keep their makeup fresh throughout the day?
We always recommend our return touch-up service, where we’ll come back to refresh makeup and hair throughout the day. But if a bride doesn’t opt for that, we suggest carrying a few key products with you: a good setting spray to lock everything in place, a blotting powder for shine, and of course, lipstick for touch-ups. Those three things are usually all you need to stay looking fresh! For hair products, a brush is needed if your hair is down and some extra Bobbi pins are necessary if it’s up!
With your 15 years of experience, what's the most important advice your team gives brides when they're choosing their wedding look?
Our biggest piece of advice is to pick a look that feels like you. It’s your wedding day, and you want to feel comfortable and confident in your skin. While it’s fun to experiment with new looks, it’s important that you still feel like yourself. After all, you want to look back at your wedding photos and recognize yourself!

Can you share some of your favorite or memorable bridal looks you've created recently?
There was one bride who had an amazing beach wedding and wanted something soft and glowy to complement the natural surroundings. We gave her a light, dewy makeup look with a soft, beachy wave in her hair. She looked incredible against the backdrop of the ocean, and it was such a special experience for us to be part of that.

Working on destination weddings must bring some unique challenges! Could you share some difficulties the team has faced and how you tackled them together?
Packing for a destination wedding is always a bit of a puzzle! We have a lot of products in our kits, so narrowing them down for travel can be tough. We always make sure to gather inspiration photos from the bride so we can focus on the essentials. It’s all about planning ahead and being strategic with what we bring. We also check on any local weather conditions to ensure we’re prepared for anything.
Besides weddings, Allyssa Helm Beauty and Co. offers one-on-one lessons and group masterclasses. What inspired the team to expand into education?
We love being able to share the tips and tricks we’ve learned over the years. It’s so rewarding to teach our clients how to recreate their bridal looks for everyday beauty routines or how to master a technique they’ve always wanted to learn. Our team has a lot of knowledge to share, and it’s exciting to see others gain confidence in their own skills.
You've built a strong reputation as a talented team and have worked with some well-known clients. Which experience stands out to you the most?
There was one celebrity wedding we worked on that felt extra special. Not only was it a beautiful wedding, but the bride was so kind and easygoing—it made the entire experience unforgettable. What made it particularly memorable was seeing the joy on her face when she looked in the mirror after we finished her makeup and hair. It was such a fulfilling moment to see her feel so beautiful.
Has there been a particular moment in your journey as a team that felt especially meaningful? What made it so impactful for you?
One of the most meaningful moments for us as a team was when we started seeing repeat clients who trusted us with not only their weddings but also their engagement photos, anniversaries, and other big moments. It really felt like we had become part of their journey, and that level of trust and connection is something we cherish deeply.
