Eric and Liz are college sweethearts who met at the University of Hawaii when Liz’s childhood friend unexpectedly became Eric’s freshman roommate, and the rest is history! As they started to plan their wedding, they knew they wanted to honor their ten years of growth and the union of their families coming together in a special way. Their videographer, Diana Gas, skillfully captured their wedding day, creating a cinematic masterpiece showcasing heartfelt speeches, touching first looks, a heartwarming ceremony, and a joyful celebration.

The couple aimed to create a luxurious, yet organic atmosphere for their wedding. They wanted their guests to experience a unique, unforgettable event that still reflected their love and appreciation for each other and their loved ones. Seattle served as a destination wedding for their friends and family, providing the perfect opportunity to showcase the meaningful locations that had been a part of their lives during their seven years in the city. Over three days, they crafted a series of unforgettable moments: guests rode the famous ferries over Bainbridge Island for the welcome party, the ladies gathered for Liz’s bridal shower in their local neighborhood, and they wrapped it up with their wedding celebration at their favorite park in the city.

When Liz selected her wedding gown, her heart was set on a classically modern look. She was fortunate to discover Alex Perry‘s collection, which was love at first sight, when she found the Abigail dress.  Liz had an incredible beauty team led by one of her best friends, Maddie Nielsen. Maddie and Holly Tipp worked with Liz for each wedding event and helped plan each glam look.

Liz had two memorable first looks on her wedding day—the first with her dear family and the second with Eric. Eric was enamored with Liz’s stunning wedding look, and they shared a special moment together before the ceremony.

Liz wanted the wedding to reflect the venue’s aesthetics, creating an authentic and breathtaking atmosphere. Visual elements such as the venue, florals, and incredible lounge furniture played a key role in creating the ambiance. The planners chose a palette of neutral colors with standout accents, such as the wildflower ground arch during their ceremony.

Liz and Eric’s outdoor ceremony at Seattle Sculpture Park was genuinely magical. They were surrounded by their beloved family and friends, and the moment when the couple exchanged vows was incredibly heartfelt and moving.

The venue perfectly embodied Seattle’s beauty, with lush greenery, Puget Sound views, a modern glass building, and sculptural accents—a dream setting for Liz and Eric’s city-chic weddings celebration. Guests also adored the telephone guest book alternative, which allowed for funny audio messages in a relaxed lounge area, enhancing the evening’s charm.

The newlyweds opted for a floating dinner instead of the traditional sit-down, creating a dynamic space for mingling and chatting. Their menu included a mix of Seattle favorites, local Hawaiian specialties, and their favorite global dishes.

Eric and Liz were delighted to have their friends and family celebrating their love with them, and they were touched to receive so many heartfelt wishes.

The reception dinner ended with the newlyweds cutting the cake and preparing for the second part of the celebration. Their photographer, Mikayla Herrick, skillfully captured every detail of this wedding.

They also had some emotional performances later in the evening— Eric’s stepdad sang for their First Dance and the Mother-Son dance. The father-daughter dance was a unique spectacle, with a choreographed routine to the song “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.”

Liz chose to wear a tuxedo, as she had always wanted to incorporate a tux into her wedding attire. It turned out to be the perfect choice for her second look. Eric and Liz ordered their tuxedo shirts together and Liz added a custom satin band to the leg of her pants that matched Eric’s tux. The Gucci crystal kitten heels completed the ensemble.

The couple mentioned bringing DJ-Live in from LA was one of their top decisions. They set the mood right from the beginning and maintained it all evening. They were looking for more than just a regular DJ but wanted to avoid anything too cliché; combining the DJ performance with live instruments on top was the ideal combination to keep the celebration alive all night.

Advice from couple:

• The first tip is to find vendors you love and trust them to bring your vision to life. If it’s the right fit, the collaboration will feel effortless.

• Enjoy the moment, appreciate the loved ones who make an effort to celebrate your love, and be unapologetically present in the joy surrounding you. After all, these moments are a celebration, not just of love, but also of the bonds that tie us together. So, let the celebration begin, and don’t shy away from it — the moment will pass sooner than you know it!
