When planning a wedding or editorial shoot, you typically don’t expect rain to be in the forecast. However, the amazing team of photographer Le Secret d’Audrey, videographer Stephanie Bola, and florists from The Garden Of Love, curated and inspired by Rhiann from Lucy Till French Weddings, embraced the rain and showed that striking photos can still be captured.
A rainy wedding shoot at Villa Balbiano on Lake Como can be an incredibly romantic and enchanting experience. Despite the weather, the rain can add a touch of magic and intimacy to your photographs. Just remember, if the storm changes your plans, it forces you to refocus on what’s essential: the serene feeling of getting married close to the water.
As raindrops gently hit the ground, the air is filled with anticipation and excitement. The lush gardens of Villa Balbiano transform into a glistening oasis with rain-kissed flowers and vibrant greenery. The fragrance of wet earth fills the air, creating a soothing atmosphere.

Villa Balbiano, located on the western shore of Lake Como, is an awe-inspiring Italian jewel, an exceptional historical palazzo. Its historic interiors have been filled with the finest objets d’art and furniture from past centuries, sourced from Sotheby’s and Christie’s. Spectacular 17th-century frescoes painted by the Recchi brothers and Agostino Silva still decorate the walls, untouched by time.
One of the villa’s rooms was adorned with ornate floral arrangements, including luxurious lush peonies, delicate bouquet roses, gypsophila, meadow flowers, and dried flowers, matching the arch design.
Walking through the villa’s opulent interiors, they see how the rain paints delicate streaks on the expansive windows, casting a soft, diffused light that enhances the bride’s elegance and grace.
The creative team made strong looks with statement fashion pieces by talented couture designers such as Made Bride, Rami Kadi, Truly Enamoured, and Tony Ward Brides.
