This is a unique wedding story. It’s a wedding that the bride herself organized. It’s a wedding where she could bring all her dreams to life. It’s a wedding through which the lovely Sinja will find her purpose: becoming a wedding planner.
Sinja and Christoph met in college. Their initial encounter led to a strong friendship; they spent much time with friends, shared study notes, and talked about life. But fate is a funny thing, and unexpectedly, their friendship blossomed into love. They continued their relationship for a whole year despite the distance.
Finally, the long-awaited moment arrived when Christoph proposed in Vancouver in September 2021. The whirlwind of wedding planning swept up Sinja’s heart and mind. Her long-standing dream had come true because she realized at 16 that this was what she wanted to do.
Their relationship can be described as vibrant, crazy, and trusting. And this determined the nature of the wedding. It had to be an intimate wedding, only for the closest and dearest. An interesting detail from Sinja’s life is that she spent six months in Bali during her studies. This magnificent island introduced her to a wonderful family, and her friendship with them became integral to her life. Of course, she couldn’t imagine her wedding without them.
One of Sinja’s biggest dreams was a beach wedding ceremony. However, since they had a dog, they decided not to choose a distant location and opted for Sylt. They had visited this place often and felt at home there: endless sea, white sandy beaches, hills covered in tall grass. The perfect place for an ideal wedding. First and foremost, Sinja invited Katarina Fedora to be the photographer at her wedding, as she had been an admirer of her talent for a long time.
One day before the wedding, Christoph and Sinja had their official registration. Only close family and dear friends attended the ceremony, which made the day even more joyful. Sinja wore a lovely dress by Made With Love.
Then, the newlyweds and their guests headed to the beach, where the Get Together party was set to take place. There, they were treated to burger snacks, and as a memorable gift for the guests, Sinja and Christoph invited a talented artist Marta who painted portraits of them.
A touching and highly significant moment was the speeches delivered by Christoph and Sinja.
The next day the wedding arrived. The room exuded a soft, powdery, delicate boudoir ambiance as Sinja and her friends gathered this morning. The bride’s friend Anne Engbert helped with makeup and hair, so Sinja was radiant and beautiful.
Sinja always wanted multiple dresses for her wedding: one for the ceremony and one for the reception. She found the first dress Rosa Clara during a trip to Paris with her mom. The second one was the result of a collaborative effort with Annika Maria.
There’s nothing better than heartfelt conversations over morning coffee with your best friends. Sinja spent her morning as a bride, just as she had imagined. Everything was supposed to be comfortable, cozy, and as friendly as possible.
Christoph also spent the time before the wedding in a friendly atmosphere. His best friend helped him put on his wedding suit, and then they dedicated some time to bonding, which brought them joy.
And finally, the time for the beautiful ceremony had come. For Christoph and Sinja, a luxurious Mercedes convertible was prepared, elegantly adorned with floral arrangements. Retro buses were ready to transport the guests to the ceremony location.
Sinja inspired herself by the movie “27 Dresses” with Katherine Heigl. Being part of the wedding world and creating beauty was her dream job. Since childhood, Sinja collected various wedding items, and her Pinterest board was filled with collections of ideas that found their embodiment in her and Christoph’s wedding. They always wanted a gospel choir to sing at their wedding, a small family celebration, intimate and cozy, a beach ceremony, and many flowers. These were the essential elements of their marriage.
One of the main highlights was the Balinese wedding blessing ceremony conducted by a close friend who had traveled from Bali to be part of Christoph and Sinja’s wedding. It was an incredibly exotic, touching, and beautiful moment.
After the ceremony, the guests arrived at the wedding reception held at the Severin*s Resort & Spa Sylt.
The bride gathered her unmarried friends to toss her wedding bouquet.
And we witnessed the lucky person who caught the bride’s bouquet. It was a lovely moment.
The cake-cutting ceremony went splendidly! This exquisite wedding cake is adorned with delicate flowers and gold accents seamlessly blended with the wedding’s style.
The couple changed their attires for the dinner. The bride wore a stylish short dress from Annika Maria, a personalized gown they had designed over a year, a process that also gave birth to a beautiful friendship. The groom opted for a dark green suit with a bowtie, setting the tone for a party but elegant mood.
The flowers for the ceremony, car decorations, and the wedding bouquet were a vibrant blend of perfectly matched colors. Blue hydrangeas and delphiniums harmonized with lush white and peach peonies, all set off by delicate muted greenery with white accents. For the reception, the room’s monochromatic gray and white theme was complemented by white flower arrangements, and candlelit tables added a romantic touch to the ambiance.
Guests mingled outdoors and posed for photos at the flower photo zone.
And when it was time for dinner, laughter, conversations, and congratulations filled the air.
At the party, live music filled the air, and a friendly atmosphere prevailed, with every guest being drawn into the magical world of sound and happiness. And, of course, the party was a perfect end to this flawless wedding.
From Sinja: “At “Colors of Love”, we always say that the journey up to the wedding is at least as important as the day itself. The moments you create before the wedding will last a lifetime.”
I am grateful that I was able to implement the most beautiful inspirations, from a beautiful sea of flowers, gospel choir, a Balinese sister who blessed us, to a self-designed party outfit. What should I say. It was a perfect day for us with our loved ones.”
Advice from the couple:
• Before the wedding, please keep in mind again that this day has only 24 hours and that you consciously bring yourself into the moment in the morning to enjoy the beautiful things on that particular day. You will not be able to press the replay button.
• Everything that happens on this day happens as it should, and in the best case, you have professional wedding planners who take away the stress and take care of the unforeseen things.
• Hire a videographer. This will give you a personal wedding present which is more valuable than ever!
• A GetTogether the day before is an excellent way to reduce the stress of talking to everyone in detail (on the wedding day) as guests can get to know each other in a charming atmosphere.
