Timeless Romance at a Historic Château in Provence

Kseniia and Michael met through work in Kyiv, Ukraine, and it was love at first sight. Their connection was instant, and they quickly knew they never wanted to be apart. Michael’s proposal came as a complete surprise in Paris, a city Kseniia had always loved, on a rooftop overlooking the Eiffel Tower, with florals, live music, and their closest family present. In that moment, Kseniia knew it would be one of the most meaningful moments of their lives, and without hesitation, she said yes.

Location: Provence, France
Style: Modern, luxury provencal style
Time of planning: 2 months
Number of guests: 18
Setting: Château de Gigognan
Season: Fall

From the start, Kseniia and Michael envisioned a wedding that felt elevated yet deeply personal. Their concept combined Provençal ease with refined elegance, thoughtful details, and a strong sense of style. Hosting the celebration at Château de Gigognan felt like a natural choice. Known for its intimate atmosphere, the historic winery’s quiet beauty and expansive vineyards created an immersive setting that allowed the experience to feel both intentional and effortlessly memorable for the couple and their guests.

Inspiration & The Movie

The wedding took place in Gordes, in the heart of Provence, in the venue that felt perfectly aligned with the couple’s vision. Surrounded by vineyards and soft southern light, the setting allowed the celebration to breathe, with every detail chosen to support a natural, unhurried flow. Videographer Pierre Froger captured the day with a modern, cinematic approach, focusing on energy, emotion, and atmosphere with an intuitive, natural flow. His film goes beyond documentation, translating the rhythm, joy, and intimacy of the celebration into something you can feel long after the day itself.

"We are unbelievably happy with the result. It’s the kind of video you want to replay endlessly, just to stay in that feeling a little longer.”

Couple's Morning & Fashion

For her bridal look, Kseniia chose a bespoke gown created especially for her at an atelier, a design that felt delicate, elegant, and entirely her own. She wore it with Le Silla “Clivage” pumps for a touch of confidence, and completed the look with a Bulgari Serpenti necklace and custom one-carat diamond stud earrings, clean, refined details she loves. Her perfume of choice was Ex Nihilo Fleur Narcotique, a soft and romantic scent that stayed with her throughout the day.

She opted for classic bridal beauty with soft glam makeup and loose, wavy hair, keeping everything natural and timeless. Her bouquet was exactly as she had envisioned from the very beginning, a blend of calla lilies, orchids, and gentle green and white tones. When Michael asked how she was feeling during the celebration, her answer came instantly: “Like a princess in the castle.”

Michael chose a look that felt both timeless and deeply personal, wearing a tailored Isaia suit with a shirt and a Dolce & Gabbana bow tie, perfectly suited to the elegant Provençal setting. For Michael, feeling comfortable and fully present mattered most, and the outfit reflected exactly that. As he shared, he felt “like the best version of myself, elegant, emotional, and proud to stand next to the woman I love.”

First Look

The entire day felt magical for them, and it’s almost impossible to choose just one moment. There was an intimate atmosphere from the very beginning; their “first look” was deeply emotional, and having only their closest family by their side set the tone for the entire celebration. It truly felt as if the universe was on their side that day.

Ceremony

The ceremony was designed as a natural extension of the couple’s overall artistic vision, creating a dialogue between couture, floral sculpture, and the character of the venue itself. Together with the floral designer, two draped columns in tulle and muslin were created, imagined like couture dress forms, the kind a designer shapes a gown upon. Calla lilies were woven into the structures, their organic curves echoing the movement of fabric, alive, fluid, and imperfect in the most beautiful way.

The choice of location came naturally. Set within the private garden, the design honored the architecture, the light, and the surrounding perspective. The selected spot offered balanced views, ideal sun exposure, and, most importantly, the wisteria the bride loved. White wrought-iron chairs completed the scene, a modern and refined nod to Provence.

The ceremony felt soft, sculptural, and intentional, perfectly aligned with the couple’s vision and wonderfully captured by Anastasiya Kosheleva. Guests later shared that it felt incredibly intimate and relaxed, exactly the atmosphere the couple had hoped to create.

More Details

Kseniia, deeply connected to fashion and aesthetics, naturally guided the creative direction of the day. Her sensibility, taste, and the way she carried each element of her look inspired a design that felt both bold and delicate, modern yet timeless. White calla lilies were chosen for their sculptural, imperfect curves, echoing a sense of movement that felt expressive, fluid, and never static. The white-and-green palette felt fresh and refined, reflecting both the Provençal setting and Kseniia’s distinct sense of style.

For the dinner, Clémence, artistic director, extended this same vision of curves, movement, and sculptural form throughout the space, working in close collaboration with planner La Phocéenne. The round tables were arranged in an elegant S-shaped layout, a subtle reference to couture silhouettes, flowing drapery, and the organic lines of calla lilies. Everything was designed to feel alive, almost in motion, like fabric catching light as it moves.

Every element of the wedding felt deeply connected, unfolding like a thoughtfully composed story. The result was an immersive celebration that reflected Kseniia and Michael’s personalities, style, and vision, where every detail and every moment truly spoke of them.

Reception

The entire setting was built around balance, with strong design and a clear intention that never felt overwhelming. Dinner unfolded like a visual composition, where every detail reflected Kseniia and Michael’s style and the couture-inspired elegance of the celebration. Their cocktails were entirely bespoke, created with Gaëtan from Monsieur Cocktail, and thoughtfully tailored to reflect their personalities and tastes.

Every part of the day was carefully planned with the guests in mind. The layout of the ceremony and dinner was designed for a natural flow, encouraging guests to move through the celebration effortlessly and fully enjoy each moment. And the Champagne tower at sunset was pure magic, bathed in golden light and feeling almost unreal, like a scene lifted straight from a film.

The cake was conceived as an experience rather than just a dessert, both beautiful and interactive. Its simple yet sparkling design was created to shine in photos and video, inviting everyone to be part of the moment. Claire captured it all beautifully, preserving the joy, movement, and emotion that defined the celebration.

"The tears of joy, having our families beside us, standing there in Provence with overwhelming happiness…I kept thinking, "Is this really happening? Someone pinch me." It was the purest, most emotional moment of the entire day — the kind that stays with you forever."

Advice from the couple:

Listen to yourself, your heart, and your real wishes. Don’t try to please everyone.

Be open with your planner — they are on your side, and this is one of the most important days of your life. It should unfold exactly the way you imagine it. Also, choose vendors you genuinely connect with. It makes all the difference. We are endlessly happy with how everything turned out — the wedding itself, and the beautiful photos and videos that let us relive it all again.
