Almost eight years ago, Liisa and Henrik’s paths crossed in what felt quietly meant to be, two people meeting at exactly the right moment, even if they didn’t know it yet. What began as an instant connection slowly grew into something deeper, built on laughter, mutual respect, shared dreams, and the feeling that they were creating something truly special together.
Now, surrounded by the people they love most, they chose to celebrate that story with a fairytale wedding in Provence, a place that has long held a special meaning for them and one they return to year after year. Filled with beauty, joy, and deeply personal moments, the celebration felt like a natural reflection of a love that has only grown stronger with time.
Welcome Dinner
Their celebration began with a three-day wedding weekend in Provence, held during the first weekend of October and blessed with what felt like the very last touch of summer, warm sunshine, golden light, and just a hint of fall in the air. Planned over the course of a year, the weekend welcomed 100 guests and began with an intimate soirée in Lourmarin, followed by the ceremony and reception at Château de Sannes, before ending with a relaxed farewell brunch and pool party.
For the opening celebration, Liisa wore a sophisticated jumpsuit by Talbot Runhof, styled with a Chanel bag, Manolo Blahnik heels, Brand No.8 headpiece and jewelry by Estonian designer Karine Parras, while Henrik kept things sharp in a Lardini suit paired with Bottega Veneta shoes.
“What made the weekend truly special was the weather,” the couple shares. “Everyone was a little in shock.” With endless sunshine and perfect temperatures in early October, everything felt as though it was simply meant to be, turning the entire weekend into something even better than they had imagined.
Bride's Fashion
For the main wedding day, Liisa embraced timeless bridal elegance in a Vera Wang gown, wearing it with a delicate French veil by Pronovias, Christian Louboutin heels, and statement jewelry by Estonian designer Karine Parras, including her earrings and wedding rings. Later in the evening, as the celebration shifted into party mode, she changed into a second look, a fashion-forward dress and gloves by Marianna Senchina, finished with Magda Butrym heels, bringing a bold, modern edge to the night.

Ceremony
The ceremony took place on the steps of the French garden at Château de Sannes, where two towering cypress trees framed the staircase, creating an atmosphere both intimate and breathtaking. One of Henrik’s closest friends officiated, bringing a warmth and personal energy to the moment, while their two sons played a special part in the ceremony, adding touches that made it even more meaningful.
Henrik walked in first through the garden with their sons, a moment that, as Liisa shares, “left not a single dry eye.” Hidden on the other side of the garden with her father, she watched it all unfold, her heart racing as tears streamed down her face. Then it was her turn, walking hand in hand with her father toward the love of her life, with his blessing. “It was the moment I had dreamed of my entire life,” she shares, “a true every-girl’s dream come to life.”
Inspiration & Decor
The inspiration for the wedding came directly from Provence itself. The couple had always known they wanted to get married there, and the moment they stepped into the gardens of the venue, the decision felt instant. “We both just knew,” they share. One year later, that vision became reality in the very place that first felt so magical. The planning process felt effortless thanks to the support of Stéphanie at Château de Sannes and the talented team at Cigales Et Petits Fours, while every moment was beautifully documented by Ayata Weddings, capturing both the beauty of Provence and the emotion of the celebration with a natural, timeless style.
The pool garden at Château set the tone for a sun-soaked celebration, beautifully styled with exquisite floral designs by Flower & Twig. Guests were welcomed with glasses of Louis Roederer champagne as the reception came to life, accompanied by music from the incredible duo Heyjee, creating an atmosphere that felt vibrant, effortless, and unmistakably Provençal.
Reception
The couple shared their first dance to their all-time favorite song, Alicia Keys’s “If I Ain’t Got You,” a deeply personal moment that set the tone for the evening ahead. Guests then gathered for a beautifully curated three-course dinner, accompanied by exceptional French wines and heartfelt speeches from their closest friends and family, with some of the most touching words coming from Henrik’s father, Olaf. Glasses were raised, stories were shared, and the celebration carried beautifully into the night.
On a sweet note, an oversized mille-feuille stole the spotlight before the energy shifted once again, and the moment The Beauties took the stage, the dance floor filled instantly and stayed alive from the very first beat.
Brunch & Pool Party
For the final day, Liisa wore a fashion-forward brunch-and-poolside look by Brand No.8, featuring a crepe corset, lace pants, a matching hat, and a choker, styled with Hermès Oasis sandals, a Chanel vanity bag, and Prada sunglasses. Henrik complemented her in an ETRO day shirt, Lardini linen trousers, and Gianvito Rossi espadrilles, striking the perfect balance between tailored and relaxed.
The third day felt calm, picturesque, and beautifully unhurried, with guests gathering by the pool, enjoying the sunshine, music, long conversations, and one last chance to soak in the magic of the weekend together.
“Marrying the love of your life in front of all the people you care about most is something impossible to fully put into words,” Liisa shares. “I’m also so happy we chose a year when both of our little boys could be there with us, making it even more meaningful.” Filled with love, emotion, and unforgettable moments, it became a weekend the couple knows they will carry with them for the rest of their lives.
