Sun-Kissed Celebration Among Crete’s Olive Trees

Featured Members:

In the heart of Crete’s lush olive groves and vineyards, Paige and Spiros celebrated their love with a wedding that perfectly blended romance and whimsy. Every detail reflected their dream, from the light pastel hues complementing the pink chapel to twinkle lights and playful disco balls strung in the trees. Captured perfectly by Cassidy O Photos, this chic multi-day wedding was a magical escape for their closest friends and family.

Location: Rethymno, Crete, Greece
Style: Romantic, Whimsical, Elegant
Time of planning: 20 months
Number of guests: 75
Setting: Vineyard
Season: Summer

Paige, an interior designer from Los Angeles, made a life-changing move across the country on a whim. It was a bold decision, but one that brought her to Spiros, a finance director, just a week after settling on the West Coast. Their connection was instant, and they quickly became inseparable. Spiros proposed to Paige on her 29th birthday, planning the perfect day in Malibu that ended with a surprise celebration with family and friends who had flown in from all over the country.

When planning their wedding, the couple’s Greek roots and love for timeless romance led them to Agreco Farm in Rethymno, Crete. The venue, with its charming pink chapel and breathtaking vineyard views, was a unanimous choice.

Welcome Dinner

The weekend festivities began with a sunset welcome dinner at Cavo, a seaside restaurant with breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea. Guests were welcomed into a chic, breezy atmosphere, where Paige and Spiros mingled effortlessly with their loved ones.

Paige wore a flowing white halter dress, while Spiros opted for a light blue linen shirt paired with tailored trousers. As the sun dipped below the horizon, laughter and heartfelt conversations filled the air, setting the tone for the celebrations ahead. The guests looked equally stunning in their elegant attire and enjoyed the breathtaking sunset, made even more magical by the perfect summer weather.

Bridal Morning

Paige’s morning was as dreamy as her wedding day. She slipped into a classic Pronovias mermaid gown with intricate lace details, paired with Badgley Mischka shoes and a bouquet of pastel blooms by Manfler Florist. Her Chanel No. 5 fragrance added a timeless, classic touch. Makeup by Evy created a glowing, neutral bridal look, while Femm Michel styled her hair into soft, romantic waves that perfectly matched the dreamy atmosphere of the day.

Paige’s veil, adorned with floral appliques, completed her ethereal ensemble. Her bridesmaids complemented her vision perfectly, wearing mismatched floral dresses in soft pastel tones that brought a playful and romantic vibe to the day.

Spiros kept it sophisticated and comfortable with a light linen suit from Suit Supply paired with Allen Edmonds shoes and a boutonniere by Manfler Florist. The blue tie he chose brought a subtle nod to the surrounding Mediterranean.

First Look

Before the ceremony, Paige and Spiros shared an emotional first look. In a secluded corner of the farm, surrounded by vibrant bougainvillea, they exchanged private words and took a moment to soak in the day. Spiros’ reaction—a mix of tears and joy—was a highlight for everyone present.

Paige and Spiros decided to elope in a small civil ceremony before their wedding day, and it turned out to be the best decision. It took the pressure off, letting them relax and focus on the joy of celebrating with their loved ones. They got to have the intimacy of a private vow exchange, followed by the excitement of sharing their love story with family and friends. It was the perfect balance that made their wedding day feel even more special.

Ceremony

The ceremony unfolded in front of the charming pink chapel in the heart of Agreco Farm’s stone courtyard. Surrounded by towering olive trees and bursts of vibrant floral arrangements, the setting was straight out of a fairy tale. Soft white roses and delicate peach blooms spilled gracefully from rustic vases while lush greenery tied everything together with natural elegance.

The couple fully embraced the local culture by incorporating a special guest, Ms. Melina the donkey, who greeted attendees at the entrance, wearing a handmade floral necklace. “Although the bride chose not to ride down the aisle on her back, the donkey’s presence brought a unique and joyful touch,” shared the photographer.

A brief welcome meditation created a serene atmosphere, and Paige and Spiros stood side by side, ensuring perfect views for both their guests and the photographs. The heartfelt blend of Greek and English traditions resonated deeply with everyone present.

"Friends and family exclaim it was the best wedding and greatest vacation!"

Cocktail Hour

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed a cocktail hour with live music by the string duo Soul N Passion. The atmosphere under the olive trees was relaxed and inviting, with tables adorned with bowls of fresh fruits and artful arrangements of appetizers. Guests mingled, sipped on refreshing beverages, and flipped through personalized newspapers filled with fun details about the couple’s story, adding a unique and playful touch to the hour.

"Upon arrival, guests had their photos taken with a Polaroid camera. The photos were then pasted into a guest book and signed by each guest, making for a wonderful keepsake for the bride and groom."

Private Moment

As the sun dipped below the horizon, Cassidy captured one of the most magical moments of the day. Paige and Spiros wandered into the vineyard, enveloped by the warm golden light. The serene beauty of the surrounding olive groves added a layer of enchantment to the scene.

The photographer seamlessly switched between digital and film cameras to preserve every delicate detail—from the intricate lace of Paige’s gown to the soft sunlight streaming through the grapevines. The resulting images not only captured their quiet love but also the timeless charm of the Cretan landscape, creating a gallery of shared dreams and serene beauty.

Reception & Decor

The reception took place in the charming stone courtyard, transformed into an enchanting oasis. Drawing inspiration from the natural beauty of Crete, The 25 Project and SK Event Rentals created a breathtaking setup. Olive trees were adorned with cascading chandeliers and playful disco balls, casting a magical glow over the space. Tables were dressed with soft linens, gold-rimmed plates, and lush floral arrangements featuring white roses, orchids, and delicate peach accents, blending rustic charm with subtle glamour. The overall design felt effortless and perfectly captured the couple’s romantic vision.

To kick off the evening, Paige and Spiros welcomed their guests with a champagne tower, pouring glasses for everyone to toast their love. The courtyard buzzed with laughter and heartfelt stories as guests exchanged toasts, creating a lively and joyful atmosphere. Later, the couple cut their lemon-flavored tiered cake, lovingly decorated with a fondant golden retriever—a sweet nod to their furry friend back home.

The night came alive with music as DJ Marios Tz kept everyone on their feet. Moments of magic unfolded with a surprise bridesmaids’ dance and the couple’s choreographed rumba to Adele’s “Lovesong.” It was an evening filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories, and every detail added to the celebration’s enchantment.

Afterglow Brunch

The wedding didn’t end there. The celebrations continued with a laid-back brunch by the pool, offering stunning views of the Cretan hills. Guests gathered around the sunny terrace, enjoying a variety of fresh pastries, fruit platters, and local delicacies. Paige and Spiros spent time with their loved ones, savoring the slower pace after an eventful weekend.

Adding to the charm, a few curious kittens wandered around, becoming the unexpected stars of the morning. With chilled drinks in hand and loungers by the pool, guests soaked up the warm Mediterranean sun, cherishing the final moments of their unforgettable weekend in Crete. It was the perfect ending—a blend of simplicity and beauty that echoed the couple’s love story.

Advice from the couple:

Take a step back once or twice throughout the evening to take in the moment in its entirety. There will never be another time when all of those people will be in the same place, so remember to soak it all in and don’t let the day pass you by without acknowledging all of those who came to support and celebrate you.

By the time the day comes, so much planning has gone into the wedding that you should just let everything go and enjoy the moment. Embrace your day, and don’t worry about others having a good time; remember, the day is about the two of you.
